I can confirm that the 100 horsepower Rotax 912S is the best engine choice for the aircraft. Spectacular takeoff and climb rate with that much power! Even better, it cruises in level flight at 50 or 55% engine power, so it is very quiet and the fuel burn is so low--about 2 US gallons (8 liters) per hour. The other engines get the job done well but they work harder to do it.
@TheInfamousOne79 In the video we are just a few hundred feet (or meters) high. Later in that flight we climbed to about 3000 feet (1000 meters) to get over some clouds. The aircraft is very capable up to 10,000 feet (3000 meters).
Nice bit of flying! Thinking of getting some floats under my old Pegasus Q Ok, I'll have to fly solo because the Rotax 462 only has about 50 hp but it will work. Plenty lochs to fly from here in Scotland! I'll have to wrap up, it's not as warm here as where you are!
With the biggest engine (100hp), titanium landing gear, and a nice instrument panel, about $55,000 US for a new one. Sometimes we have used ones with smaller engines for about $25,000. They are one of the least expensive aircraft to own and operate.
We put a quieter exhaust system on that aircraft since. Aircraft are inherently loud but now this is one of the quietest ones out there. Cheers, Michael FLYAMPHIB..com

A great little machine. Just the thing for getting about and away from it all. But what about the noise and noise abatement?. Just as you had flown out of hearing range from that band, another lot hove into earshot.
Yeah, but with the added weight, I would not take any engine less that a 80 h.p. 912. In fact you should strive for a 912 in any two seater trike of anykind. Two strokes dont warn you when they may decide to seize or just quit. They also use more gas per hour for less performance. I'm just a realiable four stroke guy ;-)
The endurance is over 4 hours, and the cruise speed is 50 miles per hour, so the range is over 200 miles. Some license is required in most countries. We offer training and testing for the FAA license in the United States. It is fun training. XLFLYING.com
AWESOME..... Life doesnt get much better than that!
This thing is hyper cool! I would like to live in Seychelles and buy one Gygnet. Maybe some day...

Wow this looks like so much fin I wish I was there with you guys :)
Nice wing cam!
Awsome! What kind of range does this thing have?? Do you need a pilots licence to fly it?
Technicians are happy too.

that would be great for an archipelagic country like ours
LOVE IT !
@AVMamfortas The band. The band music. THAT was the noise I referred to.

Rotax 912 80hp. Rotax 912S 100hp is also available and is my new favorite.
Yes you can. But leave the wing on and you always have access to the third dimension. These are like a 3-D boat.
