I couldn’t get past the first 20 mins of this movie. My question is why does the movies display long suffering of middle age women? I’m middle age and I’m not living like that, I’m having the best time of my life. My three kids are grown, grandkids are doing well. So why all the sadness? It life roll with the punches good and bad.

Great hairstyles and fashions in this one! Rose’s twin puff hairdo and daisy shirt. Mary’s stylish bob and red pullover. Rhoda’s purple outfit.

This movie disappointed because it seemed unequal, Rhoda was a supporting player to Mary, it also made it clear that they hadn’t been connected all those years which was sad and not what I expected

Lol, Rhoda trying to get the operator to put her through to Mary.. I guess Mary and Rhoda didn't have e-mail yet. Social media still wasn't around yet, either. Just chat groups and IM's.
Rhoda has always had a penchant for running like crazy through the streets of NYC to catch up to someone she loves. 🥰 I kinda wished Mary had thrown Rhoda's hat up in the air in the middle of the street. 😉
I love how Mary and Rhoda could always lift eachother up with empathy and dark humor. 💖

Could have been a pilot for a sequal to the origional. Might have been but never picked up. Many shows, the one I know off, was Kook's Tour featuring the three stooges (can be seen right here in RUclips), that got extended and turn into TV specials.

Not enough references to the original show Edward Asner easily could have easily been included. THis movie went in a very different direction then original series. Theyre in NY and theres no reference to Rhodas mother or sister or father. Why couldnt it have been in Minneapolis ? Georgette could have been included also. Did Joe (Rhodas husband on "Rhoda") even get mentioned? When did they seperate and why? This could have been great. A very bad lost opportunity and not only wasnt Phylis included she wasnt mentioned either!

This may seem a bit grimm which I do not intend it to be but Mary's husband's death could have gone one of three ways. He faked his death to get out of debts (which rock climbing is a common scenario), he actually died knowing that doing an inexperienced event will likely lead to death or, no twist what-so-ever and he just happened to die and there is no future story in the coming clips.

That statement came off incredibly insensitive. You're assuming that all mothers should be in their 20s to have children. Though we would all love to have everything figured out in our 20s it doesn't workout that way for many people. Mary was in her 30s during the original show and wasn't with anyone, so one can assume she was in her 40s when she had her daughter. Which is fine. My own mother had me in her 40s and hearing grandma comments from kids like the one you made was incredibly hurtful to her, and to me as a child. I'm now in my mid 30s and single. I'm pretty sure I don't want kids but if I ever get married, most likely it'll happen when I'm in my 40s or not at all. Maybe I'm not meant for it. But that is also fine. Everything happens when it's supposed to.
