    • @williamtoad8040
      @williamtoad8040 4 месяца назад

I’m going to say this once and for all, what KD did would be the exact equivalent to LeBron leaving Cleveland after losing the 2009 ECF to the 59-23 Magic to join them right after they lost the Finals to the Lakers where Kobe finally proved he can win without Shaq. Then the Magic win three consecutive titles from 2010-12 before getting injured in 2013 then joining two top tier guards on the Brooklyn Nets. Imagine how much more fodder that would’ve given LeBron haters had he done that instead. They’d be calling him LeQuitter, LeCoward, etc.

Great video! Agree with most of this. My corrections below (using your voice):
1960's, Michael Jordan. He was born in 1963 and his mere presence on our Earth influenced Wilt and the rest of the players of that decade.
1970's, Michael Jordan. His early high school footage took social media by storm and it prompted that decade to get their best basketball in now before it's too late.
1980's, Michael Jordan. Magic and Bird colluded to make the most of their rivalry knowing Jordan was on his way to the NBA.
2000's, Michael Jordan. You know he played on the Wizards, right?
2010's, Michael Jordan. Lebron wanted to be just like Jorda..excuse me, the GOAT. He came up short though, and all the credit goes to Jordan. Just like copyright infringement laws, this too would hold up in court.

While I completely agree with Barry, the only thing that irks me is his main argument for Lebron over Jordan being how weak the 90s were when we all saw how weak the East was during the 2010s. Obviously it’s not a clear cut answer and that’s why the debate will exist long after I’m dead, but his main argument seems to be doing the one thing he hates and that’s overlooking one person’s situation to prop up another.

Many of those teams didn’t win a championship, because they had the unfortunate luck of playing in the same era as the GOAT. There is no way the 90’s was a weak era and anyone who thinks that is obviously clueless. In fact you could argue that’s the best era, or very near the top. I stopped watching after you said that. Pretty good list and I agree with most everything. There are 2 things I would change, the first is I would have Bill Russell as the player of the 60’s. Wilt has the stats, but if you read articles from the time period and listen to interviews with players from that period, most say Russell was superior.
Secondly I personally would’ve put KG over LeBron for the 00’s. They each won 1 MVP, but KG had more points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, and also won a title in the decade. LeBron is unquestionably a better player than KG, but KG’s résumé in the 2000’s is exponentially better than LeBron’s.

Wait, 90s era with Hakeem, drexler, Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Tim Duncan, Shaq etc was not weak. By that logic, in 20 years time the new NBA fans are going to call lebron and his era weak. Talk about "context" without using one🤦🏾‍♂️ plus I see so much disrespect to the older eras. Lebron wouldn't have been lebron if bill Russell, Kareem, magic, bird and Jordan did not do what they did

I don’t think Barry (and others) are claiming the players in the 1990s were worse, just that they were all spread over different teams, so there were no real strong strong teams like there had been in the 1980s and would be during the 2010s.

    60's Team:

    Bill Russell
    Jerry West
    Oscar Robertson
    Elgin Baylor
(This is an absolutely filthy squad from scoring, height, defense, rebounding and passing perspective, easily the most well rounded team)
    70's Team:
    Kareem Abdul-Jabar
    Walt Frazier
    Bob McAdoo
    Bob Lanier
    Elvin Hayes
(Great team that would dominate the 50's but would struggle against the height of the 60's and shooting capabilities of later decades)
    80's team:
    Magic
    Bird
    Young MJ
    Moses Malone
    Older Kareem
(This team could really do it all and is probably one of the filthiest in terms of offensive firepower and flash, this would be an incredibly hard 5 to beat, but they do lack defensively compared to 60's and 2000's)
    90's Team:
    Prime MJ
    Hakeem
    Charles Barkley
    Karl Malone
    Young Shaq
(Really big team with great defense and post play but would get their lights shot out against the older decades)
    00's Team:
    Timmy D
    Prime Kobe
    Young Lebron
    Prime Shaq
    MVP Dirk
(This is probably the best team of the list, shooting, defense on the perimeter and interior, strength and physicality)
    10's Team:
    Prime Lebron
    Kevin Durant
    Steph Curry
    Chris Paul
    James Harden
(The most gifted offensive team ever assembled but too small defensively and not great defenders with Harden, Paul and Curry)
    My ranking:
    #1 00's Team
    #2 80's Team
    #3 60's Team
