I have a Fuzz Factory I got as a birthday present in 1998. the s/n is "Z-028" .
Man, Molly Little did an AMAZING job. More of this kind of gear video!
The story telling brilliance of Zachary Vex! I could listen to that guy reading IKEA assembly manuals! :)
This pedal is a masterpiece in tone and versatility.
My favorite fuzz of all time, maybe even my favorite pedal ever. I've owned one and used it for years, and while I know how to control it pretty well now, I still stumble upon new sounds with it all the time. Super responsive to your pedal chain and amp settings. It can be 10 fuzz pedals in 1 if you know what you're doing with it
I love these sorts of animated documentaries (kudos Molly Little). Excited for the 10th!
The pedal of Matt Bellamy
I first saw the FF in an Elderly Instruments catalog in ‘98. Had to have one. Love my Vexter Fat FF, so much. I totally get it and have hours of fun with it. The best Germanium Fuzz Face ever made. Just turn down the Gate and Comp, turn up the Stab and set the Vol and Gain to taste! Many thanks Zack!
Mine is late 90s hand painted greeny. I got it at Rudy’s on 48th. There was nothing like it back then. People thought I was nuts by just looking at it. Forget when I turned it on. One of the most valuable pieces gear I’ve ever owned.
Great story, really well told. Fantastic work by director/animator Molly Little! I don't usually say this in response to marketing effort, but thanks!
Wow, that was great. Thank you for the history!
This is so super good!! Love the animation! Zack!
Thanks, Joel!
Ty so much!!! I purchased one in ‘99 (hand painted from ‘97) from a store in dallas and its been downhill since. love this petal so much and ZVEX is so awesome that they even repaired it for me a few years back for free! ❤❤❤
WOW! Who did this?! This is so good Joel! Fav bit since your Thermae video. HURRAH! More of this!
HInt: They were nice enough to include the answer to your question at the end, in that write-y bit.
Bought the FF when I first heard it, at Cowtown Guitars in Las Vegas, 1999. Blew me away. That was when Mark Chatfield (of The Godz) still owned CT guitars. From the moment I walked in and heard him playing it, till the time he rang me up, was about 4 minutes.
Zachary is the legend!
That radio sound at 2:35 really messed with me wearing earphones. That was trippy.
Just bought the 25th Anniversary Reissue! Have watched people use, listened to, and admired this pedal for a long time, and I personally couldn’t get down with it? Two, three years ago I started being able to get into Fuzz! I now have several, and totally appreciate this amazing pedal!
Thanks for the post!
Awesome ! Now I'm waiting for the 5 hours long animated documentary on the story of the Warped Vinyl !
PLEASE GOD: NOT A LIMITED EDITION. PLEASE.

Loving the smashing pumpkins Mellon collie and infinite sadness poster @0:49
One of my favorite pedals ever!
this channel has the best content I've seen in any industry/genre, hands down!
Man....i'm SO here for this!
This needs to be 15 minutes longer! Awesome!
Wow. Exactly what I I thought of when building fuzz pedals
Shoutout Joe Gore, I can hear Fuzz Factory inspiration in his own pedals
brilliant animation
this video is great! fun animation
XD nice story!!!! cool animations! ♥
After 25 years of wanting one, I finally got myself one for my birthday last week. I actually want of the "vertical" models, ya know the sort of normal effects pedal case, and it's pretty cool. One thing that I find interesting is that when it starts squawking, adjust the volume and tone control, and sometimes the pickup switch, changes the sound that's coming out of the pedal. I need to try with it a couple of my otehr guitars, see if different pickups cause different tones to come out.
Wild to see how the Fuzz Factory came to be, and how influential it’s been on fuzz ever since.
Fantastic
Thats sooooo beautifull , i have a clone, i didnt know about thia history , but for sure i got it because you can customise your own tone and the texture , i Love It , thanks
Amazing story
I hope the pedal movie has stuff like this in it
PJ Harvey's "To Bring You My Love" is one of my favs.Joe Gore contributed to this record and its a masterpiece.
ps. Check out Joe"s line of pedals as well, they are really good. Thanks for this vid, I didn't know the Gore/Z Vex connection. Thanks!!
Great Video, really enjoyed that.
So good. Love the fuzz factory
awesome stuff!
I have an old Fuzz Probe, think it should get more attention!!
great vid
Bravo!
At the 2:39 minute Mark that face kinda looks like Trent Reznor?
I bought my Fuzz Factory after hearing Doug Pettibone. His solo on Essence sounds like he ripped down a high power line and plugged it into his guitar.
This is awesome
Happy. Little. Accidents. - bob ross
What are they building in there?

Sooo....CBA x Zvex Fuzz Factory is incoming- sweet
Is this a teaser for the new pedal on Tuesday?!!? 🤔
Love it!
I love for no discernible reasons stuff.
Octavia on one side, fuzz factory on the other? ramp stab and such?
By looking at the schematic, I can tell that the oscillation we probably a byproduct of having a fuzz face arrangement that used standart negative ground with PNP transistors. That normally already generates noise (it's commonly called motorboat), but the preamp stage he put just before the circuit created much more oscillation.
The stab control is basically a voltage control. It limits how much power the circuit receives.
Is it called stability because the other effects become less stable with less power?
@@eldude123456789 maybe. The limitation in the input current and voltage affects the oscillations.
Plug in Baby
Joe Gore has a lot to answer for.
I have 2 of them.
Knew it!
✌🤘😎👍🏻🖖
The only thing to make this better would be the ability to save presets.. have all the different sounds this pedal can make saved and able to cycle through them mid gig.. but i suppose that because it interacts differently thru different guitar and amps it wouldn't be consistent.. great pedal tho
That’s why we made the bliss factory :)
@@ChaseBlissAudio How dare you make exactly what i want.. now to acquire funds 🤠
