When I bought my 1st Impreza 1998 I got a WRX Sti Type R, in the show room was a 22B, I bought my STI Type R for £18k (it was 6 months old) the 22B was £25k 🤦🏻♂️…….i then bought a P1 and loved that car, would love to own another one but looking at £40k+ to get back into one….oh how I wish I had a crystal ball back then!! lol
I always thought the P1 was just a watered down V6 Type R, to please Subaru UK cos they were losing sales left right and centre to importers bringing in the Jap STI's... Yellow V4 Type R gets my vote but they're not much cheaper 🤣
Hey I bought a STI type R back in 1999 for £20k...then swapped it for an EVO Vl which I paid 30k for...if only we all new they would increase so much in price...at present I own E92 M3 DCT LCI I of 500 limited edition...👊

I owned a Prodrive scooby 10 years ago.......... I loved that car, took it to 280bhp, the dog never let me down, until i could see my hand through the rust hole going from the rear arch into the boot.......... never a dull moment. - P25 badboi......
There all like that now, you see some for £20k and the advert says just a little bit of scabbing on the rear arch😮 its when you cut that arch away you see the real rust underneath 😢

I’ve started my collection. STI Type R (2-door). STI hawk (two owners) low miles. UK Classic (fully restored) one previous owner, low miles. P1 is on my list (I lost one at auction last week), so I grabbed a C63 😉 We have a A45 and Golf R in the family too. I am definitely not going EV 😊
The attention to detail in the car is absolutely amazing and astonishing. They built that car with no financial boundaries by the look of it. Interior and exterior 10/10 and engine bay and under carriage 10/10
As a previous GC8 WRX owner …. Hands down 1 of thee best performance cars ever made. From acceleration / handling and sound from that boxer motor , a culmination of Pure Driving Pleasure every single time I drove it. Been in many supercars but the Scooby always took the exhilaration to another level. 1 off thee best cars on the planet ❤🇿🇦
A lad at my school purchased a RB5 sti and modded it, flip paint, lowered, proper boy raced it up. If only he had known! Those RB5 are rare as rocking horse shit. Would be worth a packet today.
Agree with you, the fact that they replaced the lights with what looks like cheap chinese tat and don't get me started on the shit looking metal grills for the front bumper, looks like the shit you would have seen in the back of a max power cicra 2002, the way they cut the arches for the bigger wheels throws the whole side profile off too, should have stayed with 17 inch wheels
My oldest brother had a 98 WRX type R he taught me to drive stick in it, I don’t know why tbh Id ride tf out of his clutch (at the start) and he didn’t care I’d look over and he’d have a bigger smile than I did! He just wanted to show me his passion I guess and it stuck! That feeling of building boost, going through the gears and the occasional stall etc sorry for rambling this just reminded me of him. We ended up having to sell his car to cover funeral expenses I miss him and that car alot. RIL PDES ❤ and yes now I drive a shitty 1.8t before you come for me
Owned 10 Imprezas since 2004, my 1st turbo car was a Turbo 2000 which was running 300bhp felt like the fastest thing on earth back then😅😅 I remember 2006 my mate bought a UK 22B for £25k and i bought a widetrack Blobeye STi and was arguing why you would pay £25k for a old 8 year old impreza. If he still had the 22B who would be laughing now.😮

Bought one of the 1st P1’s which was a demo and after 5k miles it blew the infamous 3rd cylinder racing a bike at 165…. The car was replaced by the great dealer for £1k extra with a brand new one👌🏻 Another 5 k or so hard miles and the new Evo 7 was launched….drove an import and the handling etc was different level…and little understeer unlike the P1….in was hooked and bought one of the 1st landed Evo 7’s and actually bought it through my Mitsubishi dealer who got it imported 😃😃😃 year 2001…the good old days when cars where driven around corners not in straight lines 😂😂🤷🏼♂️

Subaru guy here , not hating but it does very little for me , for me it's got wrong lights , wrong exhaust (shotgun exit) , wrong sound wrong gearbox , wrong wheels , wrong wheel colour , wrong front bumper & then wrong colour grills in that bumper , wrong bonnet vents . For the potential buyers it's probably got everything right . The bit it does do right for me ... for me ! is the 2 door widebody 450 bhp scooby. Styling wise I'd be looking for the RCM Gobstopper 1 look , and interior I'd take some of the p25's look with a very specific pair of front seats i have in mind & the obligatory 6speed with dccd.
it's not meant to be a 22B replica. It's a celebration of 25 years from the 1997 WRC car. The 22B was a celebratory model as well, "to commemorate both Subaru's 40th anniversary as well as the third consecutive manufacturer's title for Subaru in the FIA World Rally Championship." So if anything the 22B and the P25 are both homage vehicles to the WRC97. The P25 is a restomod version, obviously, so went with a modern take on a classic car. The silver wheels is a Prodrive theme, and matches the P1. Everything in the car works perfectly for the P25, what they wanted to do, and for the price and market they were after.
I hope the new owner actually drives it. Kills me inside when I see great cars made to go quick, hidden away in a garage for years. GO OUT AND ENJOY IT!

There is a lot more going on with the P25 than people realise. It is a WRC car made civilised and made easier to live with. You only have to see the metal work under the bonnet, that isnt standard GC8. I hate to imagine what that gearbox cost. Its a Prodrive box, not an off the shelf Hewland or Sadev. Everything about it is as high end as you can get.
Such a gorgeous car if I won the lotto defo on my wish list and I would tune it to the moon fun fact 1st and 2nd is automatic because it changes gear so fast I seen this car for sale on pistionheads

Please do a video on the VR38 swapped evo no 2nd session, about the finer details on how they installed it and all the measurements and what parts fit & what they had to move or change in the engine bay, engine mounts etc, how many hours of labor to prepare for the new engine etc. Would really appreciate it, holinger have a MFE type sequential, so why he choose RD6 & not the X12 that has more than 880nm of torque or the GTR sequential from holinger that can easily cope with over 1000hp? It makes sense because both the VR38 and the GTR sequential are a perfect match, then he wouldn’t have to change specific parts inside the gearbox & outer housing, could he use that with the Evo differential and axles? Love to hear more about his amazing swap! If I had to choose between these two cars I’d pick all the carbon parts and the VR38 Evo Together into one contender! Also love your Content Mate! 🇦🇺✌️
