Just went through your blue's lessons. Ya wanna know something? 😏 I have a thinking disability. You have shown me how to look past that because I think that you may have had some fun growing up like me. You are a round peg in a square hole. When you teach, it's as if my own dad or brother was teaching me. It's rare I get what someone is trying to share. I miss one statement you used to say. You see, for me, I've gone through about 5 years of your video's all crunched into a few weeks time so I remember it all basically. You said, why have six strings when 3 is better! Something to that effect but your lessons are valuable. E, B, E is so so simple.
I'm only new to cbg , u inspired me to make 1 and ended up making 2 , they are fun and the sounds I get making my own chords I thought anyway , but after seeing this video I see why they work now . U sir r a legend sharing ur wisdom and I thank you for it God bless brother
This was very helpful. I happen to have very same C.B Gitty Chord Chart but was confused about what string was considered top G versus bottom G (on the chart) . I realize the chords can be played both ways but it was helpful to see your interpretation. This may not make sense to anyone but me I realize. LOL
I really like to stay away from open string notes in chords because they're not movable shapes. Another good thing about moveable shapes is they can be used in any 1/5/1 tuning.
The tutorial worth its weight in cigars, Del! The professional way to play chords on the CBG. With me, it's hit-and-miss finding the right "sound" I am looking for! (I play by "sound" rather than "notes")...LOL...and Dominant 7 sounds always bring a grin to my face...love-'em! Well done Del, an excellent exercise in finger-placing...shame I had to retune my CBG from Open E, back to Open G, to follow you...LOL...! Keep 'em coming, Del!....😀...😀...! Take care, all!
Wouldn't it just be a matter of transposing? All the shapes would be the same, it's just that the notes and chords they go to are shifted down a minor third (low EBE) or up a major 6th (high EBE).
Reminded me of It might Get Loud where Jimmy Page turns to the Edge and says what chord is that? The Edge says C and Page gives him a look and says are you sure and the edge says yes.
Hey Del my Brother did you get that from CB Gitty? Hey went to a Blues Country Rock concert last night in the Mountains of Utah and you will get a kick out of the name of the song the band I never heard of The Backwoods Boys. Constipation Blues funny and it had a good beat to it.
Because I play chord melody style, I chart the whole neck and use what works best, for the song that i am playing...I do this with every instrument i play...inversions of the chord...play the whole neck!
I started playing guitar with a “traditional” 6 string. Then I “graduated” to 12 string. Obviously, the chord shapes are the same for both styles. Then I built my first CBG, which was a 12 string and a couple of 6 strings for my kids. Since then, I got in touch with Mike Breedlove of MGB Guitars in Tampa, Florida. I’ve now built several 3 and 4 string builds, to include a double neck with one neck being 3 and one neck being 4. I love the sound of a 4 string, but I also dig a 3 string. I figure that between 3, 4, and 6/12 string guitars, the 3 string is probably the easiest to “master,” as the chord shapes seem easier. I know that you’re an EBe guy, but I appreciate you doing this lesson using GDg because I’m a G guy. I love your videos. Between you, MGB, and Southern Fire, I have learned a lot. Keep these videos coming.
Need a chart that includes approximations of sus and add chords ... 3 strings makes it a challenge especially when playing Pink Floyd tunes or Foo Fighters, but I've been able to get close (close is good for horseshoes, hand grenades and cbgs!)

EBE should work with that chart, but you'll have to scribble out the letters and write the correct names. E is down a minor third from G, so G->E, A->F#, etc.

Thanks for the lesson!
CB Gitty should make the charts for other tunings, like your favorite EBe. Awesome lesson.

This awesome, thank you. So, now I’m trying to figure out how to make one of these cord charts for open B. Can’t seem to find one online. Any tips?

JUST LOOKING AT THE ''B '' CHORD YOU SAY IT;S THE THIRD FRET BUT ON THE CHART YOU HAVE IT ON THE FORTH FRET ?
it’s probably one or the other 😜
Are the names of the chords different for EBe tuning or the same?
The letter will change... that's all... Gminor will become Eminor ... etc
SUPER!!!!!!!

Is there a chart for EBE? Can I take that chart and shift the letters along?
EBE should work with that chart, but you'll have to scribble out the letters and write the correct names. E is down a minor third from G, so G->E, A->F#, etc.
Do you sell copies of the chord chart? I need it!
www.cbgitty.com
Man, you need to make it where we can download that chart.
I got it from cbgitty.com
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar hope you didn't miss that sale they just had like I did?
Thanks, gotta get me one👍
That calligraphy, print that 24x35” and it’ll sell.
can u send me a copy of that plz
Try cbgitty.com
Go on pintrest and search cbg chords, you'll find a copy of this very chart.
It wasn't until I started playing my second CBG that I noticed that any chord is also the same as its mirror image.
