The largest covered skatepark in the US is the Washington Jefferson skatepark or W J. It's located in Eugene, Or and I'm lucky enough to have it as my local park
So privileged to have been able to grow up on this skate park. These pics don't really do it justice, but I really appreciate the recognition because the park hardly ever gets mentioned.
@FGamer34 Pronounce it how you speak. I'd pronounce it care-ns too. Australians just pronounce it ''Cans'' because they don't pronounce their r's. Correcting people on that is like an Irishman correcting you for not saying Dublin with an Irish accent.😜 Or those really annoying people who correct you for saying Barcelona and not Barthelona.😂
yep, australian accents are non-rhotic so we don't generally pronounce the /r/ sound. that said, Cairns' /r/ is not pronounced because.... its farken straya
Hey mate .... I designed the park in Guangzhou .... it was a bit of a shit fight ..... we spent 10 days there at a landscape architect company office .... hardly any of them could speak english ... we spent hours doing sketch up designs only to see hours later things changed and garden beds put in place .... I did a number of different design "themes" in that street area for them to choose one ... but they just didn't understand .... after the 10 days we flew back to Australia .. waiting for edits to send back and forth ... but we heard it was just canned ..... we got paid 1/3rd of our quote .. which just paid for our flights and accommodation over there .... then like a year later we heard it was being built ... our first thought was the design was never finished ....... I went over there for 2 weeks to oversee some parts of the construction of the big bowls .. lucky I did as they were about to totally fuck them up .... the contractor was some building company, cheapest bidder from way out in the provinces that didn't have the first idea about what they were doing .... cutting corners everywhere .... I was just shaking my head at every turn ...... so basically it was a total fuck up .... I hear it is closed now due to a death .... so I have the distinction of designing a "Killer" skatepark...
Nice video, thanks. Rampworx is mainly geared towards bmx. I remember when they got the UKs first foam pit and the place was packed when it opened. They used to change stuff around a lot too. Like there was a long half pipe right in the middle between the two sections but that got turned into a wooden bowl. I havn't been for years though, never really skate parks at all anymore. Right at the back there was a long long pretty steep rail if i remember right that was a lot of fun to fail on lol. I remember a dude trying to ride a go cart off a table in front of the shop there and snapping his ankle, his foot looked like it was nearly coming off.
There’s a really good skate park in my city. It’s super tucked away and doesn’t amass big crowds at all. The people there are super nice and really encouraging to new skaters. It’s not so big at all since it is located on a very steep hill but it’s very deep with two layers. A hill full of ramps and bowls culminating in a 4m tall damp at the end and then a concrete lands by above that with a bowl in it. I really like it there. I’m a fairly feminine roller skater who’s new to parks so often at skate parks I’m not made to feel that welcome. Its nice to be in a place where people will bother to learn my name and let me have a go around on the bigger bowls.
I lived in Cairns for 16 years, right across from that park, the images on here are a little out dated though, but even after 16 years I always found new tricks to try there
i was hiking around lake cunningham once and randomly ended up in the middle of the skatepark. didn't even know there was an entrance! in the south bay we have a ton of skate parks these days in SJ and santa clara etc.
I’m surprised Lynch park in Boston (technically Cambridge) wasn’t on this list considering it was built in 2016 and $6.1 mill to build and living just a 20 minute drive from it I’m so lucky too have despite the cold
rampworx is my local indoor, there is the big box room with the boxes, resi and now a spine where the foam pit was then there is a bowl with 3 tiers small section with a mini ramp and mini spine as well as a pump track and then there is also a street plaza in a other room
I grew up in Santa Clarita. That park was built after I stopped skating, unfortunately. The park that I had growing up was up the road a bit from the current park, and it was pretty mediocre. I’m sad I missed out on such an awesome park.
I’ve lived 5 minutes away from Cunningham in SJ for two years now. Still never been. I think I’m afraid I would get over confident and hurt myself. Full pads and having to pay isn’t the greatest either.
I lived in San Jose for 6 years and lake Cunningham SK8 park was my local park. It's amazing to skate and it's right next to a lake and raging waters. they now allow scooters and bikes and they made a dirt BMX track that goes around the outskirts of the park. It cost I think like $12 to skate but it's well worth it
Most people say that skateparks in the uk are terrible and as someone in the uk I have to say they’re making a big change on that thought with how many massive parks they’ve been building recently
So you’re telling me I’ve been living 10 minutes away from the biggest skatepark in North America and I’m just now finding out its the biggest skatepark in NA. I remember when they started building it, it was on my way to school. I also remember thinking that it would be overrun by thugs because it’s in the hood
I found out that I lived 10 minutes from the largest skatepark in NA... like a week before they finished building the North Houston park. I never even skated my local park until AFTER it was the second largest.
And you know what’s funny about north Houston park I live right up the street from it and go all the time it doesn’t even seem that big when your inside
Thank you for this vid! We will try to spend one or two months going around the US and CA to travel the best skateparks. However, we still need major improvements in our technique. Ahaha
spent a lot of time on this one, do me a favor and leave a like (:
also follow ya boy on insta: instagram.com/michaeltetkoski/
Skate Box I live in Jax Florida so I got kona

