    You do realize there’s a simple button in the infotainment to drop selected headrests, or all of them at the same time, from your driver’s seat?

    Every price mentioned for the services charged by the dealer were reasonable except for the oil change. Brake service is also astronomical. That’s why I recommend to prospective buyers if you’re not willing to do some service yourself, do not buy.

    Just finished a ~2,000 mile trip to Maine and got an average mileage of 23.8... That's not too bad considering my Silverado gets 12 with a tailwind downhill, my X3 is ~25 and our old XC70 was ~26. Where the Discovery hurts is in the need for premium fuel which was quite painful in New England gas stations.

    • @raheeb1
      @raheeb1 4 года назад

      That's why we got a TD6 HSE of it. Awesome, easy 500 miles range from a single tank even with a bit of city driving, and you can hit 600+ if it's pure highway. The worst average mpg we've gotten in over a year so far was like 23.X, and that's with plenty of city driving, and of course, diesel is always cheaper than premium gas. We had the V6 gas LR4 before, and how many times did we see the RPM over 4000? Rarely. So what's the point in such cars...prefer the much higher torque output from 1000-3000 rpm, much longer range on a tank, and cheaper cost per gallon. Yes, you have to contend with adding ADBLUE every ~6-7k miles (they say 10k but it's always shorter than that for us), but that's nothing, cheap to buy at Home Depot.

    I mean drive a Cayenne S or Turbo. You'll drop $300 an oil change no prob. It's called a premium brand because Houry rates are way higher than Bill's oil and tire down the street. I think my Cayenne Also used quite a bit of oil for the 4.8l v8. You're not driving a Toyota Prius here folks. I'm also hoping LR dealer gave you a nice loaner while it was in for service or you should have asked for one. I used to have an older Audi S4 and I took that into the shop and got a brand new Q7 as a loaner for the day. I was pretty impressed with the customer service. Lower brands do not offer this sort of treatment I don't think.

    The irony is that the Land Rover Discovery is more Range Rover than the Range Rover Evoque, because the Evoque shares the same front-wheel drive transverse platform at the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Meanwhile, the Land Rover Discovery shares the same longitudinal engine rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive platform as the more expensive flagship Range Rover (L405) and Range Rover Sport.

    I'm guessing the $227 oil change is due to the fact that Jaguar-Land Rover imports their specially refined oil from their privately owned oil fields in the Kingdom of Saud. The oil is probably transported by JLR's fleet of Kuwaiti flagged oil supertankers back to North America where 24 karat gold flakes are added to give it that special shimmery glow. Why else would an oil change at Jiffy Lube cost just $40 for almost any other car?

Seems like an oxymoron, but people I guess need em jus like yeti coolers and Canada Goose jackets lol. Yuppies.
