Solar tweaks wasn't a client. It was just a modification 'pack' for lunar, removing restrictions and adding more features. Solar's directory can be found in the .lunarclient folder (%appdata%)

It was a client, lunar client is not affiliate with solar tweaks, also i think you are confusing datapacks with a client very diferent things -_-
@@Sal-V2no, it wasn’t its own standalone client, they simply injected their own code to lunar client changing its files

i think that the biggest mistake that the solar tweaks creators did was allow free access to all lunar cosmetics and branding it like lunar. if they just didnt do the thing with the cosmetics and branded it to not be like lunar, yk, different logo, different launch layout, etc. then they probably wouldve been in the clear
But still they used some script codes from lunar client which was against their tos without there permission r.i.p solar
( i think its feather but might be a different one) feather uses scripts that come straight out of other clients but feathers still up

I was an owner of a cracked lunar client which got pretty popular at 2021. We were also giving free cloaks as well as custom ones too, around December of that month, me and the other owner got a msg from Psychi wanting to talk. The other owner wanted me to talk to him and so i did, he did the same thing. He wanted us to shutdown our client and threatened to sue us if we don't. We were like 14, so we panicked and we didn't have any other option other than scraping the whole project. (sorry if my english is bad)

i've known the whole story of solar client because I have been apart of it the whole time, and the fact someone figured out about specially is amazing.

solar wasn't a client, it simply launched lunar's minecraft but gave modifications to it.

russia legalized piracy and been stepping on copyright lately which is a good move and the right step of technology, copyright and intellectual property laws have been only helping the richest of all niches and let them be free to be as abusive as they can to their customers.
imagine the game industry without piracy, if you want to actually have some fun you will need to pay ever increasing values for less features and DLCs. piracy increases when the prices are too high or the product dont worth buying.
about copyright problems is just take disney and nintendo as main problem, TOS and licensing makes it so limit the users to whatever the creators decide.
things are more and more leaning to free and open source (FOSS) and is funny that theres a license (GNU) license that makes so everyone that modify the software must release as open source, so is basically an anti-license/copyright license.
theres many proprietary software using GNU license and we just need to decompile the programs and expose so we force them to be open source by law.
open source will win.

Solar tweaks was imo what was making lunar playable, having freelook on hypixel, "raw mouse input" like Badlion (in 1.8.9, lastests versions haves it natively), custom themes and things that weren't possible on lunar client at all
freelook got banned from lunar by hypixel i thought tho? so lunar chose to take it off to get their brand
raw mouse input was something that made me use solar tweaks (as i would have to change my sense verytime i change versions to 1.19)
same, everyone I know moved to feather/other clients once ST shutdown.
anyone know any cracked clients except tlauncher i the client i can play without buying minecraft and it should give fpsboost

They could've customized it so it didn't look at solar and instead a new fresh client so they wouldn't have been taken down they could've added lunar guis and cosmetics and even have Freelook to work on hypixel and the client would still be up [and cracked clients ofc].

They either have to change over 95% of the code which would take literally years to add all the features back and plus full time dedication and funding which they did not have. Solar tweak only worked cause it modified a little bit of lunars code to add features. Not to mention a volunteer team would highly likely won't spend years after years developing even half the features as lunar

Master class editing as always! The fact that a minecraft "battle" between one client and a modified copy-and-paste of it went to the creation of a whole lawsuit kills me... 😭 But eh, fair i guess.
Its not copy and paste its the same client just with modifications if you will disable every mod in solar tweaks you are basically just gonna run normal lunar

Imagine if they ran the client and kept their identities hidden
so there will be no way for them to be reached
When you are breaking the law, even on the internet you can't really hide your identity, do not forget that they steal code and even if they didn't make profite with it and was with right intention, you can't blame lunar to not wanting to get steal what they do.

I have been wanting someone to talk about this for awhile because when it randomly stopped working and i had no cosmetics i wanted to know what happened

This client was most definitely breaking copyright laws. Not just terms of service. I'm glad it was taken down, because this sort of stuff in the software space kills projects. Their efforts should've gone to their own project or even forking a project with an open source license, but doing this to lunar is very obvious to cause legal troubles.
It would’ve been nicer if Psychi were to hire them as developers as return for them shutting down Solar. He would’ve gained quite a lot

It makes sense for Moonsworth to take down Solar, as probably no one is going to be happy with his work being stolen without permission, this just wasn't legal.

I don't know why this video specifically lags when playing it. But other videos don't. I even purposely set the resolution lower. If I scroll down so the video player isn't exposed, it no longer lags. It also only happens while the video is playing, not when paused.
Im sad that the fact that solar tweaks was taken down. I couldnt try on the cosmetics before buying them which meant I was going in blind

I remember being in the Solar tweaks discord server. I was one of the first members in the server but I left thinking It wasn't going to be really successful. Also, I got impatient after all the time waiting lol

When I heard about Solar Tweaks at the beginning, I was gonna download it but at the end of the video, I was very upset to hear that Solar Tweaks was gone
2 content creators that i don't remember the name made a video on how to fix the solar tweaks and i am still using it but couple of days lalter lunar striked the videos and now you can't use them anymore but if you were fast enougth you can still use it , btw you make awsome videos , the editing , the story telling . the reserches that you do , keep up with the good quality content

i am surprised u didnt talk abt the fact solar tweaks got people banned on hypixel solar or smth added a "brand name" or smth to their client and that lead hypixel to being able to detect people on it bc they came out and said abt it in their own discord (the solar discord), (i could just be thinking of a whole diff situation but i think my msg is correct idk)
I used solar tweaks for a long time before watching this video, it was sad that it shut down.
