***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 3 new videos every week! Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we transition from city dwellers to full time homesteaders!
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.
For those who are handy, you can build one of these yourself for half the cost. The material used is residential chain-link fencing posts and rails. All you need to make is a jig to bend the purlins. If you want a larger or stronger structure, use commercial material which is thicker. Cheers!
You two are something else that's for sure. You are running a farm, greenhouses, animals, planting, canning, freezer-drying, and I have seen the kitchen, clean as a whistle! The two of you together can tackle any project. Thank you for taking the ADDITIONAL time and effort to share your knowledge and experiences with us. My project is no where near all that you two have going on. Just bought me a simple OutSunny Greenhouse, 10' W x 20' L x 7' H. Maybe one day I can graduate to getting more done. God Bless
Nice to see a husband and wife work together with respect for each other’s way You will need a calm day for the plastic.
Ya'll are such an inspiration for so many folks...I for one am super grateful for ya'll every day...
I know this is a few years old, but thank you for showing the whole build. I can see that myself and a few friends could get this up in a couple weekends! I have bought land in southern Missouri, Oregon county, and knowing that it can be too hot or too cold or too wet or too dry, a greenhouse is really a necessity, where the growing conditions can be better controlled. Plus a couple of your newer videos talking about how a greenhouse will replace HALF of your current garden, I am KNOWING this is what I need to do! Thanks again.
Who needs background music 🎶 when you have turkeys!
So good to see you smiling and making 2020 plans after your health scare....God is Good...
Great!
Now I want a greenhouse!
I love watching you two work together. God bless.
Good on you two for working side by side and showing both your children and others what a united family can achieve!
Yes I agree, love you guys! A real love story ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸
It sounds like one turkey just trying to get a comment in every little bit! It's so wonderful to see y'all working together and getting so much accomplished! I was able to work that way with my first husband. It was great! 💕😊👍
I have watched several other homesteading you tube channels, but I enjoy yours the best!!! You guys are down to earth and realistic. It's great if you can live off grid, but for most of us that isn't a possibility . I like all the practical advice and honesty you guys deliver. You remind me of myself and my hubby. He is also my best friend and we love working together. Lots of luck this new year🙏
ya, i don't know how you two keep a straight face with the turkeys adding the laugh track
Morning Kevin and Sarah, I am serious when I say you should put yourself out there for hire for a few familys who buy these because you guys do a outstanding job!!! I know you are both so excited to get in there and start up your seeds!!! If I lived within 75 miles of your farmers market I would be buying from you guys!!!! Can't hardly wait for the next installment of installation on the green house, have a awesome day! ☺
Jenenda 🍅🍅🍅
If you haven’t already put the plastic on I can recommend adding some extra bars between hoops so you have something to tie plant supports to for tall crops.
Sarah honey you are working so hard after health scare ... worried about you honey... oooh but what a team you and Kevin make... good for you guys
God Bless you All.
Lol...your turkeys sound like a "laugh track" on a tv sitcom...lol...or hecklers!!
Yes they do!
Yes, that's exctly it!
I just wanted to thank you for all the entertaining and informative videos you've been sharing with us. I can't get enough of them and I really can't quite figure out why. I live in a little apartment in Northern Virginia. In addition to having no yard or any personal outside space, my apartment faces East so I don't even get enough sun for some decent house plants. Despite all this, I am totally absorbed by your wonderful style of living and can't wait for the next video to come on. My only complaint is that they seem SO SHORT. I didn't want this one to end. After all, you never know when you're going to be called upon to build a greenhouse, or a duck house, or .... (fill in the blank!) I guess it comes from my very early childhood in Ohio. My dad always worked in an office but our first house had a tiny back yard that backed up to a cow pasture. The dairy farmer there (a man actually named McDonald!) was constantly yelling at my little sister and I because we figure out how to stomp down the wire fence between our properties so we could wander into the pasture and pet the cows. It was not uncommon to wake up in the morning and find cows grazing in our back yard! I guess I'm just trying to recapture a tiny bit of my youth. LOL. Anyway, I wanted to thank you and wish you all a very happy new year!
I am pretty much in the same situation as Mamie. Do not live with any land to grow on but my childhood was on a farm and I still love all things growing. I watch you two every day and agree that I would like them to be longer. You two are the smartest people on youtube. Love you.
I grew up on a farm in a very isolated area. By the time l was a teenager l could not wait to be old enough to escape to the biggest city on the continent and have all the wonders of civilization......l got it and have been displaced and never eally fitted in. Now l yearn to go back to a simple life .
