Best comment ever made me a subscriber. People complain about old repairs. 'Exactly Correct' I was kid in 70's & my Dads shop you would get a piece of galvanized & some angle or flat iron + make a patch . What was important was strength & the holes were covered. Final process was 'Undercoat' say it'll last another 10 maybe -15 years.
Love what your saying full fenders full bumper like the JR dragster style you showed with survivor paint There’s so other drag RUclips guys talking about wagons having a weight advantage for that class Such a cool thing your doing
My daughter Kristen needs to do her floor pans in her 2:10 they were completely rested through I took some galvanized steel off an old air conditioner and just screwed it down but she wants to put real floor pans back in it you can buy them just about anywhere anymore for like 60 bucks a piece it's just welding them back in cutting out the old hopefully this video will help her do hers she's done most of the work herself since she was 15 years old and now she has five kids and her kids will work on it with her"and keep the hot running tradition going🤗 if if you have kids or grandkids take one day a week or even a month to teach them something something they can use knowledge is it great tool 🤔 I say take it peace and pass it down after all it's just a big hunk of metal 🤣🙉🙈🙊🏁🏁🏁
Good start on the floor pans. It reminds me of when I did mine in my 55 not to long ago bought the two halfs they worked good. Good video brother your pops got a nice new toy😁
Hey what’s up man. Way to get after it. I like the Junior Stock look and stance too. A mild 327 with fender headers would be great and nostalgic. Thanks for sharing. -Juan in Virginia
Nice! That’s what I suspected, and it makes sense, it seems like they’d have the most weight over the rearend than anything else to start with those years
Wagons are making a real comeback these days and being it's a two door I'm sure my folks will want it then being a 4 door but even those are popular too these days
It's a fairly clean car you're starting with in my opinion. You could do pretty much what ever you would want to do with it, and you should end up with a nice car. Have a good day. I personally would like to see you keep it on the street though.
Not that it's my business but, I'd find a way to work around the need to flip it. It appears to be in really good shape less the floor pan. Given how cool they are, and hard to find in a "working man's" price range, that would be a keeper if it was mine.
A buddy of ours brought a few of those shields, so I’m not sure where the source is but I’ll see if it has a brand name on it, it is nice for sure, and I use a separate n95 style disposable respirator (luckily we had bought a few boxes before the virus outbreak)
That's cool those 2 door wagons are getting harder to come by these days and now they make damn near everything reproduction for them now so easier to fix up then back in the day
The reason why they use wagons back in the day for junior stockers because it was considered truck (nhra rules) and they got to use a 4-speed transmission instead of a 2-speed automatic
No such thing as California frame, a total false story Janesville Wisconsin plant used one piece frames 4x4, the 2x4, frame had the welded center seem.
unless you replace every rusted body panel section it's never going to be a brand new car. people get so caught up in the bullshit. just try to do a decent job and enjoy the car.

Living in the rust belt I don't see many tri 5's but man I'm enjoying this!
Yaba daba doo 😁

Thanks buddy! They seem like they’ll work well, i need to order a few more pieces, floor braces etc, but it will come together!
It's going to be a BAD ASS hot rod when done!!!
Road signs were what we used to fix floor pans.

Thanks Juan! I think so too! I have a prospect donor engine in mind too! We appreciate your support!
Definitely the wagons were sought after because of weight transfer was fantastic
Nice! That’s what I suspected, and it makes sense, it seems like they’d have the most weight over the rearend than anything else to start with those years
Always like to see what your up too!
Thanks for the Video!
GREAT JOB!! KEEP THE VIDEO'S COMING!!
Thank you!
It's looking good. Great job and video 👍👍🇨🇱
Thank you!

I think that paint will buff out nicely.
I believe so! Might need your expertise when the time comes haha

I definitely agree, I think if I go that direction, it will just be for the look, and the drivetrain will be very tame for streetability.
Not that it's my business but, I'd find a way to work around the need to flip it. It appears to be in really good shape less the floor pan. Given how cool they are, and hard to find in a "working man's" price range, that would be a keeper if it was mine.
great vid ! look forward to more
Thank you!
Tow rig sounds/looks good. I did some dragging in the 60s. If I remember right, stripes on the roof were for national record holders.
Ohh cool! That is really neat, I had no idea
man i just got done building my floor pan. this stuff is fun and time consuming...
Oh yeah! Now I have to brush up on my welding skills, or lack there of haha.
Doing good that will up the value and keep your feet dry great grocery getter like nomads and handyman wagons
Thank you! Definitely would be a sweet grocery getter
Please show us how to put a 454 in that 57, and please no straight axle.
Where did you get that fac3 Sheila mask from? Does it have filtrated fresh air

If the glass is good and being reused you need to remove it or protect it from sparks. Hot sparks will instantly damage glass.
That's cool those 2 door wagons are getting harder to come by these days and now they make damn near everything reproduction for them now so easier to fix up then back in the day
Did ya 3ver finish this car
Can you even find doors for it?
New from Danchuk they have them
Back glass put weight on back end.
Hey that car looks familiar. Izzit from south Georgia?
Looks big for an 8-71
The reason why they use wagons back in the day for junior stockers because it was considered truck (nhra rules) and they got to use a 4-speed transmission instead of a 2-speed automatic
GM stills consider the sedan delivery or panel wagon a truck had a HHR Panel Wagon and on the title it was a truck
Oooh wow, you learn something new every day! I knew it had to be some advantage or loophole in the rules to run an odd body style
Killer California frame
No such thing as California frame, a total false story Janesville Wisconsin plant used one piece frames 4x4, the 2x4, frame had the welded center seem.
I would not cut those Braces till you weld in those Rockers that nomad is worth money up and running
It was popular cause you could run the truck engine; hi Comp. , big horsepower
Pony up for a complete 1- piece floor pan with braces.... .I will be worth it
unless you replace every rusted body panel section it's never going to be a brand new car. people get so caught up in the bullshit. just try to do a decent job and enjoy the car.
Another half ass floor repair!
not very good at it
