Tangerine Dream - Near Dark, aka Bus Station (1987)

  • Working on several projects right now, here is one that is finished. On my previous channel I made an entire album of Tangerine Dream songs into music videos, The Dream Mixes
(1995). The day I did the last track in 2019 I was sad there were no more. They were all cut from the same cloth and not quite like anything else the band had ever done. Early Tech or Tech House. Fortunately, there were some film scores they did like Thief (1981) that had much of the same magic. This piece by the pioneers of ambient and electronic was the theme song from a rather forgettable vampire film from 1987, Near Dark. The song is also titled Bus Station. Here we apply it to a variety of "dark" and "near dark" visuals: dark models, deep space, dark dancers (with
torches!), dark Rome, dark churches, dark Roman cousins, dark visions, well, you get the idea. I employed the same type of strategy for this one as I did for the Dream Mixes.
Hopefully, I'll find another great album of TD material, otherwise I use Tech from other recording artists like Neil Flynn or Laura van Dam.

Astounding music and video! Should be 3.61 million subscribers. Where is the justice?

Thanks Ross! And you're right ... each one of the NEW videos or NEVER BEFORE SEEN videos I have uploaded, after several weeks or less, SHOULD have at least DOUBLE the views. All of them should. 2 1/2 years into my previous channel, in August 2015, that is the way it was. No, my channel had not taken off yet big time yet in August 2015, it would still be another 1 1/2 years before it would (late March 2017), but there are things that should be going on right now that are not, all the same. Bear in mind, in August 2015, I only had 167 videos total besides. I came on here again in November 2021 with over 700 videos and have created more since (some still blocked worldwide, others age restricted and taken back down by me). So, I came on here with a lot more videos than I had available in 2015. THAT should have helped out. NOBODY loses their popularity that fast (2 years) unless somebody or some group or groups is/are behind it OR the way things are being conducted on YT is now harmful to creators such as me. My feeling is that most of my content is not visible to the general YT audience. All my views are coming from subscribers and non-subscribed return viewers and next to none from the general audience. I used to get favorable comments from some of the recording artists whose music I made into videos too on my previous channel, and this is not happening now either. So, it is some kind of censorship. As you know, some of the videos I have put up that started to take off, stopped dead due to things like crappy ads someone put on them. Plus, there are a large number of videos people stole from me just before and after I was kicked off YT in August 2019 that are up that they are taking credit for (counterfeits). They are robbing my original videos of views, and my videos are being treated like counterfeits. Just getting back the views on my most popular videos that got stolen would go a long way in making this channel grow like it should. Of course, I can't deny that my output is down since September 2022 due to medical problems, financial problems, and now transportation problems, causing me a lot of stress. If my life was like it was prior to September 2022, I would have two or three times the output of new videos I have now. All the cards are stacked against me it seems.

@@mikemunrowsretro8973 Mike, very sorry to hear that your progress has been stultified by the RUclips algorithms. That's the only thing I can imagine that is working against you. The audience has changed marginally, no doubt, but not sufficiently to explain the falloff in your subscriber rate compared to your last run. Got to be those algorithms.....

By the way, that set of Tangerine Dream "Dream Mixes" are all magnificent. Would you consider re-releasing some of the others? Just watched "Stillborn " (1994) on Daily Motion. Great stuff ; wow, is that dark!!! I gather that it's not possible to comment on your content on Daily Motion (or Vimeo for that matter), which is a shame. You have some amazing stuff over there ("Puesta del Scam" comes to mind) . It's a pity the RUclips crowd can't handle that content anymore.
