There was a huge incentive to win this Broadbay derby which might explain the ferocity and fear on display as both teams were, at different times, desperate to win and afraid to lose.
Back took the early lead through a Campell Macdonald sclaff but never got that killer second which allowed the pressure to build as the game went on. On the other hand, Point never really looked like scoring until they sent Elliot Ruddle to wreak havoc in the last 10 minutes.
Football strugggled to make an appearance as ball and man had lumps kicked out of them for long parts of the game, culminating in Josh Smith's red card for a lunging tackle on Chris Macleod in the dying embers of this match.
Although Back had the better of the game they will need to grab the next match by the scruff of the neck if they want to progress in the HAM cup, although the last time they won 1-0 in the first round it was the year they lifted the trophy..........
