song is "Sidechain" by Synthet, on streaming platforms
@synthet7 on TT and IG
note: There are loads of sidechain methods. Many really prefer using the Fruity Peak Controller but I’ve always been fond of this one. Just get yourself a go to tech. I'm also a big fan of DUCK by Devious Machines or Gross beat for just quick fast sidechaining.
#sidechain #sidechaining
all the love!
hard to squeeze in but it should be used with cuidado. overused sidechain can be you know. ok i like that often. if it went too fast I learn this method back in 2015 from this guy:

I recently learned these routing shortcuts and I love them.
saves you 0.5 seconds
Bro went from 0 to one of the best fl studio channel on yt. Legend.
fr
he's the goat
Not only FL Studio most of this tips are universal ❤🎉
I use logic and still find most of his videos very applicable
He literally popped up out of nowhere and started dropping some of the best-presented, useful and practical tutorials on the platform. Crazy underrated, but the channel seems to be growing fast.
Bro has successfully got me watching tutorials for something I don't even use
literally me
same lol i just use Kickstart 2

I like how dude's voice is on rythm
The title went from “SIDECHAIN EVERYTHING” to “Sidechain masterclass” to “All producers should learn this”
Pretty sick of this clickbaiting NGL. This channel isn't bad, but this feels a bit insulting.
@@SlashCampable its how u grow on here dude
@@SlashCampable It’s not necessarily clickbait, its just a title that was necessary for more of the audience to click his video, thus getting him more engagement.
@@renzo4180 that's what clickbait is. clickbait isn't inherently bad. it's only when it's used in bad faith, such as highlighting something in the video that gets two seconds of screen time in the background.
@@suut if everyone does something wrong, it doesn't make it right or exempt from complaints. In some platform like Peertube, you'd have no monetary incentive, and hence you could get true organic growth based on content quality.
Holy shit this guy is saving 90% of amateur music producers single handedly.
It’s me
I think there is a much easier way, use the Fruity Peak controller, set the base to 20%, leave it for now, now add a Fruity Balance to the instrument you want to sidechain, now right click on the Fruity Blance and do Click on "Link to controller" and then on the source, we are going to put the channel where the Peak Controller is assigned (we select only the "peak" option) and in the formula, we expand the list and select "inverted"... now We remove the "remove conflicts" option (we do this so we can use it on more channels simultaneously) and that's it, we can now go to the Peak controller to play with the amount and time of the sidechain
@@mariogs8761 the way he showed in the video is wayyyy more customizable and literally takes like 10 seconds to do. It's not much easier to do it your way
@@mariogs8761 there's always gonna be a dozen ways to achieve a similar function, using other plugins or techniques in the same plugin etc etc. The point isn't to claim one is the best, but to inform the concept to people who aren't familiar with it and it may inspire them to try new things
plus the dude makes a song out of the tutorial i mean come on lmao
This is just the best channel on RUclips. Hands down.
Fr when it comes to music tutorials!

Bro is a giga chad for being :
- simple
- understandable
- no clickbait
- no yapping
- straight to the point
- on point thumbnail
- explaining while practicing
you're too kind thanks bro
I love how every tutorial is basically a song itself. Best way to showcase the techniques and their effects immediately without delay.
Sometimes with delay! ;)
the way the background music transitions in so well with the examples is euphoric
i always get so hyped when i see this guy in my recommended, definitely the best tutorial channel out there
These videos slice through my ADHD so I can actually learn something
me to
Finally, someone who explains it simply. Every time ive looked for what side-chaining is, its always over complicated and i never understand it. Thank you for this, you’re honestly the best fl studio yt channel i have seen.
Exactly! My favourite element in a song yet nobody ever explains it right
he actually explained it wrong though. maybe the reason why the other sidechain tutorials confused you was because they explained what sidechaining really is
yeah if you look it up you ll find that sidechain was explained even better like 15 years ago here on youtube and nothing has changed since then
I really appreciate what you put into these videos. Yours is one of the first music education channels I’ve seen to incorporate multi-modal teaching to such a thorough degree; Explaining a concept linguistically, while showing it visually, while providing an aural example all synced up in the format you’d see it used in actual application.
Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing where your channel goes :)
I remember when I watched a tutorial on music production for the first time. They were saying 'I think this needs a bit of side chaining'. They tweaked some knobs etc. and they put the before and after in the video, but what they changed was so subtle, that I could not hear a fricking difference. And they were saying stuff like 'wow do you hear that, it makes such a big difference'. I could not decipher what side chaining was until a few months later it clicked after reading some more explanations. But in this video, it was explained so clearly in just 18 seconds. Very well done
1:16 Definitely the pest part
these videos are so satisfying to watch
I really love this ending bit and the entire fact that the guide is sync to the music and the music is the guide.
Just.. Perfect execution of an explanation.
