Peach and Mint are beautiful colours together, but personally I don’t like the red or the navy blue “dark green” For me I think it would have looked better if you’d have gone more pink for the peach colour and more mint for the teal blue, with some white for an accident instead of red or dark blue. But maybe that’s just my biased because my peach coloured cat (named peaches) has a mint green harness and it looks beautiful on her.
The teal blue is fine imho, but I 100% agree about everything else you said. In fact, I was going to say the same thing. A lighter red would also work as an accent color.
Nightshade I was thinking the same! The teal to me is fine, but I expected more pink tones for a peach, both in the swirl and in the peach coloring cuz it looked a little orange But in the end it was super cool to me. I get it was only “inspired” by the picture, but I wish the tones were more true to it. I didn’t think I’d like that green and blue in the swirl, but i was surprised cuz it looks nice together with the red. It just doesn’t make me think of the picture
Yeah. Definitely should have been more of a pastel moment. I think most people who said they liked it were just trying to be nice. They aren't the right colors.
When you showed the photo I had a completely different idea of how it would turn out. I imagined the turquoise being the base of the soap with a drop swirl of peachy orange color going through it. The top was piped circle tip to make perfect little peach balls on top and then the imbed was leaves.
I just did that with a melt and pour heart in the piped ‘clouds’ of my soap...,and it turned out AWESOME!! I think she should! It’s a whole different look!
The colors not going together but being bright make me think of the 70’s honestly! I love it. It’s kind of vintage feeling. I definitely want a bar of the original batch!!
When I think of peaches, I kind of expected there to be a round peach-shaped embed inside the soap? Like a little sphere? And some pink to go with the orange would make it more peachy as well.
Christine Powell Her perkiness and her positivity, regardless of how the soap turns out, brightens my day. She seems like she'd be such a good friend, just to hang out and make dinner with or whatnot. :)
I'm loving the commentary editing! I think the blue is actually super pretty. But I think the red and green is clashing inside the soap. Still super pretty!
I love it as is. There are SO MANY "predictable" or "basic" color palettes out there that we see rearranged over and over. Banal. THIS SOAP IS UNIQUE. Sophisticated. Avant-garde. And the coolest part about it IS how it generates such creative discussions! I love it.
Love your soaps! To be honest I wish it was more of a peach color and the blue is only ok for me. I am not being mean I love your soaps and order something every month but know you want a little honesty. Love you Katie
Katie, I just love 💘 how you share your fun and creativity as well as your significant, humorous, and meaningful story vignettes! Thank you for brightening so many of our days. God bless you. Lots of love!
I feel this except with art, I have all these ideas for pieces in my head and can actually see it, but when I try to do it, they never turn out how I think
As a writer, I can't tell you how many drafts I've gone through on particular products, so I COMPLETELY get where you're coming from. But one could argue soapmaking is an art form unto itself; especially with the way Katie approaches it.
"Be sure to do something fun for yourself today." My fun thing for myself is watching your videos! :) If I'm having a bad day, I always try to watch one of your videos. You're always so cheerful and upbeat, it helps to cheer me up. So, thanks many! :)
Oh my GOSH watching that soap frosting change colors was like magic!!! And those PEACHES!!! They’re so pretty!!! I see where you were going with the pink and red and dark green!! It really evokes all the beautiful colors you see in a peach!! I say good job Katie!!!!
For me personally, because thee inspiration photo was mostly the teal vw bus, I would have made the soap base teal. Then, like the sweet candy orange soap that bramble berry put out, I would have done a column embed of the peach/yellow/red combo as a kaleidoscope swirl. Then the frosting on top would have been the teal again with the peach slices and green leaves. I love your work Katie!
I was going to say that I love the blue! I think the added shake on the peaches is really lovely too, it adds a nice depth that makes them look so summer-y and ripe!
I think a nice blue layer on the bottom, with the peach colour with a swirl in in, then dark green piping with a peach gumball on top would be really nice
I’m glad you said nobody should be soaping that hot, because some do, and I think I cant learn to soap if the elements are dangerous and too hot. At least one obstacle is now removed.😉
am i the only one that misses Katies intrepid embedding like the candles soap from way back and the more, sculpted(?) designs! don't get me wrong i love the swirl stuff, theyre actually my favorites, but Katie has some serious talent when it comes to some serious soap "sculpting" skills!
So that swirl on the inside is really pretty! And it kind of remind me of the inside of a peach. You should keep the peach color, and then do that same swirl with that dark color in the center of a peach. And keep the frosting the same teal color on top 😍
My first CP soap I made, I soaped at 110 degrees, per the directions on the soap calc I was using. It went badly, traced way too quickly (we're talking less than five minutes of stick blending). The thing started to volcano so I put it in the fridge. It's perfectly usable soap, but the top has a huge crack. My second identical batch I decided to soap at lower temperature (80 degrees) and it went a bit better, but still overheated and had to be put in the fridge. It actually gelled and looked a lot nicer, but still had a crack across the top. My third time soaping I made the oatmeal baby soap by Soap Queen (the one also done here on this channel), but I soaped at room temperature as was recommended in many RUclipsr's videos. The recipe said)I think) 110 degrees, but I was really nervous of having issues again so I tried room temperature. The darn thing wouldn't trace. Even though I stick blended in bursts so the blender could cool down, the darn thing overheated and turned off permanently. Fortunately the soap had reached light trace by that point and it turned out great. When I thought about it, that soap was being poured into individual soap bar moulds instead of a loaf mould. I doubt it would have overheated like my large loaves did, there wasn't as much soap there. I probably could have soaped at the higher temperature just fine. It's all a learning experience, and I find it so fascinating. The research never stops, and I love that about it. There is no fun in something you perfect immediately. It's all about the challenge 😁
You know it's different, but it reminds me very much of the old 80's,-90's style diner signs. The peach and blue look great together. And the red just kind of pops on the top. I was reminded of all the pastels that were so popular when I was in High school. And nothing beats the smell of a fresh peach, except a strawberry. You have such a strong creativity. You might have a hiccup with the colors not behaving , but it always says hey! This is what I am. Your the queen for a reason honey. 👑👑👑
Love the inspiration to the soap, and the frosting turned out perfectly. The green and the pink are an odd choice but hey it's not my soap 🤷🏻♀️ I'm sure it smells amazing
Personally I ❤️❤️❤️this soap!! I love to watch you and your creative process 😊! Thank you for allowing all of us to watch you grow and try new things !!
I love, love, love color and this is my take away from your final soap. Remember that orange and blue are complementary colors to each other on the color wheel so they will make do each other pop and they can work really well together. I think I would have added some white somewhere maybe with the blue frosting. Also, I'm not sure I like the colors swirled in the peach soap and would've rather the soap be blue or green with big blobs of peach and accent colors. Lastly, I think on top of the soap frosting it would look a bit better if you put one peach slice on each bar off-center of the middle and stuck a leaf next to the peach slice near the top instead of having the leaves flat on top and 2 peaches. I think asymmetrical just would have looked a bit more natural and what you did was too symmetrical and too much peach on the blue. I hope you don't mind my ideas but like I said I love color so I'm always taking a hard look at designs and thinking of what I would do differently or how I would improve them.
When we were little, my younger brother was in the bathroom. I hid by the door in this little alcove thing, and as soon as he opened the door, I jumped and shouted as loud as I could. That boy screeched like a velociraptor and slammed the door in my face. I about peed myself laughing!
Hi Katie! If you ever are looking to experiment with this design you should try doing the whole base of the soap in the light teal color (to represent the truck) and do the icing in the orange/peach color to represent the pile of peaches! then you could do a few leaves on top and maybe some orange/dark peach dust to mimic the color variations on the peaches? Just a suggestion! Love your soaps!
really think the red is ruining it all. the orange and teal blue as well as the inserts are beautiful together. I shouted out “NO!” when you drizzled the red because i’m dramatic af 😂😂

