  • The Edfu Temple is one of the best preserved monuments in Egypt. Tareq takes us though the legendary battle between Horus and Seth. The Ptolemaic rulers may well link with Daniel’s prophecy (11:3-35) of the division of Alexander’s empire into four smaller kingdoms. The Egyptian portion of his empire was ruled by foreign Greek rulers, who portrayed themselves as Egyptian pharaohs. Imhotep is here also, and the essential oils recipe room, where the knowledge of the Egyptian essential oil comes from. A really beautiful Temple which was protected by being buried under sand from centuries.

Apologies I didn’t know what direction Tareq was going and only had the phone microphone to pick up his talking points. Tried my best! 😊

So irritating that the tourist guide fills virtually every frame. I came to see the temple of Edfu but saw a man instead. Abandoned halfway.

Sincere apologies, as just a tour attendee, I tried my best to record the information from Tareq! I was just using my phone so had no other microphone so if I couldn’t keep up close with Tareq I was stuck! Other tour attendees probably took loads of photos and footage of the temple. When the guides finish speaking we might have 10 minutes for other photos, or we went back to the coach etc because we were on a tight schedule! Tareq had over 30 in our group to lead through and keep together. I was probably very annoying to others because I was trying to keep close to him. Some of my film footage just wasn’t good enough, either the audio was not clear or I had been moving too quickly. It was so hot I had to use a wet scarf wrapped around my phone to prevent it from overheating, if it did I had to swap phones into the gimbal! On the last evening of the tour people asked if the tour sites would be filmed professionally for CMI, they said it simply wasn’t possible and would cost thousands to do!
