- Wireshark is a free and open-source packet analyzer. It is used for network troubleshooting, analysis, software and communications protocol development, and education. Originally named Ethereal, the project was renamed Wireshark in May 2006 due to trademark issues. In this video, we'd show you how to install this analytical networking tool on your ubuntu 20.04.

when i try install -qt ubuntu says that i need to install wireshark-common then dependencies to istalll libspandsp2 etc etc (
Mine just says "Couldn't run /usr/bin/dumpcap in child process: Permission denied" and then "Error by extcap pipe:
** (process:28077): WARNING **: 14:21:04.569: Missing parameter: --remote-host"
same
The actual installation starts at 1:31
Please share how to capture the packets
It says cannot locate wireshark, what i'm supposed to do?
4:54 but how to capture local traffic from network interface enp2s0/eth0/wlan0 ??
im guessing sudo apt install wireshark isnt an option in ubuntu choosing a distro with the app in its repo would solve that .. i have to wonder why you consider giving tutorials in apt to pentestors is a useful topic for a video and why not just give the scriptkiddie wannabees a tutorial in google and man that at least would teach them somthing
Hi Mike, I hope everything is working good for you. apt install is an Unbuntu option, you can use either "apt install packagename" or "apt-get install packagename"
anyone here know how to actually install it?
Why? so scared to perform commands on the terminal.
@@py_world 😐 no I actually did everything like 30 mins after I commented
