Every price mentioned for the services charged by the dealer were reasonable except for the oil change. Brake service is also astronomical. That’s why I recommend to prospective buyers if you’re not willing to do some service yourself, do not buy.
I just change oil in my 2018 Disco Just oil and filter $140 labor take me 30 min So the best way do it your self Never have any problems with this car 20 miles per gallon ? Re member this is supercharge almost 400hp I love my car It tows 5000lbs like nothing
I love the Federal Government joke. That's why Margret Thatcher sold off state-owned companies such as British Layland, because they were burning through so much money.
Just finished a ~2,000 mile trip to Maine and got an average mileage of 23.8... That's not too bad considering my Silverado gets 12 with a tailwind downhill, my X3 is ~25 and our old XC70 was ~26. Where the Discovery hurts is in the need for premium fuel which was quite painful in New England gas stations.
That's why we got a TD6 HSE of it. Awesome, easy 500 miles range from a single tank even with a bit of city driving, and you can hit 600+ if it's pure highway. The worst average mpg we've gotten in over a year so far was like 23.X, and that's with plenty of city driving, and of course, diesel is always cheaper than premium gas. We had the V6 gas LR4 before, and how many times did we see the RPM over 4000? Rarely. So what's the point in such cars...prefer the much higher torque output from 1000-3000 rpm, much longer range on a tank, and cheaper cost per gallon. Yes, you have to contend with adding ADBLUE every ~6-7k miles (they say 10k but it's always shorter than that for us), but that's nothing, cheap to buy at Home Depot.
I mean drive a Cayenne S or Turbo. You'll drop $300 an oil change no prob. It's called a premium brand because Houry rates are way higher than Bill's oil and tire down the street. I think my Cayenne Also used quite a bit of oil for the 4.8l v8. You're not driving a Toyota Prius here folks. I'm also hoping LR dealer gave you a nice loaner while it was in for service or you should have asked for one. I used to have an older Audi S4 and I took that into the shop and got a brand new Q7 as a loaner for the day. I was pretty impressed with the customer service. Lower brands do not offer this sort of treatment I don't think.
b-pillar blind-spot??? the b-pillar isn larger than any other SUVs around. Are you talking about the c-pillar??? and even then, not an issue either...if you know how to drive.
Great video and review. Those maintenance and fuel costs are more extravagant than other similar vehicles in its class. Does this really offer a better value than its competitors?
The irony is that the Land Rover Discovery is more Range Rover than the Range Rover Evoque, because the Evoque shares the same front-wheel drive transverse platform at the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Meanwhile, the Land Rover Discovery shares the same longitudinal engine rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive platform as the more expensive flagship Range Rover (L405) and Range Rover Sport.
I'm guessing the $227 oil change is due to the fact that Jaguar-Land Rover imports their specially refined oil from their privately owned oil fields in the Kingdom of Saud. The oil is probably transported by JLR's fleet of Kuwaiti flagged oil supertankers back to North America where 24 karat gold flakes are added to give it that special shimmery glow. Why else would an oil change at Jiffy Lube cost just $40 for almost any other car?
Long term review 365 days of epic time ladies and germs...said no one ever. This is for people that wear socks with slip on sandals. Like what's the point of an unreliable expensive vehicle. Seems like an oxymoron, but people I guess need em jus like yeti coolers and Canada Goose jackets lol. Yuppies.
You do realize there’s a simple button in the infotainment to drop selected headrests, or all of them at the same time, from your driver’s seat?
Replaced my L322 Range Rover with a 2017 Disco. By far my favorite vehicle. Mounted BF Goodrich KO2's and now its perfect.
I was never a fan of Land Rover Discovery until the newer modern appearance. Just a gorgeous SUV

I love my 2017 Disco. Does it all.
you still like it? just wondering.
Still got it? I really want one now the prices are lower.
$250 for an oil change? Wtf!!!!
If you're worried about the cost of an oil change, you don't need to purchase it.
Please bring back Cooley!🙏🏻
No

Honestly, how on earth do you get a $220 oil change?
Dieter Rust they just topping up to change is £500 in uk
Honestly the people who would buy a Land Rover would not care about $220
@@johnq4354 Except most can't. If you're getting a loan for this, or aren't righting it off, you're broke
Do you feel comfortable/rested in the driver seat w your head a mile away from the head rest?
I love the Federal Government joke.
That's why Margret Thatcher sold off state-owned companies such as British Layland, because they were burning through so much money.
There is buttons in the front for the headrests
2:21 $227 for an oil change???....DAAAAAAAAAAAAYUM!!!
Great long term review! :)
Like bruh just change the oil yourself lmao
Great video Andrew!

Why do people purchase a luxury vehicle, then complain about maintenance costs....crazy
What do you mean? It should break down more when it's luxury?

@@Slavic_Boer I ended up getting a Volvo XC60. No regrets.
1:20 in the luxury model, there is a system for this in the OS of the car.
Those seats ♨
FYI there is a button in the infotainment to drop all the rear head rest
Probably better to dump it before the repair bills Mount anyway
Wth kind of oil is being used!?
Beard oil
Concentrated fremented billionaire's pissed
0w20 fullsynth
CBD oil.
If it just wouldn’t be that ugly.
crazy, this 2017 model is sold for over $100,000 where im from.

THANK YOU for saying what I tell everyone. Lol
It's especially clear when a Disco passes a RR on the road. ☺ They always look twice.
LAWLZ “burning through maintenance budgets like the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!” how timely! 😂😂😂😂😂
I was about to go and get but ummmm ,I'm gonna jump to Q7
Moneypit
Ah a Mercedes driver it's okay bud!
Don’t say “hella” it’s unbecoming.
Can’t take someone who sits that close to the steering wheel seriously when it comes to car reviews.
Every Land Rover owner knows their dealership well. They need to go there frequently as it ages!
I've had mine for 6 years and have never been more than once a year. What's your own RR experience?
Just purchased 2020 discovery 1 day latter differential oil leak god help me next 5 years of my loan
How did it turn out?

you were changing oil for that discovery .. or does it like to sniff heroin :-D .. auto Drug dealer !!!! Ripoff's :-D
220 dollars for an oil change? Lol. Thanks but no, I take a Grand Cherokee or Durango with a HEMI over this problematic Brit.
Paul M and the dodge durango has a button to put the headrests down.
1 year isnt "long-term"..
beside its very low value, too expensive to buy and too expensive to maintain.. with not much to gain.
Hard pass!
This may be one of the ugliest SUVs ever made. WTF were they thinking with that back end??
