One of the most enduring groups in history. Probably only the Stones had a longer concert career. Kinks packed it in after'95 but they were playing so tightly that I was shocked when they called it quits. Saw them with my hubby dozens of times.
The story of the Kink's first tour in America, the time they got kicked out of the country, would make the greatest rock band movie ever.
Ooooo, I want to look that up. Thanks!
@@juanitadaleslusher9628 Look it up and advocate for the story. It is an epic adventure!
@@tedcabana I did, Ted. Thanks for that tip!
A song ahead of its time. It’s time is now.
You were wrong, we’re in shitter now…..
This is Captain America Calling !! ( Calling !!) 2020 !!
Best live album period.
I’ve always thought so. Kicks ass
Definitely a desert island disc...
My personal favorite is Cheap Trick at Budokan but this is awesome too

💯
This live album came out in 1980. This song came out in 1979 during the second Arab oil embargo. There were gas lines. Stagflation. 20% mortgages. Strikes every month. The Iranian hostage crisis. Everyone was struggling. I love the lyrics to this song. It captured the frustration we were all feeling. Captain America was on His knees...
We're going through much the same under Biden.
I saw the kinks in the early. 1980s in buffalo ny. They had that memorial auditorium absolutely rocking. I've always loved their music. Nobody there was expecting that much energy.one one of the best concerts I've ever seen
Supertramp opened for them. It was my 1st concert and it was awesome.
So glad I got to see them in the 80 & 90….such great live shows
Saw them in Hollywood in 87
Saw them in Jersey in Jan Dead of winter, men at work opened.
Great show.
Saw them with Scandal opening..👍
The Kinks wrote and recorded well over 100 great tunes
... this one is somewhere in the top fifty 🥴
Dave Davies on that Gibson 😍😍 epic rock
there seems to be some jumping jack flash in this song
Some?
Ray and Dave are the Greatest! 10^10
Wow! What a Great Performance!.💞
I'm in Love with Dave. I Love him so much.❤️
My brother inadvertently introduced me to this song when he and his friends were jamming out to it. It's still one I'll turn up when it starts on my playlist.
This is my favorite era of the Kinks, late 70’s, early to mid 80’s. Was too young to see them live, one of the things I’ll never check off the bucket list.
love this song to death! wish someone would catch me now I'm falling.i can relate boys
Excelente álbum one for the road
nice live show. great energy exuding from The Kinks.
That sure does sound like the guitar riff from " Jumpin' Jack Flash "
My favorite Kinks song ❤️
Ok Let's say Ray Davies just borrowed the riff from jumping jack flash and used it for catch me now I'm falling. Musicians do this type of stuff all the time. No big deal especially since rock and roll is known for its repetitiousness and simplicity. Anyway great song and Ray Davies ranks as one of the best rock frontmen. I've seen the Kinks perform live and I enjoyed every song in their set. Long lives the Kinks.
There is nothing original in rock N roll, everyone rips everyone off, me included…but I do craft some damn catchy tunes. You’re welcome. 🙂🎶🎤🙂
I'd call it more of a homage
well Pete Townshend kinda nicks kinks riff for can't explain (and Clash nicks same riff decade later)
Rock and Roll, Fun, Love, and a bunch of dudes jumping around...How KOOL!
Que performance maravilhosa, transmite a pegada que só o rock é capaz.
Ray Huge Live Performer!
Je m en souviens j avais 12ans que le rythme 🎶 était super entraînant pour danser le rock 🎸 ❤👍😄
This is a great jam
Great to see this footage as i never bought the vhs tape at the time, thought i bought the album. It really brings home the intensity of the songs and Ray's theatrics.
Part of this song sounds like Jumping Jack Flash.
Musica extraordinaria!!!
So good 🤙
Catch me now🎉
My first concert.
Nice. I actually saw this tour may '80
I need to go back in time and have Dave Davies' babies.
To go where many have gone before.
Wait...... I seen an interview with The Rolling Stones where Keith Richards said “ I came up with the riff for JJF after banging my head waking up from a nap” he was listening to the Kinks somewhere before or after that fall and stole that riff
Lucky he had a time machine
JJF is from 1969. The Kinks song is from the 80's...

Saw
And that's Bill Wyman who came up with it on piano
remember
When you were down
And you needed a helping hand
I came to feed you
But now that I need you
You won't give me a second glance
Now I'm calling on citizens from all over the world
This is Captain America calling
I bailed you out when you were down on your knees
So will you catch me now I'm falling
Help me now I'm calling you
Catch me now I'm falling
I'm in your hands, it's up to you
Catch me now, I'm falling
I remember
When you were down
You would always come running to me
I never denied you
And I would guide you through all of your difficulties
Now I'm calling on citizens from all over the world
This is Captain America calling
I built you up when you were down on your knees
So will you catch me now I'm falling
Help me now I'm calling you
Catch me now I'm falling
I'm in your hands, it's up to you
Catch me now, I'm falling
When you were broke, you would come to me
And I would always pull you around
Now I call your office on the telephone
And your secretary tells me that she's sorry, but you've gone out of town
This is Captain America calling
This is Captain America calling
Help me now I'm calling you
Catch me now I'm falling
I'm in your hands, it's up to you
Catch me now, I'm falling
Catch me now, I'm falling 4x
I stood by you through all of your depressions
And I lifted you when you were down
Now it's your chance to do the same for me
I call you your office and your secretary tells me that you've gone out of town
This is Captain America calling
This is Captain America calling
Catch me now, I'm falling 4x
I was the one who always built you up
Through all your depressions and your difficulties
I never thought that you would let me down
But the next time you're in trouble, baby
Do not come running to me
Now I'm calling all citizens from all over the world
This is Captain America calling
I built you up when you were down on your knees
So will you catch me now I'm falling
Catch me now, I'm falling
Que qrupaso yo tenia 9 años 😀😃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃😇😇😇😇😇
That riff sounds like they borrowed from The Stones' Satisfaction
S.O 2021 🙋🏻♂️
This is a fitting song for Donald John
For a second I thought they were doing a cover of Jumping Jack Flash. LOL
No.. this is not "Jumping Jack Flash." .................. This is "Leaping Jack Flash!"
The intro sounds familiar to 🤔
Hahahahha 1

PINK ROSES HIT THE STAGE - JAX OPERA HOUSE - THANK YOU- FLA - LG
Reminds me of another song haha..
riffs sound like the stones
This song "Catch Me Now I'm Falling" says shame on you countries that America helped in the past for not helping America now--awesome for The Kinks to say, when America banned them for 4 years for bad behavior at the height of the "British Invasion." It's strange that Ray Davies would use JJFlash, because he's written so many songs, and everybody knows he didn't Need a RS song. He must have had a reason. The song JJFlash is about having a bad time and getting out of it...
ray you should pay some royalties to jagger richards for this
Awesome tune...takes me back to my youth
sound like jumpin jack flas by the rolling stones
Erick Fender Candelas It’s pretty much the same riff
way too fast
Did Jagger and Richards sue?
Believe it or not this is first time I have heard this song. 2021.
punk
Ray is a little too gleeful in singing an anti-American tune
It’s not anti American. Captain America is saying it helped Britain in its time of need during WW2; now (late 70’s) it could use a little TLC itself.
damn i miss these boys
