I really like Kenny Payne. That said, it was just an ill-advised decision by Louisville to hire him for the HC position. It was just too much too soon. He needs to develop as a head coach at a lower tier program where he won't have as much pressure and will be given the time he needs to grow into the position. I think Kenny's a man of high character and good basketball knowledge, and wish him the best in his next chapter.
I can’t believe Kp is blaming the fans he is literally tryna manipulate the whole situation and blame fans not his lack of discipline his lack of knowledge of coaching just fans it’s crazy
KP didn't blame anyone. He's coached for years and they're begging for him to go back to Kentucky. Sounds like your one of those "fans" you think he's speaking about. You must be a fan not an Alum...
@@enlistedprofessor4369 Your response is absolutely asinine. Kenny has been in coaching for years, but it's clear he is not a head coach. In two seasons at Louisville he couldn't recruit, his teams had no identity and were completely unorganized. It's ridiculous to accuse someone of being a "fan" because 12-52 wasn't good enough and for a coach to point the finger at the fans because they didn't show out for the debacle that has been Louisville basketball under Payne. If Kentucky is "begging for him to go back", best of luck to him.
@@enlistedprofessor4369what press conference did you watch?! Even his best friend could see that he couldn’t coach d-1.! What stats are you looking at?! Is this a personal opinion?! I personally like him too!! I don’t like losing! This press conference is gonna be historic! Good luck at uk 🥱
@@enlistedprofessor4369 WTF does it even matter if he's a student or an alum? 😂. I know PLENTY of alum that don't know basketball a lick. So because they are "alum" they get more say over a fan that actually LIVES in the area their entire lives? Gtfo of here. Corny. Nobody is rooting for Louisville unless they are FROM Louisville. And if they are FROM Louisville then they have every right to speak their peace. It's their university. They damn well help pay for it. Area donations make these programs run.
I don’t know if it’s just me or what, but Dusty May does not excite me. Neither does Josh Schertz or none of these up and comers. It’s Scott Drew or bust for me. We’re Louisville. We need to start acting like it. Offer Drew top 5 pay and top notch NIL. Get it done.
scott drew would be unreal idk if he’s leaving baylor. but i agree with Dusty May, think he’s a little overhyped and got flat out lucky last year. seeing the correction this year a little with FAU. Schertz is good I just don’t think he is ready for a job like louisville. anthony grant could be great he’s a great coach and has been consistent as hell at dayton
Sean Miller would bring that fire back to the program... His teams always takes on his personality... He's a top tier X's and O's coach plus an excellent recruiter...
Just bad coaching. Period. Too many excuses and lack of head coaching experience has exposed him. KP didnt know the game good enough to win for a head coach. Team defense was atrocious overall and thats his and his assistants fault.
Didn't the Titanic ultimately sunk anyways... Why in the heck would you stay on a sinking ship...
