I reckon you might be right...having said that, not been to the other two yet. I doubt either of them will beat the smell of the chippy or the lovely village green!
as a telegram boy in Selby (James Street), I often had to cycle out to Wistow, I remember fog and using the kerb to guid me., later at the museum Hall Saturdays I would dance with girls from Wistow, how lovely they were.
