I went to imperial for 4 years, content is a bit harder than other unis but it’s the same sort of student experience; your experience depends heavily on what you choose to do in your free time/who you hang out with. Also bear in mind that the international student population is a lot higher, and it can be difficult to adjust to a new country and culture on top of all the usual uni worries
THIS VIDEO IS SO GREAT!!! I am actually struggling between Imperial, UCL and St.Andrews right now as an undergraduate :( Hope to see a video about St.Andrews!!
studying aeronautics here. It is indeed a very hard course, and they deliver everything with a lightspeed pace. A lot of self-studying is needed as well, which is quite normal. Just too hard to digest everything in a very short time. Some modules run 4h of lectures per week (+1h tutorial). Well, if you cannot understand some stuff, then you'll have to work a hell lot to catch up.
@@ishpatel3821 I did American AP exams. Offer conditions were Calculus BC 5/5, Physics 1 5/5, Physics C Mechanics 5/5, Physics C Electricity and Magnetism 5/5 (sat these exams when I was in Grade 11 before covid, so it was basically an unconditional offer, quite generous of them). I think interviews are quite important if the course that you are applying has one. The prof was quite satisfied with my performance (tho I didn't know what I was doing and he was so scary, saying 'WRONG' out loud, when I answered 2 questions wrong at the very beginning of the interview).
Hoping to study the same course next year! Kinda worried about going from being the smarter one in my cohort at school to probably being the village idiot haha. That’s if I even get an offer admissions ratio is mental.
Best of luck!!! No need to worry about that lol. I guess the takeaway message is that there is always someone way smarter than you no matter how smart you are, and they are probably working even harder than you as well. But you don't have to be the smartest to have a happy life right! Studying what you enjoy is great fun, though you feel tired and you struggle.
I'm going imperial for my masters from a non Russel group uni outside of London. I am originally from London but its deffo gonna be different experiencing this much higher lvl of teaching in such a busy city also - this was a great video to watch thank you!
It is easy to make studying very difficult and still charge exorbitant sums for it, which is why the quality of a university cannot be judged by that. Quality lies in the extent to which the university is able to support and develop the student's abilities, which translates to the quality of the study environment and student's support. Quality is therefore determined by the potential that a student enters the school with and how that potential is used wisely.
I should be off to Imperial College in October to study Earth and Planetary Science! Going to be a whole four years in London, which is daunting since I live in the very flat, rural part of Cambridgeshire. So excited!
Whilst enroute to Durham interesting to see your review on Newcastle University considering you have highlighted their considerable drop in rankings as a Russell Group.
Lol that longer building is not library only the building with the entrance is. Also i think you visited during college closure. It's dead on campus because we are on easter break currently. So most students aren't on campus
I hate to break it to you, but your alma mater, York, isn’t exactly part of the elite ranks. It's a decent university, but it doesn’t belong to the top tier of institutions. It’s not in the same league as LSE, Imperial, Warwick, or UCL, nor does it match the academic reputation of Durham, St. Andrews, Bristol, or Edinburgh. In fact, it doesn’t even quite stand alongside universities like Manchester or Bath. York is a perfectly respectable institution, but it’s far from a destination for the highly ambitious or academically elite. So, STOP selling your so-so alma mater uni.
A strong passion for languages was born in me but I'm not good at it, I don't know if my fatigue is connected to my being sensitive, introverted and blocked or not because I noticed that most people can study languages easily , I don't know if they were all born with the innate predisposition and I together with the minority are the only losers who don't have it and if you need to have a talent not to struggle with languages ◇◇
Oxford is easy lmfao have you seen the MAT? Yeah now compare that to STEP which you need to get into Cambridge or Imperial. Oxford is for people who weren't smart enough to take STEP or the AEA or someone who can't handle STEM and wants to do a PPE "degree".
Drop a like if you enjoyed this🧭👍🍷🏴☠️Imperial was an interesting One stillll

I know this is a year later, but St. Andrew’s is just sooooo tiny I can’t do it

The library isn't that big btw, the other side is a separate building
Great vid. You need to do Lancaster, esepcially with the varsity rivalry with York :D
Ps Roses are red. Couldn't help myself lol

Bristol and Durham aren't exactly academically reputable as well lmao they're incredibly easy to get into. Durham wants a 5.0 in the TMUA for maths :/
I swr you need an id card to enter the imperial library so how did you enter it ?
"nExT cuStoMEr pLEaSe" triggered a fight or flight response in me 😭
bahahahah😂😂😂😂😂
I left in 2014. I didn’t appreciate it whilst I was there, but now I’m rich.
Can you do UCL, King’s and University of Manchaster please for the next vids 🙏🏻
Yes, please waiting for king and Manchester

Not everyone wants to go Oxford. Many want to go to London, that’s why it’s classed as the best city for students in the world.
too typical
