Hey Dan, I know it's been a while since I last updated you, but I am happy to let you know that ever since I started taking better of myself and my beard, I've lost about 135 lbs in around 12 - 15 months. I finally have a healthy BMI rating.
That’s great, I am down almost 70 lbs as I “caught” high blood pressure as my doctor told me. Now my blood pressure is good and feeling better. I don’t have as much to lose but kudos to you for losing
Awesome to hear about all of the benefits of this oil. I really enjoy the carrier oil 101 videos, and learning more about what is in the products we all love!
Would just like to share that the Hunza, who live in the deep in the Hunza alley who use... Ingest copious amounts of apricot seeds and use the oil on food, the crunchy bits of the kernels are made into a paste added to various dishes..... Along naturally with the fruit! The Hunza typically live to 120-150 years of age...... Their longevity is attributed to their high consumption of all parts of the Apricot on a daily bases along with the crisp clean air and clean water at their altitude. Thus Apricots are most desirable to consume in great quantities.... 😁
Glad to know I'm on the right track. I make my own concoctions for my beard oil and use Apricot Kernel oil as one of the ingredients. Great info, as always. And thanks for the quick history lesson, always fun.
One of my favorite topics you do is the Carrier Oil 101 series. Enjoy the education and knowledge. I learn so much from this series. I take the education and review all my beard products and all the products the rest of my family use that has these oils in them.
Apricot kernel oil and Grapeseed oil are two of my favorite carrier oils. There are quite a few my skin really loves, but man apricot and grapeseed both make my skin feel so moisturized it’s wild. I’ve used beard oils without them and could feel a difference very quickly, my skin just feels refreshed with those two.
#Miracell Apricot oil will change your life I am grateful I found it my skin remains youthful and glowing without the nasty oily feeling and it naturally absorbs I use it after the shower sometimes on my hair too.
Apricot oil doesn't absorb quickly for me and seems to sit on my hair. If its top of the ingredient list, I'll usually avoid the oil. That's just me though.
Thanks Dan, great history in all of your videos. Carrier oils, 101 is something I have the ability along with the rest of your videos to go back and research..
Very informative video Dan! The carrier oils 101 is one of my favorite RUclips video series. Apricot Kernel oil is one of my favorite ingredients I look for in beard oil.
Almost every oil I have on my shelf has this amazing oil as part of the carrier blend. I can tell the difference when I use one with out it. My skin soaks it up like water. A++ beard oil ingredient!
As someone with naturally dry skin, this sounds like a great ingredient in a carrier blend. Thanks for going over the details of this, and all the others.
Dan, as per usual, you knowledge and presentation are spot on. Apricot Kernel Oil was a must have for Lucky Boy Beard Company for exactly the reasons you stated. Like you, I love that the properties of these oils have been understood for thousands of years. Good stuff Dan, Thanks
I've been curious about this oil, as I've seen it in Honest Amish and Badass Beard Care oils. Great info and great to know! I honestly had thoughts it might be a cheap filler, but I was very wrong! Cheers Dan and thanks for all you do!
My wife Danielle says they use apricot jelly on cakes desserts to preserve fruit from going bad and rotting and definitely going to check out apricot kernel oils- Ty Dan C and appreciate all you do = Have a great rest of the week.
Keep these coming! Love the info on individual carriers 🍻 only one I can think of I’ve used w apricot without looking would be BABC… pretty sure it’s high up on their list. Thanks Dan👍
Great video Dan. I had always wondered about this carrier oil. I checked my collection and only 1 brand I have contains this, and it’s Grave Before Shave. I had noticed a difference when working their oil into my rotation and now I know why. Rotating oils really works for my beard.

