We plan to install raised garden beds on a slope in spring. I learned more from this video than all of the others I watch COMBINED. It’s amazing how keeping things SIMPLE is so much better and much more easily understood. Thanks, great info!
I really appreciate your kind comments. It helps me know I'm hitting my goal of saving viewers time and money. Best of luck with your garden beds.
Woodified thank you sooo much!
I always wondered exactly how to do this! I live on a slope, so this is great information!!!!
Thank you Betty. What do you plan on planting on your garden beds?
Woodified I’ve built patios and walking paths but left them uneven! Lol Have entertained the thought of building a veggie bed for greens for fall!
Wish I saw this earlier!! I've just put in a garden box few days ago and it's still unleveled... makesa lot of sense the way you did!
Sorry you didn't find my video earlier. Best of luck with your garden. I need to get out and get my beds and prune my raspberry canes.
Really found this useful, came here after an afternoon of digging the high side and building up the low side for hours. I have no doubt this is a better technique than the one I was using and look forward to having an easier day tomorrow!
How did you make out finishing your garden beds?
@@Woodified yeah went well and I used this method! Much easisr. Time will tell , I guess, on whether it slips or moves , but looking great now.
Shame there is no short cut for shovelling in topsoil and compost mixes!!! ;)
@@Woodified Just had a couple of days of strong rain and no problem! Great video and cheers!
Beautiful! Perfect! Just the way I like it, because I'm a perfectionist lol. There's nothing like being proud of yourself for building something and having hands in the soil. I have a bunch of extra wood laying underneath my porch on the homestead. Thank you sir!!! I subscribed for your appreciation🌲👍☀️
Welcome to the channel. What did you decide to grow in your new garden?
I am doing a reset of our raised garden. Just to be clear, your suggestion is to set the box somewhat IN the soil rather than on top of the soil correct? I hadn't considered that. Effectively you're making an inset area to push the box into the ground. a little. My old way to I set it on the soil, then I had gaps which presented problems with weed growth.
Yes the box is set in the ground on the upslope end.
Simple and effective. TFS
Thanks for watching!
This one really helped. Thanks!!
You're welcome!
what if i dont level it and just level the soil?
That can work too.
With my hard clay, it would take a hour to dig😮
Did you get your planters setup?
Don’t forget to line your box. The wood will rot faster without it.
What do you line your boxes with?
Oops. What do you do when you learn this after already installing and gardening on an unlevel surface? 🤣🤦🏻♀️
Maybe for your next garden bed?
