I know ! you'd think it's a nice movie about a good mother and her good son, but we soon learn that first impressions aren't the last ! everyone in that movie who seemed good at first turn out to be bad, like the mother and her son and the victim. On the other hand, everyone who seemed bad at first, like the protagonist's friend and the homeless guy actually turn out to be good people.
To be honest, I dont remember ever subbing to this channel, but this was a happy surprise. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos, since I'm already here.
Hiya mate . I really enjoyed your video . I was quite chuffed that I have actually seen some of the films . May I please ask why you haven’t listed the title of the movies in the description . It would have been a great help if you had done so .

Jean De Florette and it's sequel Manon Des Sources are both must see especially if you love movies like the Godfather, in depth powerful drama with stellar acting and themes greed, family, revenge etc, just don't look up the plot to Manon Des Sources everything written about it spoils the ending of Jean.
Any thoughts on one of these? 9 Queens, Motorcycle Diaries Delicatessen , Micmacs, Amelie Audition, Three..Extremes, Parasite, OldBoy IO Capitano Force Majeure, Headhunters, Oslo 2011, In Order of Disappearance 2014
It's one of the ost horrific and harrowing scenes ever filmed IMO. They utlilised a "special" tone/frequency devised by the SS Nazis in it at the crescendo of the horror etc, Its made/proven to illicit unease to fear and anxiety apparently.
That movie was great. I think that was my first foreign film that got me into watching more foreign films. God the scene where they were throwing stuff at it in the water...funny...and the guy grabbing a post or something with concrete on the end..incredible
WOW! Concering man bites dog, there is an American film from 2006 that is the same exact thing. It's a mockumentary about a documentary film crew who follows around a serial killer as he plans the classic "horny teens in a cabin for the weekend" slaying. I didn't know it was a homage to another film. It's called "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon" Thats amazing. If it isn't a homage then the filmmakers definitely need to be sued for plagiarism 😂
Nice list of the Top Ten foreign films. But if you're new to foreign films, don't be put off by this rather bleak and serious list. Not every foreign film is a "taut phycological thriller exploring something or other". And you don't need to be wearing the black turtle neck and beret or be smoking a Gitanes while sipping espresso. There are some fabulous fun comedies from all around the world. Many have been remade by Hollywood to varying degrees of success. My favourites include Ober, written, directed and staring Alex van Warmerdam Three Men and a Leg, Aldo Baglio, Giacomo Poretti, Giovanni Storti Subway directed by Luc Besson and starring Isabelle Adjani and Christopher Lambert. Mediterraneo directed by Gabriele Salvatores and written by Enzo Monteleone. Tais-toi ! directed by Francis Veber and starring Gérard Depardieu and Jean Reno Fack ju Göhte directed by Bora Dağtekin and starring Elyas M'Barek and Karoline Herfurth Any El Santo movie. Santo in the Wax Museum is my favourite. Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot (Any Hulot film really) with Jacques Tati Good Bye, Lenin by Wolfgang Becker Two Lottery Tickets by Paul Negoescu Midnight Runners by Joo-hwan Kim, Kim Joo-hwan And finally FRANK. Not technically a foreign film but it sure feels like one and it's made in County Wicklow, Dublin, and New Mexico. So I agree 100% with this clip, get into the fabulous variety of wonderful foreign films that are out there. But you don't have to take it so seriously all the time. Have a laugh and enjoy as well.
Sorry. I miss seeing what is going on around the movie when I read sub titles I like English sub titles. I know they are hard to do and appreciate the effort people put into them.
Mother is actually a part of a trilogy and is hardly the best south Korean movie. Anyway, a lot of these are more odd movies than they are fantastic. There are some really great foreign movies I'd have on my list before any of these. Particularly, if you're just starting out.
Watch a lot of other films, Hollywood and foreign. Go live a little. Then in a couple of years watch Burning again. Sometimes, we are not ready for certain pieces of art based on our experience in life. I hope you give it another chance Raul.
The vanishing is a masterpiece!
Definitely adding a few of these to the queue, thanks for telling us where we can watch them
You’re very welcome! Hope you enjoy them!
The Vanishing is incredible. Stays with you.
I'm from Argentina, so a Hollywood film is a Foreign film to me
I discovered Wild Tales a few months ago and it instantly became one of my top Spanish language films.
Hola Maradona.
Hola Tango.
Hola Buenos Aires.
Όλα για όλα!
Another round and the vanishing excellent picks 👌🏻 oldboy and portrait of a lady on fire some of my favs too
This was really interesting. There are a lot of amazing foreign films that people don't even know about!
Nice list, I have seen 6 of these and really love 'Burning' and 'Onibaba' in particular. Also 'Victoria' is very good.
I was surprised at how good Victoria was
ONIBABA!! An original masterpiece of filmmaking.
What I enjoyed most about Mother, is that it not the film you expect it to be.

I like films that one has to put together like a jigsaw puzzle. Finding that crucial piece is such a rush.

If you like good foreign psycho-thrillers, you should watch the Austrian movie "Angst"...One of the best psychopaths ever in the film.
Will definitely check this out, thanks for the recommendation!
Where can I see it?
I love that movie as well

Man Bites Dog, pride of Belgium 😍😍😍
Great list ^^
Onibaba is such a fantastic film. I bought it on a whim during a Criterion sale and fell in love with it.
Criterion sale what is that?

Not even one Spanish speaking movie? Amorres perros is my personal fave
The Spirit of the Beehive and Magical Girl are wonderful Spanish films. Under the Salt is a very good Mexican film.
The vanishing and another round are some of my favorite films of all time. I will watch the rest on this list for sure

Burning is an adaptation of Haruki Murakami's short story, "Barn Burning."
irreversible is a good one it has some very graphic scenes in but it really does feel like a surreal experience.

@@markgardner2959 yea was intense my anxiety was peaking lol
I will watch some of these films on your advice . I consider " The Vanishing " as the greatest thriller ever . B
I think there was even a more original version decades ago with possibly Donald pleasant. Not sure but there definitely was an earlier version..
I feel ahead of the curve because I got into Bong Joon-Ho because a professor in a "politics of science fiction" class I took showed us The Host

Ohh the great Mads 🎉❤
Fuck, American HBO Max gets all the good shit.
very true, its had an incredibly impressive library
Avoid disney+, netflix and prime and u should be good 2 go.
Where can I watch all these ? I’m so bored with film, and need great foreign ones
I'm only on #8 but I hope "Bullhead" is on this list
Seen 9, 3, and 1.

This should probably be re-titled to add “thriller”
