It seems like this is a common problem regardless of vehicle manufacturer. At least this one was semi easy to get to. I've seen quite a few different vehicles where you have to remove the dash. Great video as usual👍
Thanks for the great video. I am dizzy from watching it, not an easy repair. I once reset the blend door actuators by putting them through the relearning process on a Hyundai Sonata. It returned the air flow to blowing out of the selected vents only. I recall hearing something about setting the climate control to off or recirculate mode while driving through a car wash to prevent the blend doors from being tossed around.
I had the same issue and thanks so much. It's important to get those screws hidden by that top panel, lol. I made the mistake of trying to do this without taking that entire glove box frame out of the housing. Without taking that out of the housing, it's impossible to get the new one in there and there is maybe an inch of slack for the power plug, for the new one to plug into.
ford hvac systems can be a bear.i love my old fords but replacing heater cores in them really tries my patience.generally takes me 3 to 5 walkaways & 50 Mother F'ers to get it all right & done.
Good explanation. I've done a handful of the actuators at work as well. I've noticed that they are coming in more often once they hit about six years out here in Arizona. Are you seeing a similar trend out where you're at? 🐺🔧
Holy crap! Almost 6 years exactly! My 2016, hot on one side cold on the other. Im thinking about doing it myself instead of going through horribly inconvenient warranty.
You're doing a great job even if the camera moves a lot. Don't be down on yourself. Thanks a lot for all the information that you do on your channel. On a different subject I found a set of sockets for removing those stubborn lug nuts on Fords and chryslers. American made Ad family
Sorry about that got cut off. Family run company in the US very nice people. Owners answer the phone for customer service. Let me know if you're interested.
Blend door actuators are just one of those things no matter what model car that will always manage to piss a guy off lol our hands aren’t meant to contort the way you need to install some of these lol
No you got to look in my videos in the library under 1.5 L coolant intrusion it has nothing to do with blowing head gaskets it's a defective block go back in the library and start watching the videos there's a lot of them and I show everything
While you are trying to put the screws holding the blend door actuator into focus, it almost looks like the harness plug is not fully seated into the module...
Everything was connected I can assure you that I mean I don't know why we're going here on these videos I'm showing you how to replace something that's broken and then we try to take things somewhere else because of what we think we see instead of learning about what's going on in the video I promise you everything was connected so let's not let there be any more discussion about that to retract from what's going on by me teaching people
mr. Ford mechanic have you ever came across a problem with the Ford Explorer sport 2013 blend door that is not the problem but still wants to circulate heat and air condition when it’s set for low and air condition mode but on the passenger side ice, cold air on the driver side and never gets cold
Well, I can hand turn it. It seems to be shutting on the AC side and the heat side. It definitely puts out more heat when I had to shut it that direction but then when I turn it the other direction it gets cooler but not as cold as compared to the right side cooler, air condition, air coming out are they any other sensors that I’m missing maybe another blend door that I’ve missed I’m going after the blend door under the steering wheel are they any other blend doors on the driver side that may I have missed that would be letting the heat in with the air condition
So you said something could be jammed up I think that’s the problem. I’m having with the blend door actuator on the driver side Mr. Ford been replaced the blend door motor, but it’s just not letting air conditioner through, but it’s not real hot air either it’s only 80°. What’s coming out of that vent And I have set for low climate control passenger side is putting out cold air condition air on the driver side. It’s only cooling down to 80 in recommendations, suggestions I can hand turn it. It gets really hot one way and only gets 80 at the way I do feel it turning.
I just did this with my 2014 explorer and I’m still getting cold air on that passenger side. But when i took the old gear and put it in the box and try turning it, it just flips all the way back up it wont stay in the down position or stay in a position. And my new actuator gear just turns when i took it out of the box freely . Is it supposed to do that. Any feedback would be amazing , thank you .
Hey I had a question about FDRS programming, I was doing IPMA update and it failed and now the module is purple in FDRS, PMI keeps failing too afterwards when I tried running, fails to flash a file F120 ML3T-14H102-MDM, any idea why it might fail to run these? There was nothing wrong with the module beforehand. Using autel maxiflash vci J2534 passthrough.
I can't really help you too much on this especially on the newer stuff I only know about the factory programming and through fdrs there's actually a recovery program whenever things fail so I don't know what to tell you
Any chance your familiar with this issue on my 5th gen explorer 3.5 na. Engine runs great and trans shifts smooth as new. When the vehicle is in drive and foot is holding brake down, the engine idles with a rough almost grinding type noise. No rpm fluctuation, just doesn’t sound right. Have you seen this issue before?
Dude it could be a thousand different things you're going to have to get it in and have it looked at because noises are not very nicely displayed over message you need to either make a video and put it on your own RUclips If you have an account that means you can post a video and that way you can link it to me for me to listen to what you're talking about rather than just giving me words because it's almost impossible to diagnose words on engine noises
@@FordBossMe gotcha. Just thought it may be a common issue that you’ve come across with these explorers. I have forscan and no codes, no misfires. Thanks for the response though!
I can tap on my passenger actuator to get mine to switch from hot to cold if it sticks. My problem is, IDK how to get to my driver's side actuator to tap it because now mine has reversed on me and my ac is stuck on on my driver side. Grrrr.
@@FordBossMe yeah it seems to be common among us 21s. A lot of fellow Raptor fellas are reporting the same thing. If I put AC on ‘Max’ it helps, but here in Phx during the summer, that whole corner of the truck is hot 🥵

He’s getting the hot and cold treatment 😮

Idk I don't work at the dealer anymore

Have to remove the tank on that

Didn’t there use to be a FSA or TSB for reprogramming for this?
On the edges
Maybe on the explorers as well but this has already had all updating done
I knew 100% that wasn't it
My ac works on driver side but blow hot on passenger would this help fix the problem
It could it's either a programming issue or typically a blender has went bad the motor that moves that I mean

Put little piece on electrical tape end on the socket to hold the screw
