and this fight basically forces you into this behaviour in order to continue

I never attack first in a game. I got stuck for minutes. After a while, I reluctantly attacked

I really love the biblical dynamic in this fight with Adam. And the soundtrack makes it 10x better. You really feel an uneasy sense of dread like you're doing something dangerously wrong as if you are disrupting the balance of life itself by striking the creation of a god, and in essence, you *are.* Adam seemed to be crafted as a peaceful being. At the beginning of the fight, he has no desire to do the protagonists harm and doesn't even attack the player until struck. He even asks his assailants why they fight him. His bare nakedness can symbolize his innocence and how it is stripped away from him like the fabric of clothing. Furthermore, children are born into this world nude and pure and are dependant on their parents only yearning love, acceptance, guidance, and care. We took that away from him, creating impurity and thus Eve. Notice how Eve is the only one with the ability to spread the virus/corruption despite the two being identical twins. Everything with a consciousness is designed to question the strange and reject that of which it cannot comprehend. We assaulted Adam. Not out of hate, but because we were afraid of the unfathomable. We are doomed to such a fate because it is only our nature. The destruction of man is his own self. We tamper with that of the unknown, something FAR from the grasp of our available knowledge and understanding and as a result throw off the course of reality, logic, and reason. It's actually quite beautiful and tragic, when you sit down and think about it.
I attacked Adam because I couldn't progress any further until I beat him. Believe me, when he didn't immediately attack or show any signs of hostility, I just stood there and watched him. The game wouldn't let me proceed though until I _"defeated the boss."_
He didn't attack me; I had no reason to try to kill him other than it being my mission objective.

It's stated in the book that 2B and 9S attacked Adam because they perceived him as hostile due to electromagnetic signals.
See Adam's eyes? They're red. Any machine which won't attack you has either yellow or green eyes. But Adam had his eyes red, so I think he was bound to attack them himself sooner or later.

At first I was laughing my ass off at the Banging Robots
then they constructed that "womb" and the "The One Reborn" flashback almost made me drop my controller

I read somewhere that "this cannot continue" refers to how the machines are as sick and tired of the endless war as the androids are, and became desperate to find a way to break the stalemate
The result was an attempt at evolution, which quite literally gave birth to Adam
Adam was a character that preferred knowledge over combat. It seems Eve grew to prefer action as he was born because of aggression (us stabbing Adam).
I still remember this fight and I probably always will. I just thought the way he was evolving to your moves along with the music is one of the most memorable moments for me in a game.
No doubt about it this is a Yoko Taro game
But happier though. I was surprised he finally gave us some sort of happy ending.

I remember that in the stageplay, the resistance members as well as the Yorha units referred to the machines as "the legion", too. Also, when A2 confronted the red girls in the tower, they also said something that sounded like a reference to legion from the bible... I guess there's some connection.

I played this boss on Hard. So damn frustrating when the little robots can kill you in two to three hits and the boss can one shot you.

There is a loss in translation with having English dubs for this fight, and it made me laugh my ass off because I'm weird.
So in the beginning, the robots say "This cannot continue." The Japanese version of this is "Konno mama ja ta me".
The robots keep saying "Konno mama ja ta ne" up until the boss fight begins, but amidst the epic music, you hear Konno mama ja ta me" throughout its entirety.
This reminded me of the metrosexual episode of South Park where they put makeover music in the background with random "CRAAAAB PEEOPLE" being said every once in a while.
TLDR : This boss fight song is the Japanese version of CRAAAB PEOPLE.
OMFG I can't even begin to compose myself, this shit caught me so off guard lmao this is too much.
