I got mine for $720 on sale from the dell website. Been a great little laptop for the price. Definitely wanna upgrade the ram asap and add a little more ssd. Adding dual ram will make her run a lot smoother. For the price is hard to beat. It’s great for work productivity and it’s okay for gaming. The 3050 will run whatever but you gotta really get the settings right for a smooth experience. Also one of the quietest laptops I’ve ever used. The fans be silent AF, but she does run hot. Not dangerous hot, but does run warmer
I' ll plan to buy dell g15 laptop. What is you recommend. Dell g15 5511 i7 rtx 3050 vs Dell g15 5515 ryzen 7 rtx 3050ti one. Select for me one. Gaming, graphic design, video editing...etc
I want to buy the Dell G15 5510. I don’t know why there are different models of this laptop but they all look the same. Are the fans loud when gaming? Nice review BTW
It's a quiet laptop, the only downside I could find about it, it's the ridiculous temperature that gets (101°) but thank god they made a bios update and they fixed that. Its still a bit rough around the edges but hell is a good laptop.
Hey I've got a question. Between this one and Legion 5 (2020), which one would you prefer? This one, of course, is a more recent model. The Legion is a year old but I've seen some reviews that it is a great one to have.
Hi, yeah I had a similar consideration before buying this. Legion 5 does look better for me, but I don't get the chance to really try it out. In the end I got this becos of newer CPU & GPU and easier availability.
@@nangapruan Yea and also consider the downside for G15 (RTX 3050 version): Only one USB 3.1 & Type C port, No RGB lit keyboard, and the recent BIOS update for MUX switch is not available for 120Hz model like this one. Hope this helps ;)
@@techlon9003 thanks man. I am not an enthusiastic gamer by any stretch of imagination. Only playing Fifa and Football Manager. So is the Mux switch important to me? As for the USB ports, I am sure that USB3.1 is ample right? Connectivity wise, it's okay for normal use, I believe. What do you think?
Nice video! I recently found a similar model except mind came with a Intel 11th gen core i5, everything else was the same as yours and it cost me about $850.00 which is a good deal dont get me wrong but then I saw at BestBuy they had a used but in good condition Dell G5 SE for $500.00. This model has a 6 core AMD CPU but also has a very decent AMD GPU the RX 5600m which has 6GB DDR6 memory. It was a close call but I just decided to keep the G5 SE cus it has better specs and a much nicer trackpad. How is your machine working for you?
Yes, it has both socketed RAM. I'm not sure as I have no GTX 1050 to compare with. But quick check on notebookcheck shows that it is around 200% higher score on 3DMark benchmark
Coming from 72% NTSC 91% sRGB screen you can tell it's is a bit less vibrant. But I wouldn't say that it is dull, perhaps it could be different calibration. For non-professional use, I'd say it is good enough.
How far back will the display tilt? I own several laptops over the years and I often connect my laptop to an external monitor. I tilt the display all the way down so that it is pretty much flat and level with the keyboard, slide the display under the monitor, and use the laptop that way. The G15 appears like the display may not tilt back very far though and would block the view of the external monitor. I am just trying to find out about this before ordering one. Can you tell me? Thank you.
Hi, it would open up to 135 degree; see 03:50 that's the max it can go. Perhaps not flat enough if your monitor is placed lower. I've found that this type of hinge design, with protruding rear, normally opens around this angle.
I like it but the amd app in my laptop must be re-installed everytime you turn it on for it to work. I have to send and a diagnostic report using txt. And nfo. I put it off but I will do it today.
I am barely getting 2 hours of youtube playback (I have the 120 hz panel and brightness is set to less than 50 percent). Mine is the 56 watt battery though....still I should be able to get atleast 3 hours
hi Techlon i heard that Dell's online purchasing service is very bad, so can i know how long it tooks to arrive (if youre online purhcasing ) or you bought it at dell concept store?
I'm planning to get this but with the Ryzen5, as it only slight exceeds my budget, but I'm worried about how future proof the RTX3050 with Tdp 80W is, I don't play any hardcore AAA games, and I never play on high settings if I don't have to
Overall, I'd say that it is fine for common games like CS:GO. I've hit 150fps consistently. As it is almost on the verge of your budget. I'd suggest go for RTX3050 instead of older GTX1650/1650Ti. But if you don't mind older models, definite pick GTX1660Ti over this
@@Alhy-ls3dv Then I'd definitely recommend this over GTX1650 models, which in my market are priced extremely close to the lower end of RTX3050 models with 5600H ;)
I thinks that’s pretty unrealistic, I replace my work laptops every 3-5 years. You might get it to 7 years, but I wouldn’t count on it. I’d be financially ready to replace it around the 3 year mark and hope for the best.
Not all models have the RGB keyboard, mine has the 5800 H and 3060 but I opted for the speckled green model and did not select RGB keyboard as an option so mine is only orange. But I did get the 165 Hz panel which has a much better peak brightness and response time.
I am Confused between this laptop and last year laptop of G series, Dell G5 ryzen edition 4600h with AMD Radeon 6GB graphics. Is this laptop heat like last year laptop or heating problem is solved because in last year model temp goes up to 90-95°C very easily? So, is this problem solved on this laptop or not? Dell told us that we add more heat pipe, more ventilation. But is this practical and reduce the temperature of laptop in real life or not? I know gaming laptops heat but last year dell G5 was heated more than any other gaming laptop.

This laptop can be used as a server computer 7 day/24 hours? no gaming.. only for two financial programs need CPU % 50 power. GPU is not important.
Look for a thinkpad instead

Sadly RGB and high freq screen are not available in my region
mux switch?
How much did you buy it for?
MYR4449 or around USD 1050
Does this laptop have slot for hdd?
There's another empty 2nd M.2 Slot, but you'll have to buy the bracket for it as they are not included

So far so good, although it would hit 100C occasionally under intense load. Which AMD says it's normal for 5000H series processors
dell runs them warm its normal
