Thanks Mark, that was touch-and-go the whole way for Luz. Thank God he made it! Matt and Alex were fierce opponents. Carl was a great partner. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw.
It was an honor to have your as our guest! You're welcome back in the game room anytime.
Thank you for the homage to the band of brothers but, believe me war is not a game! At no stretch of imagination! Viet Nam 67/68!!!
Brilliant work on that Band of Brothers homage intro sequence! Loved that.
That was all Harry Donnington...our graphics guru!
Loved how you did the Band of Brothers style opening credits, including the interview with George.
The opening credits was the brain child of our outstanding graphic artist...Harry Donnington! Glad that you liked it...it is unique!
So much to compliment: First, nice comments by George Luz Jr! You were lucky to have him! I also enjoyed how the game created a bit of tension. Finally, big compliments also to whoever painted the minis. Excellent detail of the rank/insignia on the sleeves - and they also managed to bring out the emotions with the facial expressions. I appreciate the hard work and attention to detail required to paint to this level - well done!
Thanks so much! It was a team effort!
@@MarksGameRoomwho makes those figures? Great job
A good watch and great to have the historical context as well. Great stuff!
Outstanding video! What fun to watch! I loved all the background and the fantastic inclusion of George Luz Jr, but even more the extended gameplay. Looking forward to what's next for this channel.
Thanks Chris! There is more on the way!
What a great debut, everything worked well, the camera angles, the commentary, and the player interaction. And so cool to have Mr. Luz Jr. there to play.
Thank you Chris! It was a real pleasure to game with George!
The BoB intro was perfectly done! Great to have George Luz Jr on the episode. 👏
To think that 80 years ago, George and his band of brothers were here in England at upottery, training for D DAY, JUST 3 months later
This was not only a fantastic battle report, but a wonderfully entertaining and informative session. These rules worked perfectly in portraying the scenario, were easy to understand what and when things happened. More reports like this please and thanks for this one.
This is a special honor to have watched. My grandfather Armin Brandt was a member of the 29th Infantry Division and received a Bronze Star for his actions during the war. He is the reason I went on to study military history in college and I know that through wargaming I am serving to keep history alive and sharing it with future generations. Game on!
A first class video with fascinating background. The terrain, buildings and models were all outstanding. Thank you.
It was our pleasure! Thanks for watching and commenting!
That was quality gaming, and a great homage to the characters involved. Well done indeed.
wow lol i just bought the models for george luz and welsch online too. love what you guys did with the models. thanks for what yall do. -wargamer from michigan
Will need to buy this rule set. The opportunity to play with the old gang comes around very seldom and we could have more time to laugh and reminisce rather than fumble through charts and rules.
Good video! Subscribed!
Congrats on the launch of the channel! I couldn’t hit sub fast enough. I have used your Fire at Sea rules to run games for my students at school. Thanks and keep it up!
Awesome !! What else can you say just an incredible video!
Highly enjoyable. Thanks very much!
What a fab game. You looked like you were enjoying it far to much.
Great start to your new channel!
Great start to your channel!
What a neat and fun experience. Looking forward to the squad showdown with LittleWars!
Cool game. I always laugh at Rick Gomez's delivery of "I HAVE NO IDEA!" in that scene.
#1 comment I have to make is that the audio sucked in this video, the comments were barely audible. @08:04 I love George's reaction to the snide remark made by his American teammate against the opposing German team considering this is his 1st ever wargame experience, he totally gets it! I love how he encompasses the moments and is having fun even while reenacting actions his father undertook back in the day. @13:40 he wants to "save" his dad the "Radio Man" in the resurrection phase 💯 @15:08 "We're making progress" got to love his comments as 1st time wargamer. Great game and the rules set seems to work really well.
Excellent all around!
Loved that! I've been aware of the rules, but never given them a chance to be honest. Think ill pick them up now 😊
Great job guys. I like the idea of the commentators.
That was fantastic and what a character George Jr is.
He is a hoot!...just like his Dad!
Your figures and terrain are top notch. Can you comment on what kind of figures and how they were painted? Also how did you make the buildings? Great stuff and great scenario!
Excellent video
Great battle report, and awesome looking miniatures and terrain ! Can’t to see what’s next for the channel. Congrats on the launch. Quick question where are the buildings from ? Love them.
Thanks very much for the compliments! We obtained these buildings as 3-D prints from sellers on Etsy - www.etsy.com/search?q=Normandy+D-Day+Buildings&ref=search_bar
Well done!
Fantastic! Where are the buildings from?
Aren't they gorgeous? The buildings used in this video are 3-D prints that we obtained from sellers on Etsy - here's a search that includes those and more. www.etsy.com/search?q=Normandy+D-Day+Buildings&ref=search_bar
Cool game
That was extremely well edited! Where did you get all that non copyright music from?
The opening "Band of Brothers" style theme was created by John Zaccari - check out his soundcloud here: soundcloud.com/user-891216281
The rest of the music we licensed via this site: artlist.io/ You pay a monthly fee and get a lot of royalty-free music and sound effects you can use in videos.
What is up with only one audio channel working for part of the video? It makes it hard to listen to with headphones on.
Very enjoyable report but I don't think you reshuffle until you have exhausted the deck - not at each Joker.
Hi. Ben and Alex, have I seen you guys on Little Wars TV?
You have! We started out by making videos for LWTV to post on their channel, and have since launched MGR as it's own separate channel.
It was Lt. Harry WELSH not Welch, right?
Yes, the correct spelling is First Lieutenant Harry F. Welsh. Apologies for any and all spelling mistakes!
Enjoyed watching the play and the great looking figures and terrain. And hearing and seeing Lutz’s son. But don’t like the rules with the cards. Literally the luck of the draw and not enough gun capability and quality of troops having an influence. Will never use these rules.
