    Our hope is that this video can be a refuge for our viewers during the storms of life. There's something about this music that envelopes the senses and hides us from worries and cares. It's an emotional escape that shelters and replenishes humanity. If you are struggling right now just know that music and Jesus Christ will always be there for you. When other sources fail these two never will.
    The Backstory
    We hiked a symphony orchestra, timpani and all, down into a meadow on the backside of Mount Timpanogos during the peak of Fall colors. The camera crew recorded sunrise to sunset shooting in 4K. Bruce Wilson flew his state of the art drone over half of the mountain range looking for imagery to match the musical depth of Holst’s Thaxted theme. The Philharmonic performed the entire Planets by Holst not too long ago. Few musical moments can compete with the satisfying experience of performing that section of Jupiter. The Philharmonic was putting together an album of sacred music at the time so
    Director Kayson Brown arranged this setting of the tune for that purpose. It combines the two worlds where the Philharmonic is most active - classical and inspirational music. This tune has been set to numerous texts for dozens of religious hymns as well as sports and patriotic anthems. It seems to nurture the humanity in each of us. For those less familiar with the text to “O God Beyond All Praising” by Michael Perry they are: “O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay; for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end: we lift our hearts before you and wait upon your word, we honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord. Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring, that we who know your favor may serve you as our king; and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we'II triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still: to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.”

    Two years ago (10th Sept 2016) my beloved wife of 35 years passed away. She was surrounded by family and went peacefully away in the gentle morning light. Oh how I miss her so much and wish she could still be with us. But time waits for no one and now she's gone to a better place where there is no sickness or disease. In due time I hope very much I will be with her when my time comes. This music gives me hope for that folks.....
    God Beyond All Praising
    O God beyond all praising,
    we worship you today
    and sing the love amazing
    that songs can not repay,
    for we can only wonder
    at every gift you send,
    at blessings without number
    and mercies without end.
    We lift our hearts before you
    and wait up on your word;
    we honour and adore you,
    our great and mighty Lord.
    Then hear, O gracious Saviour;
    accept the love we bring,
    that we who know your favour
    may serve you as our king,
    and whether our tomorrows
    be filled with good or ill,
    we'll triumph through our sorrows
    and rise to bless you still:
    to marvel at your beauty
    and glory in your ways,
    and make a joyful duty
    our sacrifice of praise.

      I think you'll find inspiration in the middle line:
      The flower of earthly splendor in time must surely die
      It's fragile bloom surrender to you the Lord most high
      And hidden from all nature the eternal seed is sown
      Though small in mortal stature to heaven's garden grown
      The Christ the man from heaven from death has set us free
      And we through him are given the final victory

    Oh my goodness...this is just transcendent and sublime. The melody "Jupiter" has always been amongst my favorite tunes, but as I was searching for the gravestone of a friend who had died 2 weeks ago, the lyrics of this hymn overtook my mind and brought me to tears. The magnificence of Almighty God..the precious souls of all ages who have died...Your post was so healing. Many, many thanks for sharing such beauty and very talent youth.

      Etymologically, Jehovah and Jupiter are the same God. Jupiter, or Jovis blended and became Jehovah, and vice versa. So it's wholly appropriate you found Jupiter. God indeed works in the most subtle and mysterious of ways. Names are names, but divinity is unutterably awesome. He reached me through Jupiter. No matter what name he reached you or your friend as, may he hold you both in the palm of his hand.

      Do you realize that there is NO MENTION OF ANY GOD IN THE WORDS OF THIS WONDERFUL PIECE.
      HOLST did not intend this to be about ANY GOD.
      He was not religious but you just can’t stop yourself can you, you have to bring god into this where the composer had NO INTENTION OF INVOKING GODS OF ANY KIND.

      "Thaxted" is a hymn tune by the English composer Gustav Holst, based on the stately theme from the middle section of the Jupiter movement of his orchestral suite The Planets and named after Thaxted, the English village where he lived much of his life. He adapted the theme in 1921 to fit the patriotic poem "I Vow to Thee, My Country" by Cecil Spring Rice but that was as a unison song with orchestra.[1] It did not appear as a hymn-tune called "Thaxted" until his friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise in 1926.[2]

    I vow to thee my country, all earthly things
    above,
    Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love:
    The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
    That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
    The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
    The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

    Omg! Beautiful music, beautiful county, beautiful musicians, beautiful souls. I'm a classical pianist and clarinetist and love this theme and your rendition of it. I keep coming back to this video.... there is something very sad and lonely about it - perhaps the young lady left out in the beginning who seems to search and eventually find the source of peace, the music. Not sure - but this is highly emotive. Such a wonderful rendition of this classic and powerful piece of music. It would be amazing if your orchestra would go on tour - I am sure there would be an amazing reception here in South Africa.

    This is SO BEAUTIFUL!! OH MY GOODNESS. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I just love this- and I love the words to Thaxted that go through my mind as I listen. (Words by Cecil Rice)-
    I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
    Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
    The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
    That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
    The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
    The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
    I heard my country calling, away across the sea,
    Across the waves and waters, she calls and calls to me.
    Her sword is girded at her side, her helmet on her head,[6]
    And around her feet are lying the dying and the dead;
    I hear the noise of battle, the thunder of her guns;
    I haste to thee, my mother, a son among thy sons.
    And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
    Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
    We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
    Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
    And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
    And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.

    I just purchased this on Itunes. I listened to many versions but this was the best instrumental version. I'm still searching for the vocal version. Fantastic job and video. You know a song is great when it can bring tears to your eyes and despite years of loving classical music, I'd never heard this that I can recall. What a great find and thankfully it was on Itunes.

      " I Vow to Thee, My Country" would be the "vocal version" that was made from Holst's Jupiter. An unofficial/ official British "anthem"
