Very helpful video! My Molly likes to be a mother and be milked too! Today is the day she’s supposed to be dried off by and she’s producing a little over a gallon on once a day milking. I think I’d be OK to stop, but she has a history of mastitis so this video helped me understand what to do to slowly dry her off, thank you!
Thank you! She really is a sweet girl. We are so blessed to have her in our family. Thank your for taking time to watch and may God richly bless you friend!❤️
She is such a good girl. I think God had me in mind when He created her. We do spoil her but she’s earned it🤗. I have always loved grooming our horses and now our cow. It’s so good for the soul❤️. Thank you for taking time to watch. God bless you!❤️
Thank you so much! Lily is a jewel. I like to think God had me in mind when he created her🥰. I may do an update in the near future because I feel like I need to clarify a few things so first time cow owners will have more confidence when it comes time to dry up. This video was just a bit in the casual side. Thanks for the wonderful feedback and God bless you❤️
This was such great information. I just bought my first family cow. She managed to get pnuemonia in transport and the milk will be unusable for a month post treatment. Considering drying her off now instead of October. She is due to calve in December. Thanks for confirming the method I was considering.
You're quite welcome! Transport can be stressful and can set even the healthiest cow up for pneumonia. Sounds like you're giving her the best of care❤️
What a nice video! I read that book (together with Mary Janes Butters - Milk Cow Kitchen) before I got my first cow. This two books are must read for a cow owner, I think, so much information there. Lily is a great little sweet cow.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback! I agree! Those are my two favorite books on cow care and dairy too. Lily is truly a blessing. I often say God had me in mind when he created her🥰. Thank you for watching and God bless❤️
I’m putting links here to the book mentioned in the video and a great little video on Joann Grohman. She was a great ambassador for the Jersey breed and just a neat lady all around. I think you’ll enjoy watching. ruclips.net/video/qpcrAUtmMWc/видео.html Keeping A Family Cow book: hambydairysupply.com/keeping-a-family-cow-284-page-book/
Thank you so much and that is a wonderful suggestion. Look for it soon. It may be in our next Cabin Chat. Thank you for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day and God bless!❤️
Interesting video! I dry Odie boy with a towel. Yesterday was his bath day and for me a towel always works great for drying him. Hey, how is Lily? Is she prego yet?
🤣🤣🤣Stan you are a hoot! I’ll have to try that next time!! We are sure hoping Lily will give us a calf in October. I’ll have a good idea in a couple weeks but will take her for a vet check in March. Did you get your cards? BTW you are spot on with your videos in these days. God bless you friend!❤️
@@LittleCountryCabin yes Ma'am I did get them and I even did a video at that time shouting y'all out and showing what I bought with one of them. With the other I bought some fencing material to put around my bees that are being given to me in March. I have to keep the wild and crazy pigs and deer away from them so they don't get tipped over. Prayers for y'all, Lily and your new grandbaby. (Assuming Lily gets pregant.)

Hi guys God bless you. I was wondering if you could make a video on how you prevent milk fever in Lily before and after calving
