I mean, is there like a database of records in your head and every time you hear a tune you go "oh that's from such and such song and this is how they chopped up that amen break, yea, and ah yes, this obscure baseline is just a racoon barking, put through a filter and pitched down by umpty cents". Thanks very much! I’ve included all of the sounds used in the description, I didn’t include the project file just because it didn’t feel ethical. Because it’s not my song that I personally released, so out of respect for the artists. However I do agree learning from project files is really helpful, I’ll have other things in the future that will include project files

Listen to different genres you wouldn’t usually, check out playlists, radio and even going crate digging in vinyl shops :) Thanks for the love and support on the video

Thanks fam :) and Tokyopill only added the drum break, everything else was from the Imogen Heap track. So I imagine the strings were recorded in live, then Imogen and her co-producer in Frou Frou added FX to them. Try checking out Intimate strings by Spitfire Audio. They’re very high level and reasonably priced. Hope this helps

Still learning to sample but is there a benefit to using Serato Sample vs. Ableton? I'd imagine it might be a sound quality ordeal happening. Appreciate the content as always and love your style.
It's my favourite sampler VST, I love how easy it is to use and the colour scheme. JakeOne (famous producer for MF Doom, J.Cole, Drake etc) say's it's the closest thing to an ASR10 sampler available.
I really would recommend it, perfect for chopping up samples, drum breaks and more. Also it's pitch detection and pitch shifting capabilities are incredible! However on the other hand, everything it does you can do in Ableton. So it's not essential, just makes things a lot easier in my oppinion.

I don’t think I did? Sometimes RUclips changes how it’s processed on upload, so that may be what’s responsible
