I appreciate the effort in creating a training video. That's always a good thing. However, your videos would be even more helpful if you 1) really slow down mouse movements, 2) avoid extraneous mouse movements by doing only slow, straight line movements to and from drawing to the toolbar 3) always hover over everything for a few seconds before you click on it to allow the user's eyes to keep up and to allow tool tips to activate and add more info for the user to know what you are clicking on. Once again, thanks very much for posting. Just sharing some things I've learned about enhancing the usefulness of training videos.
First things first, make the terrain a group. Once you have created the terrain, create some squares/rectangles that are larger than the terrain you made. Position them at intervals going up the terrain, making sure that they intersect with the terrain all the way through. Then simply select the terrain and the rectangles, right-click and select Intersect Faces > With Selection. Remove the rectangles and terrain group and you should be left with faces and edges that follow the terrain you made.
@phogevideos Thanks for the comment, however, terrain can be created on any of the templates, the one i was doin in that video i think was 'architecture / feet and inches'. But, like you said, you do need to select the Google Earth templates, IF you are making terrain that you wish to be exported into Google Earth.
@vasosfromcyprus94 As we knew this question would be asked sometime or another we decided to make a tutorial on how to gain access to the tools, as sort of a pre-emptive strike.
Dude, you need to talk. A person can either read the words or watch the instructions. The words go to fast. If you're afraid to talk, use the voice generator on your computer. Thumb down
Before you click to select the starting point of the grid, type in the measurements box (bottom right corner in the video) the distance of spacing you want. Note: The box will have the tag 'Grid Spacing'
