- I bought a wrecked 2000 VFR800 for $350 and now I am trying to bring it back to life. It, however, is fighting me. A rusted gas tank, a PAIR valve delete, a head gasket replacement, some valve lapping, engine removal - it's all here.

Hat's off to you for trying to save this VFR. I bought an 2001 like 8 yrs. ago with 15,000 on it. Great shape. I do all my own maintenance bearings, changed steering head to tapered. 520 conversion chain. ABM straight bars. Now have 72,000 and bike runs excellent . People are surprised when I tell them the year and miles because looks like new. The longer I own and ride this bike really grows on a guy. I could cruise high speed for hours, if I can get away with it. Good luck.

Hello i just picked up a honda vfr 800 2000 and im having it go up to 246 temp and fans dont turn on so im gonna change the coolant tomorrow and get a look at whats going on ... other than that it runs fine idles between 1.4k to 2k and its got 56k miles did oil change a week ago with new filter ... love the videos and its helping me understand alot about the bike ! ive had 3 vfr bikes and i love them first was a 1998 then a 02 and now back to the 5th gen with a 2000.
