yes, you can do it, however some home theaters do not power their USB port when you are choosing AUX function.

If you do a proper test of these or any other cheap bt-recievers from China (I've tried 3 different ones, including these) you'll find that all of them have very poor analog to digital conversion losing the lower frequencies (bass). Just try switching between these and then cutting the middle hand by connecting the headphones/speakers (preferably headphones) directly to the source. The difference should be obvious.

Yes it will lower you sound quality and also you'll hear little buzzing but very annoying noise so i reccomend to go with wire