Something I've noticed that's subtle yet very impactful to your videos is how you maintain the tune playing in the background at its tempo and time your speech to match the drops evey quatrain or so. Hence, even when you're not singing, you're always in rhythm! 🔥
nah bro this has to be the best sidechain tutorial ive ever seen, now i can show to people who dont even produce and they will understand what sidechain means, even better than a whole 30 mins tutorial, glad ur getting the recognition u deserve 🔥
Bro is not messing around with these tutorials. Straight to the point, explained well, no filler. Love it.
1:31 wow
Wow! Guy with 6 million subs!
I've no plans to ever make music of my own, but I'm still subscribing for the quality of video (and audio, of course) production, its so wonderful to see something threaded together this well with the music and your lesson. Truly great to see people putting in the time to make videos of this quality
that tutorial is PERFECT, the music playing in a loop with the subtle addition of explained effects makes it super dynamic! gg!
The use of the same continuous song throughout, seamlessly blending between an example and a background track, is absolutely brilliant
mans underrated, i expected him to have at least 1 mil subs, damn.
Soon
@@nonenothing4412 probably.
For only doing this for about 3 months, I'd say 76k subscribers in that short time is doing great
I remember back in summer 2012 when someone taught me how to sidechain in FL Studio. It was game over, I was obsessed with music production at that point. It was my full-time job by 2015 :)
Man your channel is a breath of fresh air for music producers - thanks for all you do
man u are straight up givin all the lessons ive been teachin people for years. it's actually so awesome to see this shit get so popular. i say this all the time in my streams but back when i started it was so hard to find straightforward guides like this that were easy to follow and very important to making solid music. it took me years to learn some basic shortcuts because me and my friends didnt have resources like this and had to depend on random shit we discovered ourselves to share with eachother to learn.
legit these are awesome as hell, keep it up homie
your tutorials are useful for even non-FL Studio users. if you know your DAW well enough you can replicate this in programs other than this one (e.g. you can do this in Logic by stacking the kick track with whatever track your putting this effect on, and then putting the limiter on the stack which treats them as one output.
I could cry man.......I have been needing a sidechain explanation thats not so long or jargony!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for all your videos please keep having nice days!!!!!!!
dude, i needed a video like this on sidechaining, fire content as always bro.
I am new to FL studio and producing and this guy already helped me a bit but apart from just learning new things I also enjoy watching these videos because of the vibe they give off.
Bless this guy! I hope he never stops with these videos absolutely vibing and learning!
I actually feel so unbelievably happy to have watched you before you blow up... Because you are 100% going to.
50k+ subs in a single month isn't blowing up yet?
I never ever plan to use FL Studio but I listen to all your videos
god this guy makes the most satisfying stuff alive.
I don't even need to learn this it's just such a satisfying presentation. 10/10
Going back through the videos this dude just does not stop putting out the best content on the entirety of RUclips
i'm not even a producer, but i really like all of your videos. Short and concise explanations on a chill beat and said beat actually demonstrates the explanation perfectly, and on beat, without pauses.
VERY NICE!
This is unreal mate you are doing a great service to us all! Bless you sir
How did this guy get such a complete tutorial into two minutes?? Seriously dude. You have a gift as a teacher.
you're too kind
Respect on the editing and flow of the video
This is some of the best video editing i've ever seen. Keep it up!!!
no but the music here goes HARD
fr something all producers should learn, sidechain is across all genres
This is actually incredibly helpful for any music producer in the world. Great video as always, man!
its 2024 and finally someone made a usefull sidechain tutorial for fl studio 😭 thank you love your vids
Love this kind of tutorials. straight to the point. not much talking.
This is just the sort of lesson I need, I can groove while studying, perfect mix. It basically has the feel of a rhythm game tutorial. If only it was interactive...
I just watched all your videos after finding the "delete trick" video on my recommended and I'm hooked. I don't even make music or play an instrument. Your tutorials are just so satisfying to watch xD
the way the groove continues throughout the whole video is magnificent. 10/10 tutorial!
10/10 tutorial. Amazing method, short simple tutorial, simple showcasing, and amazing beat in the background that actually works into not only the demonstration, but what you are saying as well. You earned a like and a new subscriber
This is crazyyy! Turning tutorials into fire beats, whilst being smoother than butter!
This is an incredibly concise and visually crystal-clear way to explain sidechaining that even a non-producer could understand. Very cool
bro taught me what sidechaining was in less than 2 minutes when I've struggled with production for years.
goat
these short format types of tutorial with a catjam bop running for demonstration are perfect!
These tutorials are so slicke they make me want to pickup digital music production as a hobby just so i have a reason to watch them
It flows beautifully. This is teaching me more than anything i’ve ever learned in music.
i'm still a complete beginner when it comes to FL (or producing in the first place) and while my beats sound pretty bad at the moment, these videos genuinely help a lot - a lot of effects such as the one covered in this video are things i've been a fan of and have been really interested in learning how to replicate!
i love how these videos are all super straight to the point and feature really tasteful editing as well. thanks for doing what you do!
