I called LG customer service, they asked me to do a factory reset and it worked. It's annoying because this is a bug and we shouldn't have to reset our TV in the first place.

I think sometimes we want Him to fix us but yet we interfere with His doing and try to fix ourselves when He is already fixing us. Do you need an Apple Tv connected to your LG Tv or is it a feature that the LG Tv already includes?

You shouldn't need Apple TV at all with this method BUT my iPhone (an 8s running OS 12 in 2021) will not show a connection option in the TV dialogue. You'll probably need the latest LG software version running in the TV and the latest iOS version running on your phone.

Have you tried the LG TV Plus app? You can have a cursor like on the magic remote. I have a question, can you use the voice command on the app? Many people said that the voice command will work only on android app, not on iOS app.. can you clarify? Thanks!

For those who can't find AirPlay in the Home dashboard, you may have to do a factory reset (Settings --> All Settings --> Support --> Reset to initial settings). Once you go through the process your AirPlay app should show up again. Unfortunately this will also delete all your user settings so you'll have to login to all the apps again.

@@Gemmavanderhorst I somehow fixed it by restarting the phone 2 times. I first turned it off with the _value up value down hold power button_ method then I restarted my phone manually. That was my fix.