Your videos are really well done. Very descriptive and to the point. Can't wait to see what you're planting in it.
the turkeys have great timing and are right on que
Great video! You make it look easy! Thanks for sharing and God Bless!
You all are coming right along with the building of that green house and that is great and I wish you all the best as you complete that project.
i so love hearing the turkeys! Can't wait to get some chicks! Awesome job both of you! Team Kevin/Sarah!
Sarah we smile when the turkeys gobble, we saw you smile the first time they gobbled.
Great instructions. Calm and clear. You guys could specialize in built it yourself videos. Obviously the turkeys agree with me. They crack me up.
Love the turkey talk!! They have lots to say...can't understand but love it...be safe. Bless you all.
Hi guys! Really appreciate seeing you go through your greenhouse build, step by step. A greenhouse is on my wish list and I have a feeling I'll probably be building it myself. So it's really helpful seeing all of the little stuff going in. Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing the raised beds in there!!
Everytime Kevin runs the drill, the turkeys answer it. So funny!
It's looking good guys. Uplift is a problem here in the Midwest. Screwing them into the post will help but concrete on the 4 corner post at a minimum is the only real way to feel comfortable.
Enjoying the build videos!
Chuck
Your turkeys sound healthy and content. They are noisy but not as noisy as geese. Looking forward to watching the green house build.
I love your greenhouse. Can’t wait till ya plant seeds. God bless
So enjoy watching you guys work together on the greenhouse its coming along so nicely. Enjoy the turkeys in the background. God bless💖
That turkey makes me giggle every single time. You guys make building a greenhouse look super easy.
Thank you for this series!!! After a year of looking at greenhouses we just ordered one (so excited) because we know how frugle you two are while wanting the best quality. Thank you!!!
Very nice video on your greenhouse install. It's moving along fairly quick. I look forward to the plastic going on. Thanks for sharing!
Kevin, I did notice something, can't remember if the Rd Bales you get have protective wrap on them. If not, Might to use some of your ground cover material under bales, keep nutients from leaching out.
Again, Greenhouse looks awesome.
Thanks for sharing
Love that little Butane torch . I must find one. Thanks
Absolutely Guys, I picked up my Greenhouse last month, and your videos are helpful to my setup.
Can't wait to see the food that will come out of the new greenhouse!
Beautiful People's Happy New Year
Love your team work, you both are great and the turkeys too...
Great to see your new greenhouse going up. You two work so nice together and explain things so well. Thanks ! Can't wait to see it completed. God Bless ! Chuck from Perryburg Ohio.
Looking great and doing your way makes it so much easier. Can't wait to see end result. One tip may want to build Raised Beds and fill before putting one end on so can get dirt into Boxes easier. Just a thought. Peace Be With You ☮️
Very good thinking !! Yes it will be so much easier. God bless
Greenhouse is looking great! 👍🏻
Love the sound of the turkeys. Good luck.
This weather has been great Michigan I have my frame wood gothic arch 16 wx24 lx14h might get my plastic on This week. Thanks for your videos
I like hearing the turkey gobbles in the background...🦃🦃🦃
Love seeing you guys back in 2020 the greenhouse is looking good how is hope the cow well take care and God bless your family I will always keep you in my prayers
I was off the internet for a little over a week and I missed you two. Your videos are always delightful and instructive. I also love the fact that you both cook and that you work together as a team on the farm. I look forward to a new year of great new videos. Happy New Year. From Mobile, Alabama
What a great project, y'all are doing such a good job, but that doesn't surprise me. I love the closeness, and teamwork you two display in your videos. I'm not naive, I do know that there's disagreements from time to time. But usually what you show is what you know.
God bless ya'll,
Jimmy
You’re amazing!!!!! So talented. You both amaze me
So glad you guys have this to add to your "clean" food supply. God bless you and your girls.
When you use pressure treated lumber in your gardens make sure you check the 'ingredients'. I had a strawberry tower made from pressure treated wood and it gave me arsenic poisoning.
I think it's amazing how well you to work together as a team in every aspect of your homestead ..i just love watching your channel I've learned so many things and you've given me so many great ideas
Great video. I'm anxious to see the finished greenhouse.
I'm watching every step, this way when it's our turn to buy, and build it'll be easy to complete.
Thank you soooooo much. Your fantastic. Please keep helping others like myself who need a little bit of help. I will have to see if this can be done by myself but it think I can get the bracing that I will need for the other end of boards etc. If I can I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again and God bless.
So loving this series. So hoping you are going to show us the raised beds and how you build then to filling them. God Bless
Super cool! It's coming along quick!
