Great table, great game, great video production again! This is a tricky scenario to game, with such a small force attacking prepared defenses. I’ve looked at a number of published versions of this for different rules and I think a key balancing factor is rating the Germans very low - most are artillery crews and all think they are far behind the lines, suddenly taken by surprise.
This is an excellent observation and for this scenario we used special rules like not allowing the German machineguns to fire on the first turn and preventing the Germans from ever initiating melee combat to help reflect the disparity in troop quality.
Fantastic terrain and game. As much as I love One Hour Skirmish it would be so great to be seeing these scenarios played out with your Fireball Forward.
Part of the reason for the higher casualties on the board is because the Germans in real life were disoriented by the speed and aggression of the attack. The German player has full situational awareness of where the Americans are at all times and knows in advance he will be attacked (unlike the Germans who viewd an attack as a possibility but not a certainty) which leads to a more coordinated response
So the gunner's nest covered a large area of trenches. That's interesting. I wonder who on the German side had the displeasure to defend the gunner's nest, knowing that if they got over run, they would have to retreat over an open field with their own machine gunner's shooting..by them? 😮
I've been watching several of your OHSW videos. Any plans to write-up and share all the scenarios? Set-up, special rules, etc.? It's the one thing about these rules - not a lot of scenarios I can find online. You can kinda follow along but for those of us that want to recreate it, would be good to start with your scenario set-up.
Absolutely gorgeous board! From a scenario perspective, it doesn't seem like the Germans have much to do but just sit and take it. Personally I would probably think about playing it with a few less people, having all of the players be American, and playing all the Germans as the GM. Of course, we play modified Arc of Fire (AoF) for WWII skirmish, so that might allow players playing the Germans more options - though I kind of doubt it. WRT AoF, I believe there is a Skirmish Campaigns scenario for Brecourt Manor (which I have not played). I have to admit I didn't see anything in the video that would make me want to switch from AoF to One Hour Skirmish.

Fireball Forward videos are coming this fall!!!

Excellent video, easy to follow rules, not an easy day for Easy Company but they achieved the objective, well done guys.
Another great video! I might need to get me those rules.
I was the Walt in this.. and I did exactly that after playing. Great set of Skirmish rules and I'm going to run a game with them.

Thanks Mark, another great example of bringing life to this important battle and the role it played in providing access to Utah Beach,
Hi Mark. Sorry to ask but are you a Parkinson's suffer? I hope you are well and getting appropriate treatment is that is the case.
Another great and fun video. Really enjoying this.
For some reason it bothers me that Aces are low cards. Heh. I really enjoyed this video in spite of that.
I play flames of war 15mm scale in New Zealand 🇳🇿
Is Shaun a USNA grad? I noticed his ring!
I really don’t like these rules. Drawing cards is distracting and takes you out of the scenario.
Yeah I don’t care for the ruleset either, it’s probably real easy to teach, though. What a gorgeous table.

Oh No! Not Marlarkey. He was my favorite! Great Game. Really slick production.
Great video. Your professionalism shows through. 👍🏻
Excellent game...it makes me want to get my trenches out and give a it a go myself.
Great stuff Mark, very enjoyable.
“Nicht schiesen.” = “Don’t shoot.”
