For those who need to hear this: - Ciri was always meant to be Geralts successor. As mentioned in the video, Geralt retires in the Witcher 3 and one of the games endings has Geralt giving Ciri a Witcher sword, passing the mantle in a way as she starts her journey to become a witcher. In the trailer we actually see the same sword, as iirc it has the same engravings though the blade itself looks a lil different. - Unlike another Henry Cavil beloved franchise, The Witcher has always had female Witchers! In the books they were considered almost mythical due to their rarity, but they did exist! And the school of the cat is the most known for its female Witchers. The inlore reason for 98% of Witchers being male is because boys were more likely to survive an already unlikely proceas to survive, so it generally wasn't worth the risk to try. - Ciri's Witcher medallion is that of a Lynx, a new school, but is something to pay attention to. A Lynx is a type of cat, and as previously mentioned, the school of the cat is the most well known school for female Witchers. I would bet that Ciri becoming a Witcher is partly with the help or knowledge of the School of the Cat in someway. - Though an adult is less likely to survive the Trial of Grasses, its still possible. And being as powerful of a being as she is, im sure what could be considered as "Downgrading" to a Witcher from the Lady of Space and time, her chances of surviving are probably higher than the average adult. - Ciris Elderblood and status as a Lady of Time and Space is an interesting factor which we can only really theorise on. For one we know Ciri hated being such, and so i wouldn't be surprised if she leapt at the risk of becoming a Witcher if it meant suppressing or even ridding herself of the lady if space & time powers. As the creature in the trailer mentions, she can't escape prophecy, which has always been something shes tried doing. Becoming a Witcher would most definitely be a way to throw a wrench into prophecy. My other guess, is she may still have her powers, but elects not to use them, again for prior reasoning. Personally, I'm really excited for the Witcher 4, I'm going to have faith in the developers and when it eventually comes out I'm just going to hope I have a PC good enough to run it.
This is false and incorrect. There are no female Witchers in the books as the women that do go through the trials all die. There are also no extended schools in the books just Witchers. This concept was popularized by CDPR the Witcher mutations in the books are also heavily implied to be better geared towards the male endocrine system. I don’t know where you are pulling your information from
@@DNye That’s just bad writing though, even with her elder blood. They need to provide a reason for why this path was taken. The world has also not needed Witchers as humanity has advanced. Ciri is a good character and I love that she’s the protagonist but they have to write it in a way that makes sense.
Think its going to be a good game. I would really rather play a male protagonist personally but regarding people crying over a playing Ciri and how it conflicts with the lore, i really could give a rat's azz about taking creative liberties with Andrzej Sapkowski's lore, as long as CDPR does well in its execution.
@DNye Because : 1.The Witcher mean Male Witch. "er" is a masculine suffix. 2. No female being a Witcher. 3. Ciri is too old for the trial. 4. She already has her own power set. Her doing signs don't make any sense because Geralt and co tried to teach her and she could never do it. She also can teleport but in the trailer she can't. 5. This game breaking the lore. 6. This Ciri is just DEI Geralt
Well it sounds like there is a whole new game that could explain all this. It’s interesting to make these inferences when we haven’t even played the story yet.
Such a negative mindset , what about monster hunter wilds , gta 6 , elden ring night reign, I mean bg3 came out just last year and was a literal shake up to the entire industry
@@adammurray6015 the show should have never been live action, they should have made it an animated series like this trailer.. u simply cant capture the grim feeling of this world in a live action production, it will always look goofy

CDPR delivers. If they can avoid cyberpunks launch issues then they will be fine.

I guess Ciri is built different

I’m sure the Witcher 4 will explain it
DNye im so hyped for witcher 4 can't wait to explore this new world definitely gonna pre order it 😊🤔
I hope they don’t make us wait to long to play it!

If they have good writing in this game then I’m sure they will make it fold into the story real well
Already hyped
same! Playing some more Witcher 3 this weekend too. I cant wait for this game!
Hard passing the school of the LGBTINX...
nowhere was lgbt stuff mentioned, ciri has been the main character and, on the topic, a lesbo since the books lol.
Bc they chose a girl?

I have little faith... sadly 😒
Meh the future of gaming is in the past.
Idk this game could be really good. CDPR has made some amazing games.
Because of gamers like you. So negative these days
The original devs that made those great games left the studio long ago.

they knew they wouldn't be able to pull this shit if henry cavil was involved.
Why’s that?
I commend Cavill's dedication to the lore, but he was a terrible Geralt. The whole show was badly cast.
This looks so much better than the show.