The founder of our company was inspired to create our AKO products after he took a trip in the 1950's to the Hunza Valley. Hey Dan, thanks for the info! I actually have been using almost exclusively your diy oil blend since last September (had to grab a bottle of goodfellow when i forgot to reorder a carrier oil) and am fixing to branch out with the oil blend in that video. Really appreciate all the research you do for us, gonna give apricot a try. Have a good one!
I've been experimenting with this oil since last year, it does wonders 4 the skin. Actually just got it outta curiosity, didn't know about the benefits 😂
Duke Canon has it in their beard oils and balms, too. Number one ingredient in most, if not all, of their products. I think they're one of the best "bang-for-your-buck" options out there
Oh man, I wish they were for me. Their oil has one of the worst feel in beard. Especially because of the hydrated silica. Here is a video on it ➡️ ruclips.net/video/1EeuhHmfxjM/видео.html
😊You must be talking about bitter apricot kernel oil because we people of Hunza extract our own sweet apricot oil and consume it. We use it in many dishes but bitter oil only for hair skin and massages

I love rosemary certified therapeutic grade essential oil in castor oil by giovanni / or Jamaican castor for scalp and hair. I use apricot oil to remove make up. I like rosehip seed oil with tangerine essential oil for facial anti-aging. I like vetiver essential oil and lavender essential oil in neem oil for therapeutics.
I will make my own beard oil with: St John's wort oil, borage oil and apricot kernel oil. Apparently these oils are also excellent in protection against UV rays. Also the comedogenic rating is great on each of these carrier oils.
The first brand that came to mind while watching this video was Grave Before Shave. If I'm not mistaken, the first two ingredients listed are sweet almond oil and apricot kernel oil. It's a great brand for anyone getting started with using beard products beacause it's not expensive, and it's a quality product.
My favorite brand that used this oil is actually Honest Amish. Although most I feel like view it as a good beginner brand, I have always loved their products and the feel in beard has always been great!👍
Hey Dan, great video as always! I make my own blend of beard oil. 2/3s apricot oil to 1/3 jojoba oil. Sometimes more apricot oil. Depends on the week. Personally I think its a fantastic beard oil!
amazing information! very grateful to have found your channel, keep it up! just a question, is it then a good idea to mix the oils, for example apricot kernel oil with jojoba oil for skin use? much love!
Loved the video, just a quick question. so I always hear the phrase "don't wash your beard everyday, only once or twice a week". What does that actually mean- the way I interpreted it was as in dont wash with water but for me that's impossible as I shower twice a day before work and after gym, or does the phrase dont wash everyday mean don't use beard wash and beard conditioner? Hopefully this makes sense just wanted to know if it's safe to wash your beard with water daily thanks
I have my challenge out there for viewers to drop some in the comments. I really don't know off the top of my head. If we do not get some good recommendations in the comments, I will go through mine in a few days and come back to comment
@@DanCBearded thank you Dan , I appreciate it because I want to start adding to my rotation with my beard oils from Beard octane , Johnny rays , bearded Mac.. please lmk when you find out the company that Carrie’s that blend of oil 💯💯💯‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥🔥

Hi Dan - after I blow dry my beard some days I lose around 40 hairs but then the next days I hardly lose any - so I guess it averages out but it just freaks me out ? Is that normal to lose that many hairs when blow drying ? It’s like when a woman combs her hair there’s loads of hairs in the brush
It is on the higher end of normal, but as long as the hairs have a white bulb at the end, you're fine. Search here on youtube "dan c bearded shedding" and there will be several relevant videos for you
So Dan can you use this apricot oil by itself just to rub in the skin at night. And if you had a carrier can you add a few drops to it to benefit the skin at night. So either separate or find it in a carrier. Thanks
I once read a story how Apricot seed can cure cancer. i dont know how true this is, but never the less....i tried the treatment and ate 15 seeds a day.....not that i have cancer....it was more of a health thing....But i think ill try it on my beard this time
It's funny that you say you ate 15 a day while they say eating atleast 6 is too much an can be deadly due to cyanide. I'm starting believe it's harmless
The toxin in the kernel is called amygdalin. It can kill you if you consume too much. It doesn’t naturally have cyanide in it, but the amygdalin will react with stomach enzymes and release a poison aka cyanide
