Came here from your latest Bullet For My Valentine vid. This kit sounds like it works great with the VST. I personally use MDrummer, which is purely down to personal taste, so it's good to know I shouldn't have any issues when I upgrade my kit to the 850!

Hi Jimmy, thank for that video. like Jos I'm seeking for those MPS850 VST combinations. In the end, I ordered the MPS850 and ToonTrack EZDrummer 2. I think, those are going to do a great job together! Thank you, dude!

@@Jimmyoldfield Hi. YEAH! I have it! Im not that happy with the HiHat Controller. May you tell us your trigger settings for the HiHat incl edge and Pedal.
@@eDrumsInANutshell hey tbh I don't think there's a lot you can do about the hi hat other than upgrade it unfortunately
@@Jimmyoldfield what are your trigger settings for X-talk, curve, retrig cancel, threshold etc.
I think there is a dependence on the drumset in Toontracks software as well. Some hi-hats do well, some not. The data from the hihat controller - I recorded to Cubase - is there... and looks actually quite good. Maybe I to ambitious, knowing that this set with an VST instrument does a really, really good job!
@@eDrumsInANutshell tbh man i haven't really messed with settings to much I've adjusted the sensitivity and the threshold mainly on the snare kick and toms, but with the hi hat i think it's just one of those things that take a while to get used to, but hopefully you will start to enjoy your kit, I still think it really is a good kit for the price :)
Hiya - did you make tweaks to the Hi-Hat setting or just stick out of the box? I seem to struggle getting a natural feel, if I start to play open it's almost constantly choking the sound - if I play fully open sometimes it doesn't register properly.
Tried to calibrate it in the setting myself but have never been fully happy, would love to hear what you've done
Hey thanks for watching and sorry for the slow reply RUclips didn't notify me and as for the hit hat it sounds like your problem is something to do with the zones on the hi hat (towards the center of the hi hat is the first zone and the edge is the second) you have to make sure you have both zones set to the same sound hope this helps man! :)
Thanks for the video! Did you use a midi preset in SD3 and if so which one? I ask because there is none specifically fpr the mps 850 and I was wondering if you took the one for the 750 or if you needed to create one on your own? do all the triggers - especially for the hihat - work well? cheers!
Thank you for watching! I just started with the GM map and mapped everything how I wanted it to be the GM map should get you pretty close! Hope this helps! :)

How do you connect it with Superior Drummer in your case? The USB cable only or do you use a midi cable specifically?

Just got my 850 kit. The sensetivity on the floor tom seems to be low - I really need to hit hard to get a sound out. Tried to adjust sensetivity in the menu, but still not satisfied. Any suggestion?
That's really strange, if you have tried the sensitivity and threshold, then the only thing I can suggest is to contact thomann. They should help you out :)

Hi yeah but you have to choose between a rim shot or cross stick :)
@@Jimmyoldfield is the rimshot activated traditionally (e.g., rim and snare simultaneously)?
try to make a splash with the hi hat, Its imposible or totally random... and a lot of issues more... Ive got the same and give me a lot of problems, hope yours go right

Awesome playthrough mate! Honest opinion:
I think superior drummer 3 is far more superior (lol) in comparison AD (addictive drums) , the sounds are much deeper and full of detail.
I can't help but notice a small delay/latency in the video framework.. Is this coming from superior drummer 3 or is it the video?
And thank you sincerely, I've been waiting for a youtube playthrough of the millenium mps 850 kit with superior drummer 3 VST. Keep up the good work dude! :)
Hey man thank you for watching I really appreciate it! :D and yeah I have to agree with you superior drummer 3 (to me at least) sounds a lot more like a real raw kit rather than an over processed (but faker sounding) kit such as addictive drums and tbh that's probably from my video/audio synching I always have trouble getting synched 100% haha and thank you man I really appreciate it I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you'll stick around for future videos! Anyway take care! :)
