Well said, the ps2 was my childhood console and still the holds the most nostalgia.i literally played every game mentioned and I never realized how many great platformer titles i enjoyed on the ps2. thank you
Well said. Naughty dog are the biggest disappointment. They can put that effort on releasing a 3 year old last of us part 2 remaster that has no business being remastered. But won’t touch a Jak. At this point it’s clear that Even if Playstation announced a remake of Jak, it would be a soulless cash grab at this point. Insomniac showed us they truly loved ratchet no matter what, in fact they love Jak more than naughty dog does anymore. I think that’s down to Andy Gavin the creator of Jak leaving naughty dog after Jak 3 if im not mistaken. You hit the nail on the head in this video. Nintendo realised very early what constitutes fun. They have their flaws but they at least produces 100s of real games whereas as Sony and Microsoft rush to make the shiniest piece of crap

That insomniac leak also points to there not being a ratchet game for a LONG time. Have you heard of Akimbot? It inspired (or ripped off depending on who you ask) by this era of games. Also, someone revived the multiplayer for Up Your Arsenal and Deadlocked. They've got a youtube channel called Horizon Private Server
I'm personally diving in back to the PS3 cause of Jak & Daxter collection, but I'm going to pick up the Sky and Ratchet collections also. This is the kind of stuff I miss which honestly PS4/PS5 is lacking. Every game feels like a movie now, and there is simply way too much going on. I prefer these more simple games that you actually PLAY.

Jak series was peak platforming fun to me and is the series that along with Tony Hawk made the PS2 my favourite console of all time.
