I saw Johnny Shines at the University of Chicago Blues Festival, spring, 1967. I had heard him of a volume of "Chicago! The Blues Today", a landmark of recording, and, thank you Vanguard Record. At the festival, Shines sounded and played like a re-born Robert Johnson.