Thank you for the instructions on putting the greenhouse together
I love watching your videos. Such good detailed instructions no matter what the subject. Thanks 💕✌️🌱
Progress indeed!! All in their places with bright shining faces; good morning to you!! Soul hugs n ML!
If I ever get the opportunity to own a piece of land, I know for certain a greenhouse will be an addition to the property. Up until recently celery was selling for $4.99 each (a bunch) at the local grocers...If I still have to pay that price for celery at least I know I could grow other vegetables for basically free. Happy New Year to your family from mine. :)
Hi guys good morning to you and your family hope you are doing great I would like to wish your family a wonderful bless and great new year 2020 be happy and stay bless
Great work! I wish I had one sitting in my yard to put up 👍
lol the turkeys are only heckling you Sara! 😂😂😂
I’m so enjoying your greenhouse project that I got inspired to order a teensy little one for my condo screened porch to try lettuce year round! Can’t do much outside as I back onto a green belt with a creek that deer use as a superhighway around our small city of Oak Ridge Tn. I fed them beautiful hostas all last summer, ha ha! Also, today my Lodge 5qt Dutch oven arrived, and my first batch of Kevin’s bread is sitting resting for those three hours. I’ll have hot fresh bread for supper with chicken tortilla soup from Laura at Garden Answer! Have a blessed 2020!
Really enjoying watching the greenhouse come together. Your instructions are spot on. Happy New Year and God Bless you all.
Happy New Year! Love your channel and watching the two of you working side-by-side living off of the land, and common sense solutions to sustain yourselves and family. ;o)
Sarah you look so pretty in that outfit with your hair like that:). I’m trying to grow my hair so I can just throw it up, and it’s taking me forever. Your hair is So healthy and shiny it’s an inspiration!
How wonderful to have such level property, you two are so smart in finding that property. Good for you..such vision!
gobble gobble gobble, love the turkeys.

So great. Loads of salads and cold crops.
I just love those Turkeys! they are putting there two sense in. The Greenhouse is looking Awesome again. I can't wait to be able to order our greenhouse

Good morning! Beautiful green house. Happy New year 🎉 🎊 and God bless
Looks so nice can't wait for the next video!
Turkeys doing well they sound good, now can we have a MOO! From the cow.🐔🐮😀
Great video Kevin and Sarah, you two have made this project look so easy. Thanks for sharing with us,you’re doing a great job.
have a blessed day
Kevin, great details and explanations. I've wanted to build one for over 15 years (I know, waste of time), but with overhead trees that drop stuff daily, squirrels, shade, I haven't. Maybe I will a small 10x12 with these plans.
Watching this playlist. It is going well for you. I cannot wait to get mine bought. Just found your channel a few months ago after another channel I follow suggested you. Keep up the great videos.
Wow you're almost done can't wait to see the finished product..... Hope the weather holds out so you can get this finished!
buy a 'dewalt' bit holder to extend that driver bit on your impact...really saves time and makes life easier!
in fact get several and put different tips in each one...Wish the city would let me put a green house here in my yard...you are blessed! Good job on the project!
Love the turkeys
Lots of instructions and tips! 👍🙏❤
Hello from Arkansas. The greenhouse is looking great. Y'all are doing a great job explaining how it goes together. Have a super day.
Blessings
Happy New Year 🎊 look forward to spending 2020 watching your videos 🤗
Oh my goodness! The turkeys talk back to Kevin’s drill!
Starting the year off with a big project almost done - good for you guys.
The greenhouse is coming along nicely. Love the turkeys. It's almost as if they are commenting on the video.
Happy New Year , Kevin & Sarah ,
I don't have the money to build a greenhouse such as yours. So I am building one with cattle panels. One problem was how to have more width and still have enough headroom. Ah , a 2" X 12" base will do it , which will provide both more height and width. I have learned here in Ohio that snow load may be a problem so I will place a vertical center support in the middle. Kind of a pain to have to work around it but better than having it collapse. My most costly single piece is the covering. I am taking a cue from you and am putting in a weed block flooring . I used a cardboard floor with the first one which did work for awhile but it is not durable. This time I am doing both ! Cardboard with the weed block over that .
Great series. The greenhouse is looking great
WOW! You guys are awesome!
I have read that you need to reseal the end of pressure treated lumber after you cut it.
I have been looking at this thinking it could be used as a mechanical shed if you left the end open
In all the videos I have watched you are the first to use a post level everybody else uses a standard level
You guys are going up in numbers,
CONGRATULATIONS... love watching you guys, work soo good together.. nice working with your best friend... looks great...