Accidentally discovered this channel and saw the beginning of the best fl studio channel.
This IS the smoothest tutorial i have Seen and Heard so far
sick creative short tutorials. been meaning to start playing around with fl studio and watching your videos have been giving me all shorts of ideas
I want you to know that I have no idea how to use fl studio, I don't think I will ever be music-literate enough to ever make a track to save my life, and half of these terms sound like spells are being cast in my general direction, but I am unable to skip a video of yours when it comes on my feed and I cannot explain why
Never stop making videos thx
The most creative channel on RUclips right now 🔥
I would love a reason series as well, these videos are really helpful
You literally make my day man, helping me identify the earworms I feel in songs and also making your demonstrations even more catchy
Since I'm not an audio engineer or anything like that, I just love music, my dad's friend asked for help to record his vocals for his songs and do some song writing and stuff, so your channel is a pretty good help for me. Thank you. ❤
I don’t even do anything related to music and I probably never will these videos are just so addicting
best sidechaining tutorial ever exists on yourtube even more clear than in the mix tho in the mix is more informative
you're an actually W. never seen someone breaking down stuff easier than this
I’ll never not be impressed with the amount of sidechain videos that are tutorials on RUclips! Especially the amount that show the same technique with the same limiter!😆🙂↕️
This guys content is honestly astronomical.
Thanks for making this both super quick and very informative. Every other tutorial on how to do anything in FL always comes up with a super long video
Another way I use to sidechain is using Fruity Peak Controller. I use the plugin to map the volume of the kick and adjust the Peak settings for, say, Fruity Balance (80 Base, -40 or -80 Volume) or EQ Level (50 Base, -25 or -50 Volume). Then, I put Fruity Balance or Fruity Parametric EQ 2 on the stuff I want to sidechain and then use ‘Link to Controller’ to map the peak input to the volume control. I found it very useful for ducking the volume or low end without the use of an automation clip. The downside, however, is that you don’t have a lot of flexibility to customize the sidechain curve; though, you could play around with Tension and Decay settings.
Ngl, Fruity Peak Controller is underrated, and I just discovered how it’s used in ‘I’m Awake’ by Bombs Away. The LFO is great for automating LFO on stuff without so many automation clips (you can adjust the input settings if you know your math which makes it more convenient and uses less peak controllers with different settings). Heck, you could even use automation clips as controllers for other stuff.
The beat on this is so funky
I love this Video, It's Educational and Straight to the point. It might seem low-effort but the sounds in the video are all synced to the background music. Overall very satisfying to watch
What an epic video. Really nice how the editing mixed with the music. It was like hearing a whole track, but informative. AMAZING!
My man, I LOVE YOU! This is amazing content.
your video randomly appeared on my feature, and I must say your instruction not only straight-forward but also makes me want to download FL to try out instantly ☺️
this editing and mixing in this instructional is insane. Props to the guy talking and singing? in this video.
This channel is the most epic discover for me this year 🔥🔥 amazing content
what the actual heck, that's another level of creativity on video editing and storytelling
thank you!!
I like it when the audio track that is being processed is the main background track of the video
I like this guy so much
He sounds like the rhythm base game tutorial narrator
These are so helpful, entertaining and condenced, literally the best content
Thank you so much for this, you make very digestible tutorials and keep it entertaining every time. I’ve been wanting to figure out how to use side chaining for a while now and this is extremely helpful.
Just discovered your channel and watching nonstop!
The perfect explanation with just a little silliness at 1:15 makes this entire video damn perfect! Well done!
NGL I just watch these videos because they sound so good. I have no desire to make music but these videos are making me Wana try...
They way you integrate your tutorial into the music is something I've always wanted a FL Studio video to do :D awesome advice
In this regard, i think the most important skill in FL Studio is learning to use Maximus with every function, including RMS mode and the two releases as well as the relationship between the release curves and also input delay etc.. Together with the monitoring graphs, it's the most powerful compressor of all of them, enabling natural sounding side chain compression without actually sidechaining two tracks
Explained beautifully in just under 2 minutes!! Extremely impressive👏
These are the best videos of this genre
This gives such rhythm heaven vibes it’s crazy
I watch this as if it was a song or a piece of art, I really don't know what program he's talking about or about music... but the tutorial is so smooth, well constructed, with humor, its pleasant in itself...
Greetings from Belgium! Peace!🖖✌👋
THAT WHAT I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT FOR YEARS DUDE, THANK YOU!
my older brother lets me use fl studio occasionally and i just now sidechained something!!! thanks 4 the tutorial its really cool
He went from clipchamp videos to high quality videos
