One could not compare it to a modern superbike but that is obvious. I am not normally a nostalgist but in this case I would very happily make an exception , the bike is absolutely superb and to think it was built nearly ninety years ago is almost unbelievable, no wonder T E had a passion for this make of motorcycle it makes me insanely envious of anyone who is fortunate eneough to own one..
Dear Alan, thanks for this great offer. Unfortunately it will take a while before I'll be back in beautiful England. But once that happens, I'll think about it. I wish you much joy with the legendary Brough Superior. Martin
I met an old bloke in Tasmania who borrowed one in 1940 and crashed it slightly, so people who had never met him before went to look at him when he was briefly in hospital because 'he was the man who crashed a Brough!' !
I have the also a BS 80! 1936. Look the same ride as this one, after all the same model! mine is 1936, a great bike to ride. Classic insurance is |I think cheap! for me including the BS £500 for 8 bikes!
Motosoul - A Tribute to Old Motorcycles no, my friend. i haven't heard of a single one being found in India. but considering how simple our roads were back then, i would be very surprised if anyone ever had brought one into the country.
tryarunm oh. I read about one brough Superior which was here in 1930s and was taken to england then restored and sent to USA. That was a Karnataka registered brough Superior with a sidecar. Wish it was here.
Motosoul - A Tribute to Old Motorcycles Karnataka? Yes, Mysore and Hyderabad's state capitals had probably the best roads in India, maybe New Delhi too. Glad to know there was one. must try googling for it.
Great video, though elbow length riding gauntlets in white should have been worn! (along with a trench coat and wellies with the socks folded over the tops)
When I was in college, many years ago, I had a chance to buy an SS100 for $500. "Five hundred dollars?! For that old bike? Are you kidding? Good luck finding some idiot who will pay that much for that old piece of crap." I bought a Honda instead. It is okay to call me the real idiot.
Hairy riding like that. Too bad the brakes are only marginal on the Brough's. That in itself could be scary. This whole video had me nervious, and I'v ridden over 45 years.

Thankyou!! from a big fan of T.E. Lawrence!
That sounds beautifully smooth - as though it would run forever.
Great video - thank you!

Brough brakes vary from bike to bike depending on the front end configuration, on this bike it has Druid forks, so they work really well.
Very nice video of a wonderful vintage bike. Thanks for posting it.
Very nice video. Thanks for posting this, it is my dream to be able to ride the Bro Superior once in my life!!!!
This is therapy.
Absolutely stunning, and beautiful to listen to!!

I have exactly the same bike! I have the chrome show tank though. mine is 1936! great to ride although a little primitive as one can expect!
That looked really enjoyable, can't believe that it was built in the 1930's. It seemed as good as any bike built today.
One of the classiest bikes ever built.
44reedom I agree, there is something about the 1930's machinery that just looks right.
I rather like the wind noise, being old enough to remember riding without a helmet..
what a beautiful machine.
jeder meter großes kino! alltagsfahrten gibt es bei dieser maschine per se nicht.
danke fürs mitnehmen!
thanks for posting this video, I enjoyed it very much
Fantastic, Excellent, thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!

What superb roads! My poor little bikes have shattered themselves on my joyrides on Hyderabad's roads.
tryarunm do we have brough Superior here in hyderabad? 😳

tryarunm oh. Btw i have a photo of that brough. Do you have an Instagram account.?
Do these things really go for 300 odd grand? I though the Laverda Jota prices had hiked in recent years!
Wonderful! It looks like it would live up to all of my expectations. How does it compare to a modern bike? How is the acceleration, and braking?
Wow... surprisingly agile. Sounds awesome :)
Beautiful!
Sir, I sold my SS100 thirty some years ago and still remember the very ineffectual brake on the Castle fork. Rear brake was much better.
Was the factory that made the motorbike in Stevenage Hertfordshire?
I think it was the Vincent factory in Stevenage
Hope you enjoy it a lot, lot, lot of years! :-)
a motor sound is
better than all !
Matchless engine don't forget!, Brough Superiors never had their own in house built engine!, I have an AJS with the same 990 cc side valve engine!
No problem Martin, anyway full strip down and renovation this Winter after 77 years! aber kommt freuling Du bist eingeladen!
Tsuess...Alan.
very high first gear and liked how it rolls along. no wonder lawrence crashed on those winding b roads with that motor loping along at 80 mph
depending on the account, it was either hit a young kid or dump the bike.
He got killed on a B road, because the brakes are shit. And this bloke only needs a tractor to be coming out of a field, and he will be fucked too.
very cool
What a beautiful machine.
Watch out for any drunk Post men.
And me thinking I had something special with my BMW R60 1962.
you do actually
Seeing how much an SS100 goes for. How much does it cost you to insure?
More than the average vintage bike, about the same as a small car.
+Chris Overs That's not bad really. I was expecting you to have to re mortgaging your house!
Great video, though elbow length riding gauntlets in white should have been worn! (along with a trench coat and wellies with the
socks folded over the tops)
and a monocle
Thanks
Wunderschön!

You really need a better camera. Go Pro will cut out wind noise. Thank you for the footage all the same!
Thanks Denis, glad you liked it, I was using a GoPro, as you can hear it did not cut out the wind noise!
Sorry to jump to conclusions. Once again thank you for posting such a treat for us to enjoy.
Danke !
best thing on earth!!!
either your a rich man or your grand pappy was, either way i envy you
I have the same bike! if ever in England Du bist welkom mein 'rad zu ausprobieren!
Cheers
top!
