  • www.truthforlife.org - (1 Samuel 1:3-18) In times of prolonged suffering, we can easily grow bitter and resentful toward God and others. Unable to conceive year after year, Elkanah’s wife Hannah was familiar with sorrow. This woman of faith did not hide or minimize her pain, though; rather, she brought her affliction before God in prayer. Alistair Begg explains that when we, like Hannah, recognize that our circumstances are under God’s sovereign care, He enables us to find peace and hope even in the midst of unresolved trials.

We live in a world where challenges and dilemma’s exist, but God’s providence reigns over all and He has the power to use every situation for His Purposes.
God is always in charge, regardless of life’s circumstances and knowing God is in control of our lives and that He cares for us deeply gives us a peace and joy that is uncanny to others who do not know Him.

This guy is great.A superb Pastor and expsositer of the word.I'm still struggling with tidbits of pride or resentment at times...Jesus can root out such last vestiges.

Praise the Lord for His word! This sermon ministered to me. I have made the sovereign Lord my refuge and in Him I have found peace beyond understanding. The testimony about the missionary, Helen on how she reconciled God's testing to His lack of answers was so close to my heart. When I accepted Jesus in my life, my circumstances didn't change but my countenance did. I didn't need all the answers. Just knowing God is in control was enough.

This greatly encouraged me to respond in trust to some promises that I believe God spoke to me when I was younger but have yet to see anything come to fruition. Thank you.
