With everyone freaking out over the newest 14.1 Patchnotes mentioning Micro-Transactions in Escape From Tarkov, No One even noticed the INSANE Changes they just did with Armor in Tarkov. In this Video we will go over all of these changes they made to armor, as well as some of the bugs that were fixed with armor in EFT so you guys survive more raids!

Escape from Tarkov is a massive multiplayer online combat simulator with RPG elements developed by Russian Saint-Petersburg-based game developer, Battlestate Games. Set in the fictional Norvinsk region located on the frontier between Russia and Europe, the metropolis of Tarkov was plunged into anarchy thanks to the Contract Wars. What was once a bustling city, is now roamed by rivalling scavenger gangs and former private military forces and black ops units. Between them all, there's you, your stash, and the escape back to the free world from the depths of Tarkov.
This video isn't up to my standards and I apologize, I will do better moving forward.
If you really care, delete the video, fix it, and reupload it, as it is, many people are going to be misinformed because of this.

5:20 - Airwingmarine tested the ear hitbox, it was never coming out of the head, like you showed on Ulach. You are and were able to shoot through gear
Massive over exaggeration, although still a big tickle me pink fan. It did extrude but more like 3/4 inch-5/4inches.
Anyone crying about this change is just mad that it's leveling the playing field for people who don't have 1k hours each wipe to play.

Helmets don't change the size of the head hurtbox, once a bullet lands on the PMC head model the game checks the hurtbox assigned to that surface, then checks the armored areas value of the equipment before calculating damage. For example try shooting a round between the gap in chops.

rip rounds are still worth using because there is a bug where rounds with less than 20 pen cant fragment so nothing changes at all

Ear hitbox shouldn't even be a thing from the front imo, it should only matter when shot from the side

@@nocodenoblunder6672getting grazed in the ear won’t kill a person. If it’s from the side then it’s also shooting through the rest of your head and that will kill a person.

You are correct, a d fragmentation altogether hasn't worked for at least 3 wipes. We know because Gigabeef tested it a few wipes back and it barely worked and only on arms if I remember right. This dude is making some of these changes up.
You're correct, I've tested it multiple times. If RIP rounds or RIP slugs etc. actually fragmented they'd be able to two tap sometimes, but they never have any never will as of yet. 556 FMJ used to be great due to the fragment chance tho.

you explained how helmets don't change your head hitbox size and then you give the advice to avoid helmets with ear protection because it makes your hitbox larger...

The helmet hearing range is truly emblematic of BSG’s design comms. Which one is really the bug? Re-equipping head gear to get full headset hearing range, or the normalization of all hearing ranges to begin with?

RIP ammo still has incredible flesh damage though, surely it's still useful to leg meta people
to be very clear, fragmentation has never ever worked in tarkov, testing going back almost 5 years now made it clear it just didn't work flat out. I'm glad its off, it was just something like "Crit Chance" like in league of legends, super dumb
This is not true, it worked on specific body parts in pvp situations. It has also been turned "on" or "off" several times before. Are you familiar with the bug where people believe AI shoot multiple rounds at once? This is fragmentation and AI arent hit by the body part constraints.
@TickleMePinkGaming from what I'm aware of that double hit thing was a bug and has come back a few times with players also being able to double hit. additonally I believe that rounds like RIP couldnt fragment at all due to being under 20 pen. and if it's being turned on and off with players not having an accurate way of knowing a round crit, it shouldn't be turned back on.
I might be totally wrong but seeing how almost everyone here is saying different things about it is clear no one knew how it really worked 😅

Is the level 2 and 3 neck armor really going to save you this late in wipe? I seriously doubt it. Maybe some scav guns but that's about it

Is fragmentation in 14.3 on? I killd an Scav today with an AP20 to the chest and the endscreen say five hits. It was only that one kill, he had that small rig with plates.
But anyway tomorrow goes 14.5 live...
Got 1 tapped in armpit by a scav with 5min left in raid while wearing korund last night…guess im just unlucky😭

Wish you went more into blunt damage. Got one tapped to the chest by a scav. Plate blocked the bullet and I had 4 instances of blunt damage that killed me. It makes me wonder if low pen ammo does or doesn't have some value it was fmj but I forgot to check the caliber

Is no one else rly sad about them making arms the most impenetrable armor in the game. Now if I shoot someone facing me most of the shots are absorbed by their arms :(. Doesn’t feel very good to play.

8:40 any ammo with pen value lower than 20 couldn't fragment at all, flesh ammo is unchanged in this patch
I had a feeling that they would tamper with armor again. There are just too many chest-rig armor sets. It would be so weird to have 10 chest-rigs that are next to useless and outclassed by some of the earliest armor in the game

Did they adjust the earpro stats between v13.0 and v14.0, at all? Could be mistaken, but I thought I noticed an improvement in hearing quality without earpro during 14.0.

i dont really get what you mean by "making head hitbox larger" because visual model is not the hitbox and bullets cant hit visual model of your helmet. hitbox is always the same
