      Regarding the magnets and demagnetizing cards... Why is this wallet okay but the Pitaka magEZ wallet is not?

    • @Chino-47
      @Chino-47 4 года назад +2

      Open vs Closed magnets. Open magnets can demagnetize your cards vs a magnet being stiched into the material.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  4 года назад +2

      @@darkehorse71 Strength, location and number. The Bellroy Apex Slim Sleeve is another example where magnets are used, in the right place, right number and strength where it doesn't cause damage to your cards. Like I mentioned, it's hard to do right, but can be done with attention to specifications and testing.

    Great review, and great wallet! Prefer this to the Note Sleeve due to the additional card slots, additional "secret" internal card slot (2 vs. only 1 on Bellroy), the vegetable tanned leather, and it's ability to remain slim. I agree the magnets are probably not "needed", but in this case I don't think they are a negative at all and done very well like you said. Agree that it is a bit pricy though!

    @3:25, you took the words right out of my mouth ... If it was a choice between this wallet and the Note sleeve I would opt for the note sleeve as it is serving me well (minus the all the scuff marks).
    I find those two magnet bulges unsightly on the Harber.. I do however like the colour of the wallet.

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  4 года назад +2

      Agreed, color is nice, and for the price, you'd do well to just purchase the Bellroy. If this was less expensive it would be a reasonable buy to try.

    I’m having a hard time deciding between this and the Wingback Winston wallet. They are priced similarly, but the quality of the leather on the Wingback seems quite a bit higher. However, this wallet has better design in term of features and usability in my opinion.
    1. Would you agree on those two points, Mark?

    3. Could you comment on the longevity/durability between these two wallets?

      @@walletopia Yeah I definitely get that about the RFID issue. I know the Harbor London RFID card holder is crazy expensive for what it is, but it just seemed interesting with just how minimal it is, plus Harbon London seems to have really nice leather. The card holder just seems to have such a small footprint but also quality leather and with how simplistic it is I was a bit curious how good the quality was despite how minimalistic it is. Most other card holders that size seem to have pull tags now, etc to get to the cards and this one seemed to just from what I can tell have two slots instead which was refreshing to see.

    I've been thinking about shopping for a new wallet and I went down the wallet review rabbit hole and luckily stumbled onto your channel. This Harber London wallet is the closest thing to a modern bifold that I'm interested in. Is there one you can recommend that has a similar design but has a thicker leather more durable leather? I have no use for any sort of zippers, or quick access on the outside portions of the wallet and preferably without a pull out tab for cards on the inside, though it isn't a deal breaker. The Fujitaka was another I was interested in, but the zipper on the outside is kind of a deal breaker on top of the ridiculously high price. I'm trying to find something between the Harber and Fujitaka, not ultra slim but not too thick either. Thanks in advance!

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Год назад +1

      That's part of the trade off. The design requires a lighter weight leather to make it work. The Bellroy Slim Sleeve is good, but if durability is more important than type of material, look at the Pioneer Altitude wallet. Functions like a Harbor or Bellroy, but the material molds like leather, but is super strong and resilient.
