My son - half Danish - has an interesting theory: That the traditional Danish Rye Bread is made the same way as in the stone age...as the recipe and ingredients is somewhat "primitive". The reason is simple: This is the bread Danes has grown up with, we all know how it should taste, it is une of the first staple foods most of us ever get..so we end up with this bread. I guess he is right.

How do you make sour dough starter? And what do you eat with the bread? Soup and sanwhich spreads/fixens?

Mix 1/2 wheat flour and 1/2 rye flower and mix it together with room tempature water. Let it stand out on the table for 2 days covered but make sure air can escapse so the glass won't explode. After 2 days move it into the refrigerator. After another 5 days in there will your sour dough be ready for usage. After you take some of the sour doug, add more rye flower and water too it and mix and put it back into the refrigerator.

Hello there. Is there any substitution to the cracked rye? Ready to try this beautiful bread and this ingredient is missing. Thank you.

Pretty much most of the students hate it though. They prefer English, as it’s easier to learn.

It's usually a choice between learning french or german, although some schools don't have both of those or have other languages like spanish and japanese.

Problem is historical - we have been to war with the Germans quite a few times. And German is being taught with an empasis on grammar, that spoils everything.

All that kernel crap does not belong in proper Danish Schwarzbrot, only a light sprinkling of rye flour on top is all that is needed for cosmetic purpose! 🇩🇰✌️
