M. G. F. Martin is so ridiculously underrated. His direct realism is just as overpowered as Timothy McGrew's infallibilist account of acquaintance knowledge and referential account of non-inferential justification.
"Nothing counts as a reason for believing something, except another belief" is this the same as saying that there are no uninterpreted givens of consciousness?
okay, so somewhat a tangent if anyone is interested.. I think therefore I am.. so I'm going to write down this little bip to represent this moment, 1, and having thought and noted, again I will, 1, and so on; so this is a stretch, and I can't attest to the legitimacy of my memories of writing each bip, but it's as good as I've got. aside some equally dubious number theory developing out on this :D
I am in awe of Davidson's philosophy, his metaphysical minimalism just seems to go such a long way.