mixing pink and green with blue and red is asking for a bad time imo asdfgjk

The teal definitely is fine I just like mint, and it looks alright as a kind of ocean sunset type soap but it doesn’t give me peach vibes 🍑
No red. No dark green inside the soap. Love the teal and the peaches on top. 👍🏻
I think the only real issue with this soap is the red. The teal and peach look great together
When you showed the photo I had a completely different idea of how it would turn out.

Like the peaches are in the truck. Thats what i was thinking.
that would have looked much better
Have you ever thought of putting an embed in the frosting, not on top?
Would be neat to see something in the middle of it all
Like sticking a soap cane in the middle of the frosting
I just did that with a melt and pour heart in the piped ‘clouds’ of my soap...,and it turned out AWESOME!! I think she should! It’s a whole different look!
she did that in her harvest moon soap
oh, I must not have seen that one yet.
@@doodlebees that was running through the base of the soap, what about a soap cane going through the frosting?

The peach and the teal is perfect, but the red and green (inside) just seems a little out of place; love it otherwise!
I always love Katie's videos, no matter how the soaps turn out. I love her honesty and how she brings me into her artistic process.

I think the blue is actually super pretty. But I think the red and green is clashing inside the soap. Still super pretty!
This soap remember me of the Arizona tea can!
😱 It does
That would be a perfect name for the soap! Arizona Peach! 🧡💕
By your reference photo I imagend something totally different... I don't know how I feel about that soap...
I thought it would look like a real peach
I think is the first time i haven't liked a loaf. On my screen it looks really ORANGE and the inside looks vibrantly red .
I think for the peaches 🍑 if you shaded the outside with a kind of orange/pink mica and maybe a tad in the middle they would look so life like. 🤤
Bonnie Nash yah like the “cantaloupe” mica would have been good I think!
Nobody's gonna talk about how perfect that "MY LEG" impression was??
I think a bit of gold woven into the blue soap frosting would even things out quite nicely!
I'm so glad I found this channel😭 Katie's laugh just brightens my day and her content is so relaxing and beautiful to watch
Just recently bought my first bars . Opening them was like getting an autograph from my favorite band💕

Agreed with some of the comments, the leaf on top is enough dark green. I would replace the dark green swirl with a pink c:

It's really encouraging to hear somebody speak so happily of their marriage. Love your channel x
I like that the red in the swirl looks like the peach inside closest to the pit-where it gets a much deeper red-pink color
