    Great video about HED! Highly recommend putting a K2050 in your 3" Punisher if you haven't already. I did it at AirFest this year, and I highly recommend. (If my clear-coat tells you otherwise it's lying.)

      I absolutely need to put one in it! I know it's getting at least a K456 and maybe an old AMW K555 this year!

    yours too! Our 10 foot 3 inch wildman extreme came in balistic somewhere in the west utah desert. Its been a year but i have a tripped planed to go out with my 4 wheeler and try and find it. I have tried to plot the possible locations using maths and weather conditions for that day. I live only an hour away but i hope i can find it hahaha

    Great timing. Building that WM Mach 2 and I would have put the charge on the altimeter bay as I normally do for non-HED. Thanks for the explanation. Merry Christmas!

    I've also been tying the cute toward the nose cone and the Nomex blanket closer to the electronics bay. My theory is that, even with a weak separation, the Nomex will have a better chance of yanking the parachute out. So far, it has not failed. So far.

    Cool to see dual deploy being refined.

    Excellent!! Thank you for this! Also what is that crafty wood stand under the desk? Kinda looks like motor hardware, but we know you like your cases colorful.

    What do you think about using a para foil as an alternative to dual deploiment?

    I just might build a shorty to use this method of recovery! I've been doing anti-zipper DD for about 20 years now and it works great but it does require serious design planning before the build process.

      I had an old BSD Little John that was built with zipperless DD. It was my first DD flight when I was about 14 I believe. Unfortunately I sold it. I've got a MadCow LJ to fill its void that I'm building this week and I've really been thinking about building it that way for nostalgia's sake, but I only have one coupler so I think I'm going to pass. Haha

    Great video thanks. How do you do your charges at the end of the e-matches? Balloon packed with powder?

    Hey Braden, Great video. Are you having to add weight to the nose for stability on the Punisher. If so, how much weight and what is your mounting technic of placing weight in the nosecone?

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  Год назад

      Negative! Punishers fly perfectly straight with marginal stability. MY 5" with a four grain 75 in it was under 0.6 to one a hair and still went straight and true!

    What are the benefits of using HED vs the traditional dual deploy?

    Um...question sir...the burn hole likely came from your ejection charge, yes? So it stands to assume it was from direct contact that it burnt the hole? So..could you put a short "sheild" NEXT to the charge? I'm talking about a 1" to 1 1/2" curved (I'm thinking 1/2 of a 1" pvc pipe?) Or what about a keeper, like one of the wooden stir sticks...oh, it would take so longcto explain. ... FYI..I'M not even lvl 1 certified yet.

    I have another recovery question. Do you use threaded forward closures with eyebolts to attach recovery shock cords?

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  Год назад

      Not typically, but I used to pretty frequently. I also did when I flew the Iris because I was afraid of losing the case. Haha

    I'm curious as to the length of the upper av bay coupler that goes into the nosecone?

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  Год назад

      It is very short, but that's as far in as it would go when I got it. It's got shear pins and it's flown on a few hard hitting K and J motors without issue!

    Braden, I think the link to Taylor's channel is incorrect/busted. I'm on my phone & using the RUclips app (if that makes a difference).