Check out my hometown park Allmend in Zürich! It's pretty big as well with a total of 8000 square meters. Great video man really enjoyed it!
Great vid! Also as an Australian that’s definitely the most interesting pronouncation of cairns ive ever heard lmao
CAIRNS IS PRONOUNCED CANS

My local to

Cairns skatepark is shit. Check out the brand new park in gympie! Not the biggest but defs the best in QLD
Nick Blackmore. no. it’s not that we Aussies can’t say our R’s, it is just how you pronounce it. It’s sort of in between Care-ns and Cans. So yeah..
yep, australian accents are non-rhotic so we don't generally pronounce the /r/ sound. that said, Cairns' /r/ is not pronounced because.... its farken straya
Isn’t adrenaline alley bigger than rampworx?
And ramp1 is big to
Being a local to North Houston skatepark is the best. Great video bro
but they require a helmet :(
I was there last week, it finally opened after quarantine!!
Bruh that profile pic I’m dead
@@SkateBox i’ve skated it for about a week straight it’s really fun the ramps there are huge! the main part i like is the street element
I drove a hour to get there yesterday just to get kicked out for no helmet

Ayy it’s not too far from me :)

8:26 Construction worker is like.... "You're welcome, now stay off the damn streets!"🤣

Yessirr i knew my local skate park “north Houston skate park” was gonna get mentioned 🤘🏼
If you get a chance you should do the best skate park in each of the states.
I Agree
I grew up in Santa Clarita. That park was built after I stopped skating, unfortunately. The park that I had growing up was up the road a bit from the current park, and it was pretty mediocre. I’m sad I missed out on such an awesome park.

The little skate park at the start of the video ,the half pipe went straight to grass lol
Sick music selection!
The lauridsen skatepark is supposed to be the biggest in the U.S but it is in progress of being built
You need to do one on Lincoln city Oregon’s Kurtsis skatepark it’s around 45,000 sq feet and it’s insane!!
Y’all lucky that you have a rail or a one ledge. I DONT HAVE A SKATEPARK WITHIN 15 MINUTES by car :(
if any one is wondering what song is in his intro it is Come and Go by juice wrld
Craig Ranch Park, here in Las Vegas, is about 65,000 sq feet!
Nice vid!
Shaw millenium is my home park. And yes the stuff that looks weird rides weird haha
Rampworx isn't the biggest indoor skatepark in the UK. The biggest is Unit 23 in Dumbarton, Scotland.
The spring park is big but there is only one flat ground rail in the entire park
you forgot B-line, a 60,000 sqft. indoor park in calgary
Wow I can't believe you put Cairns in your vid but aye that skate Park is always full 😂
What about unit 23..?
I live in Des Moines and am so ready for this park to be open at the end of May
I love the new skatepark!!
Late but I live in Cayman and very happy to have such a great park
Edit: The wave machine closed down a couple years ago :(
2:10 Des Moines? That's crazy💀 I'm an Iowan and the closest skatepark to where I live is 40miles away

You didn't add Linda Vista skate park????

U should check out the skatepark near the beach in Dubai. Would be a good addition to this list
Just came back from a skatepark from Milton which was an amazing transition skatepark with a pool

Go there it might seem a little small but the Piqua Ohio State Park it’s Woodland skate park
I thought woodward must've been here somwhere?!?
Woodward’s multiple skateparks, not just one
my local skatepark is out side and a lot of parks around mine are out side.
Yooo I learned to boardslide down ledges at Arvada Skatepark
