I would love for you to just do a purely travel-based show where you tour the world rating skateparks. “Awww man, John only gave my local 2 Ollies out of 5!”
Not a bad idea, but I think just rating parks is kinda dumb. Especially if you live out west and southwest where people already have access to a ton of parks. I think rating CITIES and in turn countries for skating would be way better. Cover the best street spots, parks, skate shops and the local population's view of skateboarding as a whole.
me and my friends used to hop the fence into that LC skatepark... there were like tree seeds and sap everywhere so you could barely cruise around, and all the obstacles and ramps were metal installations so your board would sometimes get stuck when going up the ramps. they eventually just took everything down and are making a pickleball court.
They are NOT cracks. They are joints. You have to put joints in the concrete to give the concrete somewhere to crack in a uniform manor. If you don't have joints then there will be random cracks all over the concrete.
As a long-time viewer, I fell out of watching skate youtube around 2021. Something about the new videos whether it be the lack of redundancy in topics or what has really brought me back. Great stuff, man
As an older skater, seeing you starting to learn slappies is super fun. There are tons of variations, then learning to go from one grind and pivot into another is very cool.
These were the two local parks I learned to skate at. Many many beautiful times at both. I broke both my wrist at crescenta valley skatepark on that hubba last summer and it seems like its an end to my skate career. This video was bittersweet
Always enjoy these videos, and yeah: skate your local features and work on the things you “suck at”! I’m actually a 51 year old scooter rider, and I always take away good thinking from your videos. My skateboard is my “chill out and relax” therapy when I start taking the scooter too seriously, so it’s nice to have a “no pressure, do whatever” level to my minimal skateboarding.
9:14 The drain behind it is a sick hill bomb as well. And also the grassy hills behind the park you can hit if you have soft wheels. The hill bombs all over that neighborhood are sick too.
Hey, John! I came to your channel through being a long time follower of your awesome wife's! It has been so fun watching all of the videos you post. I am 36 and I have been a longtime roller skater, but I am just now trying to learn to skateboard for the first time ever. Your content is keeping me inspired, especially because learning tricks is one of the hardest things I have ever done. It is nice seeing you and other skaters be persistent even when you aren't landing something the way you want to. 😂Making me home sick for California so bad as well! Keep being rad. :D
i read almost your whole comment before i realised you are not a guy.i was thinking"man this guy is out of line" because nobody calls my wife awesome but me! lol im such a dick
Love your vibes and progressive mindset man keep doing you!!! Don't listen to the haters, they are envious of your lifestyle of productivity and progression since all they do is get shit faced and wallow in their own sorrow.
as a curb person i'm curious, how do you learn ledges without learning it on a curb? no hate, genuinely just wondering where you started like did you just go straight from flatground to rails?
@@sundragon2419 work your way up 🆙 of course. I actually envy those guys for their technique. I started out on small curbs and worked my way up. I now have to work my way down. Skating is full of ups and downs. Thanks 🔥🔥🔥
1 mile from my place. Park is kinda meh but it’s nice to have one so close… you didn’t bomb down the gutter tho ! there’s a sweet snake run thing if you follow the path from the curbs you finished the vid with
I enjoy the feeling of cracks and it could lead ur tricks to be better and more consistent that way, preparing you for street skating with not perfect spots and giving u an additional challenge to land a new trick
I can't understand how can you visit a new skatepark each day without repeat another. In my city you will able to film a couple of videos and you're done.
if you ever come to the uk it would be good to see what you think about the parks here stoke skateplaza is one of the better outdoor ones here though tamworth is my local would love to see what you make of them
I was really enjoying this video. So glad you’re back in CA. Just stay far away from LB for goodness sake. Anyway I noticed something kind of distracting. Around 8:16 your fingers start to flicker in and out of existence. Is it glitch caused by RUclips’s uploading process?
best part of that park is its only like 7 years old and they just designed it terrible there was a totally different concept originally and the city scrapped it and made that instead
lets see slappy john hill? That would be rad to see, you can already kill a ledge. I don't see why you couldn't learn slappy tricks. Isn't everything waxed in California, I never quite made it there being in WA state. You just did a blunt, that's maybe the hardest curb trick outside of nose blunts.
I would love for you to just do a purely travel-based show where you tour the world rating skateparks. “Awww man, John only gave my local 2 Ollies out of 5!”
Travel Channel needs to do this!
Would love to see this funded and come to life.
I would absolutely Patreon that shît

That is alot of traveling cost.

that will be like the tennis court that nobody used but your not supposed to skate on in case someone does some day in the distant future
West coast is spoiled with parks
7:17 love the skater clap right after u nailed that trick 😂😂😂

bro moved from texas crust to complain about cracks in a skatepark
they are joints, not cracks, he is crazy
More skateparks should have micro mini ramps like the one at the preschool park!
Those are seams in the concrete
Love seeing you skate transition!! Please skate it some more, it gets ears and more fun
These were the two local parks I learned to skate at. Many many beautiful times at both. I broke both my wrist at crescenta valley skatepark on that hubba last summer and it seems like its an end to my skate career. This video was bittersweet
I loved that sound bite around 9:20 that I used it in my FPV Drone Competition I'm in for little Drones called Tiny Whoop. Awesome videos man.

John uploads, I watch, it’s a simple trade off
9:14 The drain behind it is a sick hill bomb as well. And also the grassy hills behind the park you can hit if you have soft wheels. The hill bombs all over that neighborhood are sick too.

I love ledges and handrails. I can’t slappy or transition anything.
as a curb person i'm curious, how do you learn ledges without learning it on a curb? no hate, genuinely just wondering where you started like did you just go straight from flatground to rails?

Love the bit 6 minutes in where you describe your learning process
You may not get the most views, but out of all youtubers I watch you consistently have an amazing like to dislike ratio thats fucking awesome
Im about to move back to SD. Glad im not the only one moving back to socal!!
1 mile from my place. Park is kinda meh but it’s nice to have one so close… you didn’t bomb down the gutter tho ! there’s a sweet snake run thing if you follow the path from the curbs you finished the vid with
Lovely video. I enjoyed the 360 nose attempts 👏👏👏👏👏
I enjoy the feeling of cracks and it could lead ur tricks to be better and more consistent that way, preparing you for street skating with not perfect spots and giving u an additional challenge to land a new trick
You could just bring some quick set epoxy to the parks and fill the most annoying cracks :p
I wouldn't be surprised if you got a series on the travel channel
Love the vids John!
I’m so beyond thankful for your videos. I always look forward to every time you post. It’s the sunshine my day always needs!
Lol
I can't understand how can you visit a new skatepark each day without repeat another. In my city you will able to film a couple of videos and you're done.

That replacement trick was awesome!!!

My local skatepark
Open 3 days a week for an hour at a time? What? Definitely worth all that money to ARC.
I guess that’s technically a double sided curb just not a 6 six wide one 😂

Love your content John! Keep it up!
HI JOHN

I love you John but, I had to thumbs down cuz I want that damn treflip nose manny next vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok
🛹🛹🛹
Pickleball = Mid life crisis sport for people who don't have knees anymore.
They would have knees left if they would have skated.
John have you been to stoner skate plaza it’s pretty cool
It would be nice if you showed these kids and promoted them if they are that great at skateboarding
13th
Dude complains way to much about cracks lmao
Is John still drawing? I don’t so much mean content wise, just in general
Crack is wack
You’re not gonna pin this..
