- My first time trying this new reversal chemistry by Branco Ottico. Of course, I wanted to see if Roba Apposta works in 8x10 (and oh my, it does!), so we set on an adventure in rainy Florence, jumping fences with my large format camera and balancing on slippery stones above the Arno river... but the results were worth it! You can see my reaction! This stuff is magic! Oh, and it inverts paper too :)
The darkroom processing of the 8x10'' negatives is followed by an interview with Davide Rossi, the man behind the chemistry. Full version of the talk -- • Roba Apposta B&W Rever...

Hi Lina,
it's not new, TETENAL Germany sold such chemistry since the 70s of last century ;-)
Works with all type of b/w negative films which based on a clear carrier material.
But you are right, it's really fascinating!
It's a bit different from Tetenal's because it works with papers, but yes, it's mentioned in the interview that the process isn't new!
Rollei has such kit, but in general you're just using bleach (h2o2 with citric acid) after bw developer, then fogging it with light, doing second bw development and fixing as usual. I went totally lazy lately and cross-processed Ilford's XP2 Super :D instagram.com/p/BuZ1Vh6gwRN/
I think the best feauture of this is "papers" - need to try it B)
@@KonradSarnowski yes, the principle is this one. Love the shots you made!
Wonderful video. Great stuff. Great to make your own b&w slides this big. Suggestion as a next challenge for you: building your own large format slide projector. Love your work. Please Carry on!
Thank you so much!!!
Wow...very cool! I’ve never seen anything like it :)
Apparently they've done it in the past, but I personally was really surprised and loved it
First visit. Fantastic! Thank you!
OMG that is beautiful
Wonderful... I'm waiting a RA-4 color inversion.
what dedication..
Stunning as always
Now I have to try this to produce internegatives!!! Alt prints without computer? Wow thanks for sharing this!!!
Brilliant :-) I'm SO gonna look this up :-)
What is the model of the camera please?
quei colpi sono stupende e ben fatto Lina bello sviluppo kit troppo
Interesting for large format- also interesting to see that Mississippi is used to count seconds outside of the US.
I went to an American school... :)
@@linabessonova oh that makes more sense :)
How does it work? Is it turning the blacks white like a tintype?
That's quite interesting. I wonder if the first developer can be substituted for something like HC-110 Dil.F? That's what I use when processing lithographic film I exposed in my Graflex, it gives me a much smoother tonal range when compared to what the film was designed for (and it's a lot cheaper than panchromatic film).
This developer is film and paper, so I doubt about using HC-110!
Is this good for photogravure?
What are the rubber ducks for?
For the mood!
Ciao Lina , ma lo sviluppo con luce rossa? Non totalmente al buio?
Thanks for sharing. It looks like you did a little retouching to the negative. I would love to hear you talk about how you do your retouching on negatives/positives.
no more content???????? come on lina we miss you.!
I miss you guys too. I have new content, I need to film the talking part though. And getting in front of the camera is the hardest part!!!
Интересно, каких насколько больших размеров можно сделать отпечаток с такого позитива.
какого угодно, был бы увеличитель! :)
It's just a slide transparency.
Hi Lina! This is really cool but there's already reversal film still made by Fomapan! Called R100. And Ilford makes positive paper.
What's so unique about this? (Other than its 8x10 negatives and not 35mm and smaller!) I'm curious
It's not film or paper, it's the DEVELOPER that inverts both papers and negatives of absolutely any brand
@@linabessonova cool! Would be interesting to try out! Will it be available at The Photography Show at Birmingham later this month?
Positive paper has insane contrast - totally different thing ;)
@@KonradSarnowski yes, exactly. This one gives a gorgeous tonal range on any paper. I mean, exposures have to be adjusted and handling fiber is trickier, but what I've tried on RC is amazing
I thought Ilford stopped selling the positive paper.
will this come to the us?
Awesome video. I love the use of red. The process looks very interesting.
Thank you! The process is beyond cool
Could you shoot straight to paper and then use this to get a positive print? (skipping the negative altogether)
Yes, absolutely! However, you have to be careful with fiber papers and wash them really really well
Same nane, and spelling 😊
What about music ??!!!
My brother think me watching porn movie 😂😂😂😂😂
But really good work 💪💪
Good luck from Egypt ❤
:-D
I hated the music, but loved how the big reverb splash decayed into the ambient sound of the river...genius
I think you never tried the chemistry of Klaus Wehner from schwarzweissdia.de ... If not, give it a try and you will be suprised!
Mamma mia!!!
Lina is a proof: Analog Photography is not only for old farths!!
Суппер !!!
Hi Lina, Great channel I always enjoy the content of your videos however as a viewer i would have preferred simplified editing of the video and minimal use of the music( in this video i found it very distractive, sorry but this is my honest feedback) Keep up the good work ,lam looking forward to your new videos. Greetings from London.✨
OMG, that RING on her finger 😍
Интересно, спасибо.
woOww....beautiful work....but not as you....Ti AmO AmOre miO...
