Shotaro did great still, in every group there are going to be members who have different strengths and shortcomings their other members make up for. We know how incredible of a dancer Shotaro is, and he was not any noticeable amount of bad in the actual live video, but the isolated vocal audio makes it sound a lot more obvious. All 6 of the members did really amazingly during a time where live singing is picked apart using technology like MR Removed.
We should take this into consideration too,yes this group is so far the weakest vocal in SM because they are dance-based group so it definitely bit weaker but their stage presences and dances are definitely the best you can find in 5th gen currently.

They just purposely ignore the ones that are good vocalists when it comes to Japan allegations. Like Yuta is a great dancer and actually fairly good at singing but they’ve never really acknowledged his skills. Giselle from Aespa is also a perfectly great singer.
